Coach Dennis Allen said it's a "comforting feeling" for him to know he can count on three points anytime the offense gets across the 50-yard line.
Sebastian Janikowski is 29-of-32 on the year, with his three misses coming from 51, 61 and 64 yards out. It's another Pro Bowl caliber year for SeaBass, who remains a potent weapon for owners that get rewarded for long field goals. Over the last four years, he's made 23-of-34 kicks from 50-plus. Coach Dennis Allen said Sebastian Janikowski's sore groin was not the reason he passed on a 58-yard field-goal attempt in Week 6.

Allen apparently believes the first half of a 0-0 game is too early to unleash Janikowski's mammoth leg even though the game was in a dome. It's not a great sign for SeaBass' fantasy value. Through five games, he is just 2-of-2 from 50-plus yards after going 7-of-10 from that distance last season.

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski (groin) was limited in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Week 3.

The Raiders are trying to be deceptive on the injury report ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Steelers, listing eight guys as "limited/questionable." Janikowski suffered the injury in Oakland's third preseason game and has been fine the first two weeks of the season. Trot him out as your fantasy kicker.

Sebastian Janikowski (groin) will kick in Monday's game against the Chargers.

Janikowski tweaked his groin while trying to make a tackle during the third preseason game. He's fully recovered from that and will be ready to go in the opener. Janikowski's powerful leg and the Raiders' propensity to get in shootouts make him a strong fantasy kicking option.

Sebastian Janikowski (groin) is fully expected to be ready for Week 1.

Janikowski hurt himself while trying to make a tackle on Saturday night. "He's a little tight, but it doesn't seem to be any real pull (or) defect in the muscle or anything like that, so I don't anticipate it being a big deal," coach Dennis Allen said. Janikowski is 3-of-5 on field goals through three preseason games.

Sebastian Janikowski was removed from the Raiders' third preseason game with a groin injury.

Janikowski was injured while attempting to make a tackle on a long kick return from Justin Miller. His return is officially "questionable," but it sounds like he won't be available for the Raiders' preseason finale, and this has the potential to impact his status for the regular season.

Sebastian Janikowski agreed to court-ordered anger management and substance abuse classes in connection with multiple misdemeanor charges from a 2010 nightclub incident.

Janikowski was originally charged with misdemeanor battery and false imprisonment after grabbing and shoving a woman. The court ordered him to stay away from the woman, but he won't face jail time. Janikowski should escape NFL discipline for the incident.

Coming off his six-field goal day, Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) was held out of practice Wednesday.

Remarkably, Janikowski banged four field goals from 40 yards out or more last week even though his hamstring still isn't 100 percent. He's now 8-of-9 from 40-plus on the season and 5-of-6 from 50-plus. Sea Bass should be in fantasy lineups for Sunday's game at Miami.

Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) is no longer listed on the Raiders' injury report.

Coach Hue Jackson believes Janikowski has turned the corner with his hamstring strain. Sea Bass is our No. 7 play at the kicker position this week.

Sebastian Janikowski confirmed his left hamstring injury continues to bother him in games.

Janikowski had a 49-yard attempt blocked last week and partially blamed the hammy. "I get treatment every day, it might bother me the whole year, I don't know," Janikowski said. Sea Bass will remain a high-risk fantasy option.

Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Vikings.

According to beat writer Vittorio Tafur, Janikowski looked balky in warmups for the third straight week. But he's in a dome and the Raiders are a good bet to move the ball well today. Janikowski is our No. 6 option at the kicker position.

Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) was held out of Thursday's practice.

Coach Hue Jackson is still confident that Sea Bass will kick against the Vikings. Unless the Raiders add a kicker this weekend, Janikowski should be good to go.

Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) will handle kicking duties against the Chargers Thursday night.

Sea Bass carries risk of an in-game aggravation, but the Raiders wouldn't let him kick if they didn't think he could handle kickoffs and long field goals. Rotoworld ranks Janikowski 11th among fantasy kickers for Week 10.

Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) came off the field "gingerly" at Raiders practice Wednesday.

He's officially too risky to start against the Chargers. Sea Bass is perhaps fantasy's top overall kicker when healthy, but there's little reason to hold onto any kicker who's not 100 percent.

Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) did not practice Tuesday but is expected to play in Thursday's game against the Chargers.

Considering how gingerly Janikowski kicked the ball in Week 9, it's a little surprising the Raiders haven't explored free agents. But they probably figure SeaBass at 75 percent is better than most at 100 percent -- and they may be right. Still, Janikowski is a risk for fantasy owners. He could aggravate the injury in the game and his trademark power is unlikely to be there.
