Buccaneers re-signed FB Jorvorskie Lane to a one-year contract.
He suffered a broken ankle late last season but obviously the Buccaneers aren't concerned about it. Lane has a reputation as a poor blocker and may not make it out of training camp. Mar 12 - 12:51 PM

Bucs FB Jorvorskie Lane has been diagnosed with a broken leg, and requires season-ending surgery.

Lane had played only 77 snaps as the Bucs' lead blocker this season. His loss won't have an effect on Tampa's monumentally-ineffective running game. Going on 28, Lane isn't signed beyond 2014.

Bucs FB Jorvorskie Lane left Week 12 against the Bears with a right ankle injury.

Lane was rolled up on from behind after a second-quarter run. Trainers put an air cast on his right leg before he was carted off the field. He is out for the rest of the game and is likely done for the season.

NFL suspended Bucs FB Jorvorskie Lane two games for violating the league's policy against performance-enhancing drugs.

Lane has played just 43 snaps this season, rushing two times for 56 yards and catching a three-yard pass. He's drawn poor blocking grades from Pro Football Focus. Lane is more of a ball-handling fullback than lead blocker.

Buccaneers signed FB Jorvorskie Lane.

Lane was out of the league last season after being cut by the Dolphins near the end of camp. He isn't much of a lead blocker and has just 13 yards on 13 career carries to go along with three fumbles. Lane will compete for a spot.

Dolphins waived FB Jorvorskie Lane.

Even with Dustin Keller (knee) out for the year and H-back Charles Clay moving into the starting tight end role, Lane can't stick. He's not a plus lead blocker.

Dolphins FB Jorvorskie Lane is practicing with the third-team offense at training camp and is in danger of losing his roster spot.

The Dolphins apparently decided during Jeff Ireland's pre-training camp vacation that they're going to be a three-receiver, one-tight end team that uses an extra tight end whenever it runs out of the I-formation. It's also why the Fins decided against signing free agent Vonta Leach. Lane struggled as a lead blocker in 2012 and does not offer pass-catching ability.

The Dolphins benched FB Jorvorskie Lane in favor of H-back Charles Clay at times during OTAs.

Lane is a useful short-yardage option and special teamer, but was maddeningly up and down as a lead blocker last season. It's surprising the Fins have ostensibly jumped out of the Vonta Leach sweepstakes. They made heavy use of I-formations and the offset I last year, particularly when Lamar Miller was in the backfield. We would have loved Leach's addition for Miller's fantasy outlook.
