Saints agreed to terms with LB Danny Clark.
Clark's calling card is his versatility, as he can play all three linebacker spots. The Saints rotated him on the strong side last season, and Clark also played some on special teams. At age 34, he's an end-of-the-roster type. Fri, Jul 29, 2011 01:02:00 PM

Saints signed LB Danny Clark and released TE Tory Humphrey.

The Saints will go with three tight ends: rookie Jimmy Graham behind starter Jeremy Shockey and David Thomas. Clark has experience as a starting strong-side linebacker, and will put pressure on Jo-Lonn Dunbar at the position.

Texans released LB Danny Clark and claimed LB David Nixon off waivers from the Raiders.

The club will go with a cheaper option in Nixon. Clark's release does make it more likely that Xavier Adibi will open the year as Houston's starting strong-side linebacker. Adibi has recovered fully from his groin strain.

Texans OLB Danny Clark sprained his knee in Saturday's preseason game against the Saints.

Clark appears to have a mere strain, but coach Gary Kubiak warned that he didn't know how serious the injury is. The Texans will need Clark for depth while Brian Cushing serves his suspension.

Texans agreed to terms with OLB Danny Clark, formerly of the Giants, on an undisclosed contract.

A below-average starter for much of last season, the 33-year-old will offer insurance for the Texans while Brian Cushing serves out his four-game suspension. Zach Diles is expected to fill in on the strong side while Xavier Adibi and rookie Darryl Sharpton compete for the weak-side job. Clark will likely back up Diles.

Impending free agent LB Danny Clark is not expected back with the Giants.

The team needs to get 2009 second-round pick Clint Sintim into the lineup more. Clark will offer versatility on the open market, but no upside at age 33.

Danny Clark is leading the competition to start at weak-side linebacker for the Giants over Gerris Wilkinson and Bryan Kehl.

The winner won't have Osi Umenyiora in front of him and probably won't produce more than 80 tackles. We'd avoid this position in IDP leagues.

Giants agreed to terms with LB Danny Clark, formerly of the Texans. NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the deal is for two years and $4 million.

The sides were close to striking a deal early Wednesday afternoon, but terms weren't agreed upon until late last night. Gerris Wilkinson remains the slight favorite to be New York's starting weak-side linebacker this year.

Updating a previous report, free agent LB Danny Clark did not sign with the Giants on Wednesday.

One report jumped the gun on his signing. Clark is believed to have left New York without a deal. The Giants could revisit him at a later time.

Giants signed LB Danny Clark, formerly of the Texans.

While it's clear Clark hasn't been more than an average starter, he's put up numbers when given the chance. Clark will likely be the Giants' main backup at both outside positions, behind Mathias Kiwanuka and Gerris Wilkinson.

Free agent LB Danny Clark is visiting with the Giants Wednesday.

Clark would provide depth at linebacker after Reggie Torbor's recent exit, but he's mostly seen as a core special teamer.

Free agent LB Danny Clark is visiting the Raiders on Thursday.

Clark knows coordinator Rob Ryan's scheme, having started at middle linebacker for him in 2005. He won't be a threat to Kirk Morrison if he signs.

Danny Clark won the Texans' battle at strong-side linebacker.

Clark will have some pass-rushing opportunities in coordinator Richard Smith's defense, but will likely share time with Charlie Anderson and Shantee Orr. In other battles, Steve McKinney overtook Mike Flanagan at center and Travis Johnson moved past Anthony Maddox at defensive tackle.

Texans signed LB Danny Clark to a one-year contract.

A productive starter for Oakland in 2005, Clark barely played in the Saints' base defense all last season. He'll either back up DeMeco Ryans or compete with Shantee Orr at strong-side linebacker in Houston.

Saints linebacker Danny Clark has been served papers in a paternity suit involving a Chicago-area woman.

The woman claims that Clark, Mark Simoneau's top backup in the middle, is the father of her son. Clark was active for Sunday's game.
