Eagles FS Rodney McLeod (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 4.

McLeod missed last week, but should return after practicing fully. The Eagles will still be without defensive backs Jaylen Watkins and Corey Graham for Sunday's game.
Sep 29 - 5:50 PM

Eagles declared FS Rodney McLeod, CB Ronald Darby, DT Destiny Vaeao, CB Jaylen Watkins, DE Steven Means, WR Shelton Gibson, and CB Corey Graham inactive for Week 3 against the Giants.

In McLeod and Darby, the Eagles are missing two starters in the secondary. Watkins had been filling in for Darby before suffering a hamstring strain last week. We're still not optimistic about the Giants' passing game capitalizing.

Eagles FS Rodney McLeod (questionable, hamstring) isn't expected to play in Sunday's Week 3 game against the Giants.

It's another blow to a secondary that's already without Ronald Darby, Jaylen Watkins, and Corey Graham. Special teamer Chris Maragos is the only healthy safety behind McLeod, though the Eagles figure to use corner-heavy sub-packages. The matchups for Evan Engram and Odell Beckham should be upgraded if McLeod sits.

Eagles FS Rodney McLeod (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 3.

This is an injury worth tracking with Corey Graham and Jaylen Watkins sidelined. McLeod looks like a game-time decision after getting in a limited practice Friday. The Eagles have a depleted secondary, leaving special teamer Chris Maragos the only other healthy safety on the roster.
Sep 22 - 7:01 PM

Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski reports Eagles FS Rodney McLeod has a Grade 1 hamstring strain.

It is the lowest grade strain. Kempski reports McLeod is questionable for this week's matchup with the Giants, but the injury is not a long-term concern. Corey Graham would likely step into the starting lineup if McLeod is forced to miss a game.

Eagles restructured FS Rodney McLeod's contract.

$3.225 million of McLeod's salary was converted into a bonus. The safety will still earn the same amount, but the move saves the Eagles around $2.4 million in cap room by kicking the can down the road. Signed to a five-year, $37 million contract last year, McLeod put together a solid first season in Philly.
May 27 - 1:08 PM

Eagles agreed to terms with S Rodney McLeod, formerly of the Rams, on a five-year, $37 million contract.

The deal includes $17 million guaranteed. It's a huge haul for someone who arguably wasn't even one of the three best safeties available. McLeod is coming off a breakout 2015, however, and is still only 26 (in June). He's forced 12 turnovers the past three seasons and was PFF's No. 10 overall safety last year. The Eagles needed to remake their secondary, and this is a good second step after dumping Byron Maxwell. McLeod will form an excellent tandem with Malcolm Jenkins.

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports the Ravens are a "strong contender" for free agent FS Rodney McLeod.

McLeod is a very underrated centerfield-type safety who can also lay a lick on a receiver despite his 5'10/193 frame. Losing McLeod on the same day RCB Janoris Jenkins left for the Giants would be a tough blow to the Rams, who have said their main objective is to lock up their secondary. The Ravens are in the market for a deep safety to pair with SS Will Hill.

The Detroit Free Press reports free agent S Rodney McLeod will be "in demand."

Per reporter Dave Birkett, "NFL people like him." McLeod's agent is clearly making the rounds, but the fifth-year UDFA is indeed coming off a strong year at the back end of the Rams' defense. McLeod played 1,180 snaps, grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 10 overall safety. McLeod turns 26 in June.

Rams re-signed restricted free agent FS Rodney McLeod to a one-year, $2.356 million contract.

McLeod and SS T.J. McDonald each played over 1,000 snaps for the Rams last season. McLeod is tiny at 5'11/183, but graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 18 cover safety and laid a couple big licks on receivers downfield last season. The Rams could use an upgrade on the back end, but McLeod is plenty serviceable.

Rams extended a second-round tender to FS Rodney McLeod.

McLeod started all 16 games last season, registering 72 tackles and two interceptions. He graded out as PFF's No. 45 safety out of 87 qualifiers. The second-round tender is a one-year deal worth $2.356 million.

Rams GM Les Snead named Rodney McLeod the team's starting free safety.

Fourth-year safety Darian Stewart was fully expected to man the free safety spot as training camp commenced. Predictably, Stewart ended up battling various injuries and has missed the last two preseason games. McLeod, a second-year UDFA out of Virginia, is tiny at 5-foot-10, 180, but he's the best the Rams have. Stewart's roster spot could be in jeopardy.
