Zac Stacy rushed seven times for 25 yards in the Rams' Week 13 win over the Raiders.
St. Louis won this game 52-0 and was able to get Stacy involved. Entering the game, he hadn't had a carry since late October. Stacy is a shaky handcuff for Tre Mason's fantasy owners because he would likely split work with Benny Cunningham and/or Trey Watts if something unfortunate happened to Mason. Nov 30 - 4:56 PM

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy hasn't played a snap since Week 8.

In other words, Stacy isn't even worth an end-of-roster spot in 14-team leagues. He's been completely phased out of the Rams' offense. Stacy has a dicey future in Dynasty leagues, but should probably be held through at least the spring.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy did not take a snap in the Rams' Week 9 win over the 49ers.

Tre Mason dominated the early-down work, and Benny Cunningham sprinkled in on passing downs. Stacy does not have a role in the Rams' offense right now, and is droppable in all formats.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy rushed for 17 yards on five carries in the Rams' Week 8 loss to the Chiefs, adding three catches for 20 yards.

Back from sideline banishment in Week 7 when he played just one offensive snap, Stacy was the third back through the rotation on Sunday, tying Tre Mason for the team lead with eight touches. Benny Cunningham, who got the start, received five touches. Stacy also dropped a pass. None of the three backs will be recommended fantasy plays next week in San Francisco. It's a full-blown committee.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy didn't register a single touch in the Rams' Week 7 win over the Seahawks.

Benny Cunningham got the start for the Rams, with Stacy playing just one snap all afternoon. But it was Tre Mason who took control of the backfield by out-touching Cunningham 18-7. Stacy isn't injured, as he was seen on the sideline just waiting to see if he'd play. He simply hasn't been effective all season, and the Rams are making a switch. Stacy can now safely be dropped in 12- and 14-team leagues as the Rams' No. 3 running back. He's a slow mover who doesn't do anything in the pass game. He's Matt Asiata and Shonn Greene's child.

Rams OC Brian Schottenheimer confirmed the team is using a "hot hand" approach at running back.

"Early in the game, we try to get guys multiple touches," Schottenheimer said, "then we try to go with the hot hand late in the game." The approach explains why Zac Stacy has averaged 12.2 carries this season after seeing 20.8 carries a start last season. With Tre Mason now in the mix, Stacy should see his share of the workload fall even farther. He is not worth a start against the Seahawks this week, and could be playing himself out of fantasy relevancy.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy (ankle) is listed as probable for Week 7.

After almost single-handedly giving St. Louis a competitive offense in 2013, Stacy has been reduced to a timeshare back in 2014. He is practicing in full and will play against Seattle, but may not get more than ten touches.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy (ankle) returned to Rams practice Thursday, getting in a full session.

Wednesday was just a day of rest for the Rams' theoretical No. 1 back. Stacy's health is not a concern, but his increasing rotation with Benny Cunningham and Tre Mason is. Stacy can't be trusted as more than a low-end RB3 for Week 7.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

Coach Jeff Fisher said there were "no physical issues" with Stacy in Monday's loss to the 49ers, but he's now apparently dealing with an ankle injury. Benny Cunningham led the Rams' backfield in snaps in Week 6, with Tre Mason also mixing in. Stacy's status will be updated again on Thursday.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Speaking Tuesday, Rams coach Jeff Fisher confirmed there were "no physical issues" with Zac Stacy in Monday's loss to the 49ers.

Fisher said the team simply wanted to use three running backs, and has "no problem" using a committee going forward. Stacy was the Rams' least-successful runner against the 49ers, managing only 17 yards on eight carries. Benny Cunningham went 7/21, while rookie Tre Mason took the rock five times for 40 yards. We wouldn't call Stacy outright droppable in 12-team leagues, but this situation promises to be a mess for weeks to come, especially against the Seahawks' elite run defense in Week 7.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy played on just 26-of-76 snaps (34.2 percent) in Monday night's loss to the 49ers.

Stacy is still the "starter," but he's been getting outplayed by Benny Cunningham (39 snaps) since the preseason. The Rams are now turning to a committee. Tre Mason (nine snaps) will continue to earn more and more looks as the team's best pure runner at the expense of Stacy. Owners should not want to mess with this backfield as starting options right now, especially against the Seahawks in Week 7.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy rushed for 17 yards on eight carries in the Rams' Week 6 loss to the 49ers.

Stacy got the start after leaving last week's loss with a calf injury. He was similarly ineffective as he has been all season, however. The Rams ran a three-man committee in the backfield with Stacy leading the charge at eight carries. Benny Cunningham saw seven totes and scored a one-yard touchdown, while rookie Tre Mason made his debut and led the Rams with 40 yards on five carries. Mason was easily the most impressive, and could see increased work next week vs. Seattle. Stacy has entered Shonn Greene plodder mode and is an RB2/3.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy (calf) is listed as probable for Monday night's game against the 49ers.

Stacy was held out on Thursday, but is good to go after practicing in full the last two days. It remains possible that he could lose work to backups Benny Cunningham and Trey Watts at less than 100 percent. Stacy is Rotoworld's No. 26 running back for Week 6.

Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy (calf) returned to practice on Friday.

Stacy practiced without limitations after being held out on Thursday. He's dealing with a strained calf, but it's not expected to keep him out of Monday night's game. Stacy could lose work to Benny Cunningham and Trey Watts at less than full health, and will be just a low-end RB2.
Oct 10 - 7:09 PM
Zac Stacy - RB - Rams

Zac Stacy (calf) was held out of Rams practice Thursday.

Coach Jeff Fisher has already said that Stacy will miss some practice time this week, but should be good to go for Monday's game against the 49ers. We'll take Fisher at his word, but at less than 100 percent against a strong run defense, Stacy is a low-end RB2 who could lose work to backups Benny Cunningham and Trey Watts.
