D.J. Fluker is still adjusting to playing right guard.
Fluker started 31 games at right tackle the last two years, but the 6-foot-5 mauler always profiled better at guard. When he figures out the position, Fluker and new RT Joseph Barksdale should give the Chargers a very solid right side. Aug 25 - 10:18 AM

The Chargers have kicked D.J. Fluker inside to guard.

He's been practicing there the last few days, with Joseph Barksdale moving up to the first team at right tackle. This combination gives San Diego its best-possible offensive line, with King Dunlap at left tackle, Orlando Franklin at left guard, Chris Watt at center, and Fluker-Barksdale on the right side.

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker is down to 345 pounds.

Fluker ballooned to 353 pounds late in 2014. Coming off a down season, San Diego is hoping better conditioning will allow Fluker to have a bounce back year.

The Chargers plan to keep D.J. Fluker at right tackle.

There were reports Fluker could move inside after his pass protection declined in 2014, but GM Tom Telesco said the plan is for him to stay put. The Chargers are hoping Fluker can build on his strong play down the stretch last season. Fluker was PFF's No. 56 tackle among 83 qualifiers.

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker (concussion) returned to practice on Friday.

Fluker still may miss Sunday's bout with New England, but it's a good sign that his concussion wasn't severe. He suffered it in Wednesday's practice.

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker suffered a concussion in Wednesday's practice.

Fluker has been struggling as a sophomore, but played almost every snap through the season's first 12 games. He'll almost certainly miss Week 14, and should be considered week to week.

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker (questionable, ankle) is expected to play in Week 6 against the Raiders.

Fluker went down in the second half of last Sunday's win. He missed two practices this week, but was upgraded to full on Friday. His ankle injury shouldn't end up costing him any time. Fluker has allowed 10 quarterback hurries and a sack through five games.

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker (ankle) left the stadium on crutches Sunday.

Fluker went down in the second half and was replaced by Willie Smith. The Chargers are really banged up right now, but they get the pleasure of facing the Raiders in Week 6.

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker underwent an MRI on his knee Tuesday.

Fluker finished out Monday's loss to the Cardinals, so it's quite possible the test is simply precautionary. An MRI suggests some level of concern, however. Willie Smith is the Bolts' No. 3 tackle.

Chargers GM Tom Telesco said he still views D.J. Fluker's best position as right tackle.

Fluker, the No. 11 overall pick in the draft, shifted to left tackle for the Week 11 loss at Miami. He proceeded to have his worst game of the season. Still, it's been a promising rookie campaign for Fluker, who has graded out as ProFootballFocus' No. 46 overall tackle. Fellow first-round rookies Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel and Lane Johnson have all graded out worse.

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker (questionable, calf) is practicing Saturday.

Fluker practiced for the second straight day after being limited on Friday. He suffered a calf injury on a block of Raiders LB Sio Moore last week, but there's been no indication he won't be available for Monday night's game with the Colts.

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker (concussion) has been ruled out of Sunday's Week 3 game against the Titans.

Fluker suffered a concussion during Wednesday's practice and was officially listed as questionable. His absence is a blow to Ryan Mathews and the Chargers' running game. Michael Harris will draw the start at right tackle in his place.

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker was held out of Thursday's practice after suffering a concussion in Wednesday's session.

He's out for Week 3, severely weakening an offensive line that had been a pleasant surprise for the Chargers through two games. They'll now be forced to go with Mike Harris opposite LT King Dunlap against a Titans defense that's notched five sacks through two games. Philip Rivers' hot start will be put to the test.

Chargers signed No. 11 overall pick RT D.J. Fluker to a four-year, $11.4 million contract.

Fluker will step right into the lineup for the Chargers, who desperately need better play from their offensive line. Fluker's sheer size could be his best attribute right off the bat. However, how he fares in pass protection remains to be seen.

Chargers selected Alabama RT D.J. Fluker with the No. 11 overall pick.

Fluker (6-foot-4 5/8, 339) was a 35-game starter for the Crimson Tide, making all of them at right tackle. Although Fluker possesses vine-like 36 3/4-inch arms, he's not suited to block on an island and slow feet will keep him on the right side or perhaps even kick Fluker inside to guard. Fluker ran a 5.31 forty with a 1.81 ten-yard split in Indianapolis. As a senior, he allowed 5.5 sacks and 15.5 hurries of quarterback A.J. McCarron. San Diego is still reeling on the offensive line. We're not sure their pass protection got any better with this pick.
