Dolphins signed QB Zac Dysert to a reserve/future contract.

The Texans cut Dysert in November after claiming Brandon Weeden off waivers. Dysert broke Ben Roethlisberger's school record for passing yards at Miami of Ohio but has never played an NFL snap. Denver drafted him in the seventh round in 2013.

Texans signed QB Zac Dysert to the practice squad.

Dysert was a draftnik favorite in the weak 2013 quarterback class, but has never taken a regular-season snap after being a sixth-round pick. He spent time in both Denver and Chicago this offseason, but was beaten out by both Trevor Siemian and David Fales, respectively. Dysert is Houston's de facto No. 3 QB.

Bears waived QB Zac Dysert.

Dysert was claimed off waivers from the Broncos four days ago. David Fales appears to have a job if the Bears keep three quarterbacks.

Bears claimed QB Zac Dysert off waivers from the Broncos.

Dysert played for coach John Fox and OC Adam Gase in Denver, but spent 2014 on the practice squad. He's insurance against backup Jimmy Clausen's concussion.

Dysert was beaten out by rookie Trevor Siemian. Denver also waived/released ILB Reggie Walker, CB Tevrin Brandon, G Andre Davis, TE Joe Don Duncan, P Spencer Lanning, S Ross Madison, TE Jake Murphy, RB Jeremy Stewart and OLB Chase Vaughn. After placing rookie TE Jeff Heuerman on injured reserve, Denver needs to make four more roster moves ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

Broncos signed QB Zac Dysert to the practice squad.

Somewhat surprisingly, Dysert cleared waivers following his Saturday release. He spent 2013 on the active roster. Dysert completed 12-of-18 passes for 106 yards (5.8 YPA) and a touchdown this preseason. He'll develop on the practice squad as Brock Osweiler backs up Peyton Manning.

Broncos waived QB Zac Dysert.

The Broncos are only going to roll with Brock Osweiler behind Peyton Manning for now. Dysert went 12-of-19 for 106 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in two preseason appearances. He's a strong candidate for Denver's practice squad, but could draw multiple claims.

Broncos No. 3 QB Zac Dysert finished Saturday night's intrasquad scrimmage 7-of-8 passing for 112 yards.

His lone misfire was a throwaway. A seventh-round pick in the 2013 draft and draftnik favorite coming out of Miami (OH), Dysert has "made tremendous strides since last year," according to Peyton Manning. If Manning retires following this season, Dysert could push Brock Osweiler to be Denver's 2015 starter.

Zac Dysert has made the Broncos as their No. 3 quarterback.

Ideally, the Broncos would have tried to slide Dysert onto their practice squad. But that would have exposed the seventh-round rookie to waivers. "We thought it was in our best interests to protect him," said John Elway. Denver will be one of the few teams to carry three quarterbacks on the active roster Week 1.

Broncos seventh-round QB Zac Dysert appears headed for the practice squad.

The Broncos will roll with only Peyton Manning and the rapidly improving Brock Osweiler on the active roster. Dysert hasn't even played in either of the last two exhibition games.

Broncos signed seventh-round QB Zac Dysert to a four-year contract.

A favorite of Rotoworld draft guru Josh Norris, Dysert was a four-year starter at Miami (OH). Dysert was hurt by a lot of dropped passes and poor line play as a Redhawk, but he's cool under pressure and has a strong-enough arm. He could eventually push Brock Osweiler for No. 2 duties with the Broncos.
