The San Francisco Chronicle confirms second-year WR Rod Streater will have an opportunity to start in 2013.
Barring a surprise draft pick, Streater's main competition to start opposite Denarius Moore will come from 2012 fifth-rounder Juron Criner. Undrafted last April, Streater posted 39 catches for 584 yards (15.0 YPR) and three TDs as a rookie. He has versatility, capable of playing both Z receiver and the slot. Apr 8 - 1:57 PM

Raiders coach Dennis Allen recently praised WR Rod Streater.

"I think the guy's got talent," Allen said. "I think he's a good route-runner. I think he's got good ball skills. I think he'll go up and attack the ball. I think he's a tough kid. I think he believes in a lot of the things I'm looking for in a football player." They're glowing words, and an indication the Raiders are counting on the second-year UDFA stepping up after they released Darrius Heyward-Bey. Streater will be worth monitoring as a potential WR4/5 in fantasy leagues.

Rod Streater caught four passes for 77 yards in the Raiders' Week 17 loss to the Chargers.

Streater closed out his rookie season with a flurry. Over the final five games, he recorded 18 catches for 351 yards and one touchdown while operating as the clear-cut No. 3 wideout. The undrafted man out of Temple has averaged 5.4 targets during that span, outplaying Darrius Heyward-Bey and Denarius Moore. Those two will be back in 2013, but Streater's progress is something to watch.

Rod Streater caught two balls for 16 yards on five targets in the Raiders' Week 16 loss to the Panthers.

Streater entered the game having paced Oakland in receiving in back-to-back-to-back games. He turned in a Week 16 dud as Carson Palmer suffered a game-ending rib injury in the first quarter. Streater will finish out an otherwise impressive rookie campaign when Oakland faces the Chargers in Week 17.

Rod Streater led the Raiders with 62 yards on five receptions versus the Chiefs in Week 15.

It's third consecutive game that the rookie has led the team in receiving yards. Only Denarius Moore (8) saw more than Streater's six targets while Darrius Heyward-Bey was held without a catch on five targets. All three are high-risk fantasy plays at Carolina's stout pass defense in Week 16.

Rod Streater hauled in four passes for 100 yards in Week 14 against the Broncos.

Streater saw a team-high seven targets on the night and turned in a long gain of 58 yards in the first half. The Temple product has quietly posted seven catches for 196 yards and a score over the past two weeks while working in three-wide sets. We still wouldn't read too much into it. Streater is no more than a WR5.

Rod Streater caught three passes for 96 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 against the Browns.

Streater was targeted just four times on the day, but he turned one of them into a 64-yard score. On the play, he beat Cleveland's nickel CB Buster Skrine and made a slick over-the-shoulder catch. Streater can be left on the waiver wire.

Rod Streater caught just two passes for 26 yards in Oakland's Week 11 loss to the Saints.

Streater was targeted just four times on the day while sharing opportunities with Juron Criner and Derek Hagan. He can be left on the waiver wire for Week 12.

Raiders WR Rod Streater caught one pass for 11 yards in Oakland's Week 10 loss to Baltimore.

Streater was targeted ten times in Week 9, but that was clearly a game-plan specific development against the Buccaneers and he was a Week 10 afterthought in the passing attack. Leave Streater on the waiver wire entering Week 11.

Raiders rookie WR Rod Streater caught four balls for 54 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 9 loss to Tampa Bay.

The Raiders clearly saw something on tape in Tampa's pass defense that they felt they could exploit with their slot receiver. Streater racked up ten targets -- second on the team only to Brandon Myers -- and the touchdown was the undrafted rookie's first since Week 1. Leave Streater on fantasy waivers for Week 10.

Rod Streater has emerged as the Raiders' "clear-cut" No. 3 wideout.

With Jacoby Ford (foot) on IR all season, Streater has separated himself from Derek Hagan and Juron Criner. However, the No. 3 receiver spot in the Raiders' offense doesn't yield many chances. Streater has just six catches for 74 yards over the last three weeks.

Rod Streater was held without a catch in Oakland's Week 4 loss to the Broncos.

Despite the absence of Darrius Heyward-Bey (concussion), Streater was targeted only twice, and held without a catch for the first time in four games. A preseason darling, Streater is on pace for just 32 catches and 272 yards. That's not a recipe for WR5 value.
Sun, Sep 30, 2012 08:18:00 PM

Rod Streater "tweaked" his neck in Friday's practice and was added to the injury report as questionable for Week 4.

Streater is shaping up as a game-time decision against the Broncos. He wouldn't start even if he did play. While Streater was a nice story as a UDFA who made the Raiders out of Temple, he carries very little to no fantasy value.

Rod Streater (eye) is practicing fully this week.

The Contra Costa Times is unsure which of Streater or veteran Derek Hagan will start in place of Darrius Heyward-Bey this week. Hagan played a key role in last week's comeback victory while Streater missed snaps with the eye injury. Neither receiver is more than a desperation fantasy play at Denver.

Rod Streater caught four passes for 27 yards and a touchdown, while adding a two-point conversion in Week 1.

Streater also lost a fumble on his first NFL catch. The preseason hype didn't carry over to the real deal, but he saved himself by securing the touchdown in the last minute. Streater was targeted a whopping eleven times by Carson Palmer, catching his first three and then his last one. If Denarius Moore (hamstring) can return in Week 2 against Miami, Streater will either move to the slot or to a reserve role.
