Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti admitted the team "considered" making a coaching change after missing the playoffs in 2017.
"Certainly, it was a thought," he said at Friday's press conference. Bisciotti was pleased the team was able to overcome a slow start in 2017, but after falling short of the playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons, it appears Harbaugh is officially on the hot seat. For Harbaugh to keep his job, the Ravens need to take a big step forward on offense next season. Only five teams in the league produced fewer yards than Baltimore in 2017. Feb 2 - 1:58 PM

Ravens signed coach John Harbaugh to a one-year extension through 2019.

It's a notable vote of confidence, as Harbaugh wasn't headed into a contract year and has missed the playoffs three of the past four seasons. The Ravens are correct in their assessment that Harbaugh is one of the league's best coaches, and shouldn't be allowed to get away. The Super Bowl XLVII champion has gone 85-59 (.590) in nine years as head coach.

MMQB's Albert Breer reports Ravens coach John Harbaugh, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis, Saints coach Sean Payton, and Panthers coach Ron Rivera discussed adjusting the offseason work rules to allow more time with players with league officials this week.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians and Browns coach Hue Jackson also spoke on the topic during a larger session, and Breer reports almost all if not all coaches are on the same page. "Our players like when we coach them," Texans coach Bill O’Brien said. "I just think for this game to keep going the way it’s going, and it’s an awesome game, we need more time with the players." The newest CBA reduced each team's offseason program from 14 weeks to nine and limited the time coaches can spend doing on-field work with the players. Many coaches believe these limitations have hurt player development and the product on the field. With basically every coach campaigning, it will be surprising if the work rules are not adjusted in the next CBA.

The Baltimore Sun reports the Ravens are "highly unlikely" to move on from John Harbaugh after the season.

There’s been rumblings over Harbaugh’s future after missing the playoffs three of the last four years. The Ravens haven’t given any indication his job's in question. Harbaugh is safe for at least one more year after an extension last offseason, but will be on the spot in 2017.

ESPN's Jamison Hensley reports Ravens coach John Harbaugh is signed beyond 2017.

There was some speculation Harbaugh was entering a contract year, but that's not the case. Wrapping up his ninth year as head coach, Harbaugh has had one losing season, though the Ravens have made the playoffs just once in the past four years. Harbaugh won't necessarily be on the hot seat in 2017, but it will be a critical year.

The Ravens have been fined and stripped of three OTAs sessions for having players practice in pads at rookie minicamp.

"We made a mistake and we are sorry for that," the team said in a statement. "We accept the NFL discipline." We highly doubt there was any "mistake." It defies belief the team could have not have known rookies aren't allowed to pad up. The Ravens have become increasingly "unfamiliar" with certain NFL rules in recent years.

Profootballtalk reports two teams "covet" Ravens coach John Harbaugh, but that he's fully expected to remain in Baltimore.

The Eagles were known to be interested, but owner Steve Bisciotti said Thursday they never formally reached out. The second team is unknown. There's no known discord between the two sides. The Ravens seem to know they'd be crazy to move on from a coach whose team has made the playoffs in 6-of-8 seasons, winning Super Bowl XLVII in 2012-13.

NFL Network's Albert Breer reports John Harbaugh will stay in Baltimore.

A report said Harbaugh was Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie's top choice to replace Chip Kelly, but that was never going to happen. Harbaugh is happy in Baltimore, and the Ravens were never going to let him leave. Harbaugh has two years left on his deal.

The Ravens quietly added one year to coach John Harbaugh's contract earlier this offseason.

Owner Steve Bisciotti extended Harbs' deal to "show support" after Baltimore missed the playoffs for the first time in a half-decade. Harbaugh was previously signed through 2016. He now has four years left on his contract. Harbaugh, 51, holds a 62-34 record through six seasons as Ravens head coach. He's won double-digit games in 4-of-6 seasons and the Super Bowl in 2012-2013.

Newsome is only 57 years old and said he will be back at work Monday afternoon to review tape. "I'm fine," he said. "All my tests were normal and there is nothing wrong with me. They didn't find anything."

Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome left Sunday's Week 11 game against the Bears at Soldier Field in an ambulance after he wasn't "feeling well."

The team issued the following statement: "Ozzie Newsome did not feel well after today's game and a team doctor recommended that Ozzie not fly tonight." Newsome, 57, was sweating profusely after the overtime loss and was whisked away in an ambulance for precautionary reasons. He doesn't have any prior known medical conditions. Newsome will likely be checked out before heading home Sunday night or Monday. He's been the team's GM for over a decade.

Ravens signed head coach John Harbaugh to a four-year extension through 2016.

It's Harbaugh's reward for winning Super Bowl XLVII, as he still had two years remaining on his old contract. The new deal supersedes Harbaugh's old one. He'll reportedly make "nearly $7 million" per season. The Ravens' coach since 2008, Harbaugh has never missed the playoffs, or lost an opener. The former special teams coordinator boasts a 54-26 lifetime record.
