Steelers signed RB Jawan Jamison.

A 2013 seventh-round pick, Jamison struggled with conditioning issues and was released by Washington back in March. The Steelers waived RB Alvester Alexander in a corresponding move.

Redskins waived/released RB Jawan Jamison, RB Davin Meggett, and TE Richard Quinn.

Jamison was the 228th pick in last April's draft but showed up to camp out of shape and didn't contribute as a rookie. Quinn is a former second-round pick of the Broncos. Meggett is the son of former Giants star, Dave.

Redskins RB Jawan Jamison reportedly showed up to his rookie-year training camp out of shape.

As beat writer John Keim notes, it's "inexcusable" for a seventh-round pick to report to his first training camp anything short of peak condition. The 228th pick in last year's draft, Jamison will be a huge long shot for a 2014 roster spot. We were not impressed by Jamison's game tape at Rutgers, either.

Redskins promoted RB Jawan Jamison from the practice squad.

The Redskins needed a running back after Evan Royster was sent to injured reserve with an ankle injury. A seventh-round pick in April's draft, Jamison was released at final cuts after an unimpressive training camp. He's unlikely to get any run in the season's final three games.

Redskins signed RB Jawan Jamison, OL Will Compton, CB Chase Minnifield, WR Nick Williams, C Tevita Stevens, and OT Xavier Nixon to their practice squad.

The Redskins strongly considered keeping Minnifield on their 53-man roster, but opted for old Jim Haslett pal Jerome Murphy instead. Jamison was the 228th overall pick in April's draft. He was beaten out by Chris Thompson.

Redskins waived RB Jawan Jamison.

Jamison quickly fell behind Roy Helu and Evan Roster. The seventh-round rookie rushed 16 times for 54 yards (3.37 YPC) in the preseason. Jamison might be regretting declaring for the draft after his redshirt sophomore season at Rutgers.

The Washington Post doesn't consider Redskins rookie RB Jawan Jamison in the mix for a roster spot.

Jamison hasn't shown well in camp, and didn't notch a carry in last week's regular season dress rehearsal. He'll get one final chance to showcase his wares in Thursday's preseason finale. He should be stashed on the practice squad.

According to the Washington Post, Redskins seventh-round RB Jawan Jamison hasn't "looked exceptional" in camp.

That's a problem, as Jamison will have to be exceptional to crack the Redskins' crowded running back corps. Showing well in Thursday's preseason opener could immediately change his fortunes, however. Jamison needs to out-shine plodding third-year pro Evan Royster.

Redskins agreed to terms with No. 228 overall pick RB Jawan Jamison on a four-year contract.

Jamison left Rutgers with two years of eligibility left because he needed to financially support his mother. At just 5'7/203, he needed to run fast at the Combine. He didn't, clocking in at 4.68. Jamison will have to impress at camp to win a roster spot ahead of Roy Helu, Evan Royster or fellow rookie Chris Thompson.

Redskins selected Rutgers RB Jawan Jamison with the No. 228 overall pick.

Jamison (5-foot-7 3/8, 203) spent two seasons as a Scarlet Knight before declaring for the draft as a redshirt sophomore. He rushed 486 times for 1,972 yards (4.06 YPC) and 13 touchdowns, also catching 36 passes. Jamison ran poorly at the Combine, both in the forty (4.68) and ten-yard split (1.66). On tape, Jamison shows some open-field cutting ability but is small and runs small, and lacks explosive run skills. The Redskins have now used two late-round picks on running backs -- Jamison and Chris Thompson -- which puts Roy Helu and Evan Royster on notice. Alfred Morris' starting job is in no way threatened.
