With Sammy Watkins (foot) out, Marquise Goodwin is expected to be the Bills' featured receiver against the Cardinals in Week 3.
Good luck with that. Goodwin torched washed-up Darrelle Revis for an 84-yard touchdown in Week 2 but was useless otherwise, connecting on just one-of-four targets for 28 yards the rest of the night. Though Goodwin is set up for an increased workload with Watkins out and Charles Clay (knee) banged up, he has a nightmare matchup waiting against Arizona's elite secondary. It's possible he'll draw coverage from All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson. Goodwin won't be a recommended fantasy play in Week 3. Sep 25 - 9:01 AM

Bills WR Marquise Goodwin is in the league's concussion protocol.

Goodwin banged his head on the turf on the last play of the game. Prior to that, he roasted Darrelle Revis for an 84-yard touchdown. It will likely be the highlight of Goodwin's season, possibly even his career.
Sep 16 - 10:51 AM

Bills WR Marquise Goodwin caught 2-of-5 targets for 108 yards and a touchdown in Buffalo's Week 2 loss to the Jets.

The Olympic sprinter ran right by Darrelle Revis in the first quarter, catching a perfectly-lofted pass in stride and never looking back as he scored an 84-yard touchdown. He went mostly silent for the rest of the night. Goodwin's 108 yards this evening represent 23.6 percent of his career total. There are plenty of goose eggs in the fourth-year pro's 2016 future.
Sep 16 - 12:18 AM

Bills WR Marquise Goodwin has cleared the NFL's concussion protocol.

He'll be good to go in Week 1. A tiny (5'9/183) deep threat with 4.27 jets, Goodwin will open the year as Buffalo's No. 3 receiver behind Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods. Goodwin should play around half of the snaps in the opener.
Sep 2 - 2:16 PM

Bills WR Marquise Goodwin is in the concussion protocol.

Goodwin appeared to hit his head on the turf late in practice Tuesday. He is unlikely to play this week, but he should be good to go for the season opener. Goodwin is the favorite for the No. 3 job.
Aug 23 - 12:20 PM

Marquise Goodwin has the early edge for Buffalo's No. 3 receiver job.

Goodwin has been a training camp standout, running consistently with the first-team offense. He's ahead of Greg Salas, Leonard Hankerson, and Dez Lewis at this stage. Buffalo has one of the weakest depth charts in the league behind Sammy Watkins, but Goodwin isn't more than a deep threat.
Aug 13 - 3:57 PM

ABC Buffalo's Joe Buscaglia believes Marquise Goodwin will not only make the Bills' 53-man roster, but "have a legitimate role in the offense."

Buscaglia has to provide the usual Goodwin caveat "as long as he stays healthy." Per Buscaglia, Goodwin has "consistently" run with the first-team, and "made a great deal of plays all throughout." The No. 78 overall pick of the 2013 draft, Goodwin has proven a one-trick pony speedster who rarely even does his one trick. He has 20 career catches, 17 of which came his rookie year. He could earn a role, but it won't lead to fantasy relevance.

Aug 9 - 4:43 PM

Bills WR Marquise Goodwin said he is "banged up" following his attempt to qualify for the Rio Olympics.

"I'm going to rest first," Goodwin said of his plans. "I haven't had any rest in a long time, so my body is banged up — I feel like I played eight or nine games and I'm in week 10 already." Goodwin reportedly tweaked his hamstring during Olympic Trials this week, an ailment which could have contributed to his failure to qualify in the long jump. With only a month before training camp, he might need to be eased into action.
Jul 4 - 10:59 AM

Bills WR Marquise Goodwin failed to qualify for the Rio Olympics when he managed an 8.17-meter long jump at Sunday's Olympic trials.

Goodwin needed to finish top three in the event to qualify for this summer's Olympic games. The best long jump among American athletes was 8.25 meters. The Bills were expected to move on from Goodwin if he qualified, but he is now expected to report to training camp. A 2013 third-round pick out of Texas, Goodwin has managed 20 career receptions through three NFL seasons.
Jul 3 - 9:36 PM

Joe Buscaglia of WBKO Buffalo expects the Bills to move on from WR Marquise Goodwin if he qualifies for the Olympics.

It's an issue of timing. The long jump, which is Goodwin's main event, takes place on August 13. Even if Goodwin makes it back quickly, he'll have already missed half of training camp. Goodwin is undersized (5'9/179) and might be even slimmer after Olympic training all summer. Even if Goodwin had passed on the Olympics, he would have faced long odds to make the Bills' 53-man roster.
Jun 17 - 3:19 PM

Bills coach Rex Ryan admitted that Marquise Goodwin's prolonged absence could hurt his chances of making the team.

Goodwin is training for the Olympics as a long jumper and the team doesn't expect him back anytime soon. He's missed all voluntary workouts. "We are proud of the fact that he is representing our country, he is representing our football team, our community," said Ryan. "But yeah it is hurting him." Goodwin caught just two passes last year and is firmly on the roster bubble.
Jun 10 - 2:17 PM

Bills WR Marquise Goodwin said he will attempt to qualify for the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

A world-class long jumper, Goodwin will likely miss the offseason program and, if he qualifies, training camp. Goodwin said he will talk to the Bills about potentially missing time, but it is unclear if Buffalo would be willing to wait on the situational receiver. Goodwin is owed $675,000 in the final year of his rookie contract.

Jan 4 - 10:00 AM

Bills placed WR Marquise Goodwin on season-ending injured reserve with an injury to his ribs.

Goodwin originally fractured two ribs in the preseason and missed the first four games of the season. He aggravated the injury against the Bengals last week. Consistently injured and buried on the depth chart, Goodwin is not guaranteed a spot on the roster next season.

Marquise Goodwin (ribs) is practicing in full for Week 4.

Goodwin has been inactive each of the first three weeks. With Sammy Watkins (calf) looking doubtful against the Giants, Goodwin could see his first action.
