Fozzy Whittaker rushed one time for one yard in Saturday's Divisional Round loss at Seattle.

Due to a myriad of mid-season injuries in Carolina's backfield, Whittaker briefly became a "thing" in fantasy circles this season. It was misguided. Whittaker shared time with Darrin Reaves and sustained an injury of his own in Week 6. An impending free agent, he'll have to fight to make a roster in 2015.

Fozzy Whittaker rushed one time for four yards and caught a 39-yard touchdown in the Panthers' Wild Card win over the Cardinals.

Whittaker was the second back in the game behind Jonathan Stewart despite DeAngelo Williams (hand) being active. On his touchdown, Whittaker caught a simple screen pass to the right and cut all the way back across the grain, shedding a tackle or two along the way to walk into the end zone up the left sideline. He'll handle a couple change-of-pace touches in the Divisional Round.

Panthers ruled out RB Fozzy Whittaker (quad) for Week 7.

Carolina also ruled out DeAngelo Williams (ankle), leaving just Jonathan Stewart, Darrin Reaves (calf, questionable) and Chris Ogbonnaya in the Panthers' backfield. CB Bene Benwikere (ankle), LB Chase Blackburn (knee) and G Amini Silatolu (calf) were also ruled out for Week 7.

Fozzy Whittaker aggravated his quad injury during Sunday's tie with the Bengals.

Whittaker didn't seem too concerned about the injury. "I'll still hit it," he said when asked about his Week 7 status. Jonathan Stewart (knee) has a good shot at returning to the starting lineup anyway.

Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker exited Sunday's Week 6 game against the Bengals with a leg injury.

Whittaker had been battling a quad issue the past couple weeks. He actually got the start in this one in a depleted Carolina backfield, but rushed for just 25 yards and one touchdown on nine carries. Ideally, he wouldn't have been in any fantasy lineups in this jumbled mess of a running back situation.

Coach Ron Rivera confirmed that Fozzy Whittaker (quad) was close to 100 percent Sunday.

Whittaker got zero snaps as he was merely the emergency back behind Darrin Reaves and Chris Ogbonnaya.

Fozzy Whittaker was active but did not play a snap against the Bears Week 5.

Darrin Reaves and Chris Ogbonnaya saw all the running back work for Carolina. There was no word on why Whittaker sat out, though he may have aggravated his quad injury. He is not on the fantasy radar.

The Associated Press' Steve Reed believes Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker will get more work than Darrin Reaves against the Bears.

"The Panthers list Darrin Reaves as their starting running back, but don't read too much into that," Reed said. "I expect to see more of Fozzy Whittaker." Reaves will get the first crack, but Whittaker could earn the most carries with a strong showing. This is shaping up as a situation to avoid in fantasy.

Fozzy Whittaker (quad) confirms he'll return for Sunday's game against the Bears.

Whittaker sat out Wednesday's practice, but was "limited" in Thursday's session. The ex-Brown will back up default Panthers starter Darrin Reaves. Whittaker is not on the Week 5 fantasy radar.

Coach Ron Rivera is pretty confident Fozzy Whittaker (quad) will return for Week 5.

This qualifies as big news for the Panthers, as DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert are all sidelined. Whittaker projects as support behind Darrin Reaves.
