Vikings claimed TE Brandon Bostick off waivers from the Packers.
Bostick is coming off a lost season in 2014, appearing in 13 games and playing just 34 snaps. The Packers moved on from him following his special teams performance in the NFC Championship, but Bostick offers upside as a potential move tight end in OC Norv Turner's scheme. Bostick will compete with Chase Ford and Rhett Ellison for the backup job to injury-prone starter Kyle Rudolph. Feb 18 - 5:05 PM

Packers waived TE Brandon Bostick.

Bostick was due just $585,000 for 2015, but the Packers are moving on after he earned all of 34 snaps in 2014. Bostick, of course, is only 29 days removed from being the (unfair) goat of the Packers' NFC Championship Game loss. Still just 26 (in May), Bostick has always offered athletic upside, but it's concerning that he couldn't get on the field in Green Bay considering his lack of competition. He'll fight for someone's No. 3/4 tight end spot this summer.

Brandon Bostick wasn't targeted in the Packers' NFC Championship Game loss.

Despite the zero-look day, Bostick still managed to secure goat status, failing to corral a Seahawks onside-kick attempt late in the fourth quarter. Going on 26, Bostick has nice athletic upside, but caught all of two passes in 2014, playing 34 snaps. He's not guaranteed back at his $585,000 salary for 2015.

Brandon Bostick (hip) is listed as probable for Week 13.

Bostick missed the last two games with a hip issue. He managed to score a touchdown in Week 10, but has played just 27 snaps this year. Bostick should remain in a limited role behind Andrew Quarless and Richard Rodgers.

Brandon Bostick (hip) returned to a limited practice Wednesday.

Bostick has a chance to return after missing the last two games. He's played just 27 snaps this year behind Andrew Quarless and Richard Rodgers. Bostick should be considered questionable for Week 13.

Packers TE Brandon Bostick (hip) is inactive for Week 12.

Bostick will miss his second straight game and remains week to week. The rest of the Packers inactives are QB Scott Tolzien, CB Jarrett Bush, LB Nick Perry, WR Jeff Janis, C Garth Gerhart, and LB Carl Bradford.

Brandon Bostick (hip) remains sidelined at Packers practice.

Bostick has been a non-factor all season. He's lightyears from re-draft relevance.

Brandon Bostick (hip) has been ruled out for Week 11 against the Eagles.

Bostick played seven snaps last week, catching a one-yard touchdown. He can't get out of his own way this season, struggling to stay healthy, learn the playbook, and put together consistent practices. Bostick is a fantasy non-factor.

Packers TE Brandon Bostick (hip) remained sidelined Thursday.

Bostick was in street clothes on the sideline. He appears poised to miss Week 11.

Brandon Bostick (hip) did not practice Wednesday.

After playing seven snaps and catching a one-yard touchdown against the Bears Sunday night, Bostick is back on the sidelines. He's been a disappointment.

Coach Mike McCarthy said he hopes to get TE Brandon Bostick more involved on offense the rest of the season.

"I like what Brandon's done the last couple of weeks," McCarthy said. Bostick has played just 20 offensive snaps this season after continuously being compared to Jermichael Finley over summer. But he wasn't practicing well and has had trouble picking up the offense. The Packers have been getting nothing from the tight end spot, with rookie Richard Rodgers struggling badly.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Friday he "wouldn't be surprised" if TE Brandon Bostick got playing time in Week 6 at Miami.

The Packers are getting nothing out of Andrew Quarless and rookie Richard Rodgers. Bostick has been slow to pick up the offense, but easily has the best athletic profile in the group. Bostick should be on fantasy watch lists in 12-team leagues and is worth a look as a TE2 stash in 14- and 16-teamers.

Packers TEs coach Jerry Fontenot confirmed Brandon Bostick doesn't have a full grasp of the offense, which is why he isn't playing on Sundays.

"I need to feel more comfortable with the things we're doing in practice," Fontenot said. "I need to see that he's making split-second decisions, the right decisions. We're still getting there." Fontenot said if Bostick could run all of his snaps out of the slot as a pass-catcher, then he'd be playing. But the offense calls for tight ends to do more, like block, play in-line, line up at fullback and out wide. Bostick doesn't have it down. He remains a Dynasty hold, but nothing else.

ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky said it sounds like TE Brandon Bostick's "practice habits have not warranted playing time."

Bostick missed Week 1 with a leg injury, and has been limited almost exclusively to special teams in the Packers' other two games. Bostick is the most athletic option in Green Bay's tight end corps, but will have to improve his consistency to earn meaningful snaps.

Brandon Bostick had two special teams penalties in the Week 3 loss at Detroit.

Richard Rodgers was benched in Week 3 for his disastrous blocking, yet Bostick still didn't play a single snap on offense. Coach Mike McCarthy did not make it sound like that will change, saying his players need to worry about their current roles first.
