Chargers GM Tom Telesco said he still views D.J. Fluker's best position as right tackle.
Fluker, the No. 11 overall pick in the draft, shifted to left tackle for the Week 11 loss at Miami. He proceeded to have his worst game of the season. Still, it's been a promising rookie campaign for Fluker, who has graded out as ProFootballFocus' No. 46 overall tackle. Fellow first-round rookies Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel and Lane Johnson have all graded out worse. Thu, Nov 21, 2013 09:28:00 AM

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker (questionable, calf) is practicing Saturday.

Fluker practiced for the second straight day after being limited on Friday. He suffered a calf injury on a block of Raiders LB Sio Moore last week, but there's been no indication he won't be available for Monday night's game with the Colts.

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker (concussion) has been ruled out of Sunday's Week 3 game against the Titans.

Fluker suffered a concussion during Wednesday's practice and was officially listed as questionable. His absence is a blow to Ryan Mathews and the Chargers' running game. Michael Harris will draw the start at right tackle in his place.

Chargers RT D.J. Fluker was held out of Thursday's practice after suffering a concussion in Wednesday's session.

He's out for Week 3, severely weakening an offensive line that had been a pleasant surprise for the Chargers through two games. They'll now be forced to go with Mike Harris opposite LT King Dunlap against a Titans defense that's notched five sacks through two games. Philip Rivers' hot start will be put to the test.

Chargers signed No. 11 overall pick RT D.J. Fluker to a four-year, $11.4 million contract.

Fluker will step right into the lineup for the Chargers, who desperately need better play from their offensive line. Fluker's sheer size could be his best attribute right off the bat. However, how he fares in pass protection remains to be seen.

Chargers selected Alabama RT D.J. Fluker with the No. 11 overall pick.

Fluker (6-foot-4 5/8, 339) was a 35-game starter for the Crimson Tide, making all of them at right tackle. Although Fluker possesses vine-like 36 3/4-inch arms, he's not suited to block on an island and slow feet will keep him on the right side or perhaps even kick Fluker inside to guard. Fluker ran a 5.31 forty with a 1.81 ten-yard split in Indianapolis. As a senior, he allowed 5.5 sacks and 15.5 hurries of quarterback A.J. McCarron. San Diego is still reeling on the offensive line. We're not sure their pass protection got any better with this pick.

Alabama RT D.J. Fluker is maintaining his Twitter account was hacked when he posted that he had taken money from agents in college.

"I'm not frustrated about it because, at the end of the day, it wasn't me," Fluker said. "(NFL teams) know it's not me. They look at my Twitter and see it's all Bible verses or motivational tweets." At this point, Fluker would probably be better off just letting the story die than continuing to bring it up. Fluker has been connected as high as the Cardinals at No. 7, but that would be unusually early for an offensive-line prospect that doesn't play left tackle.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Cardinals are "extremely high" on Alabama RT D.J. Fluker.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline reported Friday the Cardinals "would consider" Fluker at No. 7. Arizona has also been strongly connected to Oklahoma LT Lane Johnson. The Cardinals are shaping up as a good bet to address their shaky line with their first pick.

Alabama RT D.J. Fluker is insisting his Twitter account had been hacked when he tweeted he took money from agents in college.

"Yea I took $ n college so wat. I did wat i had to do. Agents was tryin to pimp me so I pimped them. Cast da 1st stone," Fluker — or the alleged "hacker" — tweeted Monday evening. If it was a hack, it was remarkably specific. It's unlikely to greatly affect Fluker's draft stock, but it won't help a player whose "study and work habits" have been questioned. Fluker has been strongly linked to a number of teams picking in the top-12.

NFL Draft insider Tony Pauline reports the Titans and Chargers are both considering Alabama RT D.J. Fluker at Nos. 10 and 11, respectively.

Our best guess is Tennessee ends up with North Carolina OG Jonathan Cooper at No. 10 and San Diego will take Fluker at 11, but it's not out of the question that they flip-flop. The Titans reportedly view Fluker as a "day-one starter" at right guard, and he would offer superior power-blocking ability to Cooper.

According to NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah, there's "lots of buzz" Alabama RT D.J. Fluker will come off the board before college teammate OG Chance Warmack.

Both players have been ticketed for the first half of the first round for some time now, but the media is beginning to catch up with what teams have thought all along. Fluker has versatility to play both right tackle and right guard and offers more positional value than Warmack. Pure guards like Warmack almost unfailingly go lower than mocks project. (See David DeCastro last year.)

"Several scouts" around the NFL have expressed concerns about Alabama RT D.J. Fluker's "study and work habits."

"Great kid, but you don't want him doing your taxes," said one scout. Another scout compared Fluker to a stronger, more competitive version of Bryan Bulaga, but "maybe not as smart." Fluker bounced around three high schools because his family was forced out of New Orleans due to Hurricane Katrina. It's not surprising he may be learning-deficient. We still like Fluker to be a top-12 pick.

NFL Draft insider Tony Pauline has heard from "separate sources" that the Cardinals "will consider" Alabama RT D.J. Fluker at the No. 7 pick.

Pauline is the best news man in the draft business, but we sometimes get wary that some of his information is agent-driven. Just 11 days ago, Pauline called Fluker a "real possibility" for the Dolphins at No. 12. We wouldn't be surprised to see Fluker go 11th to the Chargers or anywhere in the top 15, but the seventh pick would be an obvious reach. Fluker would also add another suspect pass protector to a Cardinals offensive line that already struggles to pass protect.

ESPN's Mel Kiper believes the Dolphins should draft Alabama RT D.J. Fluker with the No. 12 overall pick.

It's particularly notable because Tony Pauline recently reported Fluker is a "real possibility" at No. 12. Kiper calls Fluker "the best run-blocking right tackle to come out in years." Kiper also believes Fluker is a "much better pass blocker than people gave him credit for." No longer viewed as a candidate to move to guard, Fluker seems like a lock top-20 selection at this point.

Sources tell TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline that Alabama RT D.J. Fluker is a "real possibility" for the Dolphins at No. 12.

Perhaps this is why ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Monday that Fluker is "one of true rising players in draft." The Dolphins are widely believed to be eyeing a tackle with their first-round pick, but it was believed they'd seek a blindside protector. Teams don't spend high first-round picks on right tackles. GM Jeff Ireland would be drafting for need instead of value, and also committing shaky second-year pro Jonathan Martin to left tackle.
