Browns waived RB Fozzy Whittaker.

A third-year UDFA out of Texas, Whittaker took the rock 28 times for 79 yards last season (2.8 yards per carry). The Browns are completely remaking their running back corps. Although it's never a good sign to get cut loose at this stage of the offseason, Whittaker should latch on elsewhere as a camp body.
May 12 - 1:10 PM

Fozzy Whittaker caught two passes for 38 yards and a touchdown in Cleveland's Week 17 loss to the Steelers.

Whittaker was held without a carry. Whittaker has a decent pair of hands for a running back, but ends 2013 with a horrid 28 carries for 79 yards (2.8 yards per carry). Whittaker won't turn 25 until February, but will be a roster long-shot for 2014. The Browns are almost certainly going to focus on upgrading their backfield.

Fozzy Whittaker rushed one time for one yard and caught two passes for four yards in Sunday's Week 15 loss to the Bears.

Whittaker played well behind both Edwin Baker (12 touches) and Chris Ogbonnaya (10 touches). The Browns staff clearly has no faith in him as a feature back.

Fozzy Whittaker rushed for 15 yards on seven carries in Week 13 against the Jaguars.

Whittaker added one catch for one yard. Whittaker was the No. 3 back Sunday, playing behind both Willis McGahee and Chris Ogbonnaya. He also handled kick returns, bringing just one out for a ten-yard gain. Whittaker has a role in the Cleveland offense, but it's a minor one at the moment. He's not on the flex map.

Fozzy Whittaker rushed six times for 16 yards in Week 12 against the Steelers.

Whittaker had more carries than Chris Ogbonnaya and Willis McGahee, with the majority of his playing time coming after Ogbonnaya fumbled in the second quarter. He added just one catch for five yards, but was used late in the game in passing situations. Whittaker should continue to push for an expanded role going forward and is worth a look as an RB5 in re-draft leagues.

Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) is practicing in full this week.

Whittaker totaled 61 yards on nine touches last Sunday against the Bengals. He should continue to push Willis McGahee for snaps in a committee with Chris Ogbonnaya.

Fozzy Whittaker had four carries for 20 yards in Week 11 against the Bengals.

He added five catches for 41 yards. Whittaker split passing-down work with Chris Ogbonnaya and should continue to push for snaps behind Willis McGahee. He secured all five of his targets by Jason Campbell and was a factor out of the backfield in the second half. Whittaker is with monitoring in re-draft leagues, but remains off the fantasy radar.

Fozzy Whittaker rushed for 11 yards on two carries in Week 9 against the Ravens.

Whittaker caught three-of-four targets for another 13 yards. He and Chris Ogbonnaya split passing-down work behind early-down back Willis McGahee. Whittaker is becoming a significant part of the offense, but he's not yet an option in 12-team leagues. The Browns are now entering their bye week.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer expects the Browns to give more carries to Fozzy Whittaker and Chris Ogbonnaya.

With Willis McGahee averaging just 2.9 yards per carry, the Browns have no choice but to get Whittaker and Ogbonnaya more involved in the offense. Claimed off waivers in Week 5, Whittaker played eight snaps and caught a 17-yard touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. Whittaker isn't on the fantasy radar, but is worth monitoring in deeper re-draft leagues.

The Browns will use Fozzy Whittaker as their primary kickoff returner moving forward.

He'll go back deep with Greg Little, but Whittaker will be the primary guy. The Browns also gave Whittaker seven touches on offense in Week 7, eating into Chris Ogbonnaya's third-down back workload. Whittaker has some value in return-yardage leagues. He's not yet on the re-draft radar beyond 16-team formats.

Browns RB Fozzy Whittaker rushed five times for 11 yards and caught two passes for 13 yards in Cleveland's Week 7 loss to Green Bay.

He added a 56-yard kickoff return. Whittaker was utilized as a change-of-pace back behind Willis McGahee, with Chris Ogbonnaya also mixing in but mostly playing fullback. Whittaker is not worth a roster spot in 12-team leagues.

Browns claimed RB Fozzy Whittaker off waivers from the Chargers.

He'll add another body to Cleveland's muddled running back corps. Whittaker can also return kicks and will be a candidate to replace Greg Little there.

Chargers waived RB Fozzy Whittaker.

Whittaker had a strong preseason, but fell behind Danny Woodhead and Ronnie Brown for backup duties and was being used strictly on special teams. With both RG Jeromey Clary (clavicle) and LT King Dunlap (concussion) not expected to play this week, the Chargers have signed OL Nick Becton off their practice squad.

Chargers RB Fozzy Whittaker had six carries for 25 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason game against the Cardinals.

He added two catches for 29 yards. Whittaker has outplayed Ronnie Brown in the preseason and is a strong candidate for San Diego's No. 3 running back job. Through three preseason games, he has 33 touches for 140 total yards and two touchdowns.
