The Lions haven’t opened talks with Riddick, but could extend him closer to training camp. Riddick had a breakout 2015, leading all running backs with a 80/697/3 receiving line. 24-year-old Riddick is owed $675,000 in the final year of his rookie deal. Mar 12 - 7:19 PM

Theo Riddick rushed twice for four yards and caught 4-of-5 targets for 29 yards in the Lions' Week 17 win over the Bears.

Although Riddick remained ineffective on the ground in 2015 (3.09 YPC), he become one of the league's most dangerous receiving backs as a third-year pro. Riddick's 80 receptions led all NFL running backs, while his usage grew under interim OC Jim Bob Cooter as a high-percentage safety valve for Matthew Stafford. Riddick will enter his contract year in 2016. The poor man's Sproles turns 25 in May and should work in a similar role next season.
Jan 3 - 5:13 PM

Theo Riddick rushed seven times for 20 yards and caught 7-of-8 targets for 63 yards in the Lions' Week 16 win over San Francisco.

Although he remains deficient as a ball carrier, Riddick has emerged as one of the NFL's highest-impact pass-catching running backs this season. He's up to 76 receptions, breaking a Lions record for single-season catches by a running back and leading the league at his position. The Lions will wrap up their 2015 campaign in a Week 17 date with the Bears.

Theo Riddick logged two carries for three yards and caught both of his targets for 27 yards in the Lions' Week 15 win over the Saints.

Riddick contributed one of the game’s most memorable plays, juking Dannell Ellerbe right out of his shoes on a check-down pass in the first half. Unfortunately he wasn’t targeted again until about halfway through the fourth quarter. Riddick leads all running backs with 69 receptions this year. He’ll add to that total next week against the Niners.

Theo Riddick rushed three times for 18 yards and caught seven of 11 targets for 44 yards in the Lions' Week 14 loss to the Rams.

He led the Lions in targets. Most of his rushing yards came on a 16-yard run in the second quarter. Riddick did a nice job of changing fields on the play, starting right before putting his foot in the ground and switching to the left side behind a wall of blockers. Riddick leads all NFL running backs with 67 catches. He’ll be a PPR consideration next time out against New Orleans.

Theo Riddick caught 5-of-6 targets for 27 yards in the Lions' Week 13 loss to the Packers, adding a four-yard rush.

Riddick was inches away from a bigger night, but kept getting tripped up by solid Packers tackling. Riddick is on pace for 80 catches with 75 percent of the season in the books, but just 117 rushing yards. It's getting hard to even call him a running back at this point. Riddick will remain a PPR asset down the stretch.

Theo Riddick caught 5-of-5 targets for 62 yards and a touchdown in Detroit's Week 12 win over the Eagles, adding two rushes for six yards.

Riddick helped set the tone for the Lions' 45-14 blowout victory early, softening up the middle of the field. The score was his third of the season. Riddick has only 84 yards rushing on the year, but has caught at least five passes in 7-of-11 games. He's a PPR asset, but RB4 for standard league purposes.

Theo Riddick caught 5-of-6 targets for 72 yards in Detroit's Week 11 win over the Raiders, adding six rushes for 14 yards.

Riddick was absolutely money on Detroit's final possession, soaking up targets as the Lions ran out the clock. Riddick actually got the "start," but remained in a three-way rotation with Ameer Abdullah and Joique Bell. One of the league's most reliable pass-catching backs, Riddick will be an RB3 for Detroit's Thanksgiving showdown with the Eagles' collapsing run defense.

Theo Riddick rushed three times for one yard and caught all three of his targets for 25 yards Week 10 against the Packers.

Riddick did not get his usual complement of garbage time work in a game the Lions were winning throughout the second half, and his statline suffered for it. The good news is the Lions are still a bad team who should be losing most weeks, and Riddick is good for targets and yards in those situations. He will be worth a FLEX look in PPR formats against the Raiders.

Theo Riddick rushed five times for 17 yards and caught 6-of-7 targets for 30 yards Week 8 against the Chiefs.

Riddick rotated into the game before Ameer Abdullah, but he still played well behind Joique Bell when the game was in doubt. As has become the norm, he racked up all his catches with the Lions down big in the second half. Riddick is on pace for 84 catches after eight games, a mark he could reach with Detroit seemingly living in garbage time every week. He will be a PPR option Week 10 against the Packers.

Theo Riddick rushed three times for eight yards and caught 3-of-4 targets for 40 yards in the Lions' Week 7 loss to the Vikings.

Riddick's passing-game effectiveness has locked him in as an every-week staple in Detroit's offense. Unfortunately, Riddick lacks the between-the-tackles running chops to be more than a lightly-used scatback. He'll be a weak flex option in PPR leagues when the Lions take on Kansas City in Week 8.

Theo Riddick (groin) is probable for Week 7.

Riddick was limited in practice, but there was never any concern over his status after he played through his injury last week. Riddick is a gameflow-dependent RB3 against the Vikings.

Theo Riddick (groin) remained limited at Thursday's practice.

Riddick has become a fixture in PPR leagues on the strength of his 33 catches this year, which leads all NFL running backs. He'll play his usual passing-down role against the Vikings in Week 7.

Theo Riddick (groin) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Riddick played through his injury last week, totaling 78 yards on 10 touches. The Lions should get Joique Bell back Sunday, but it won't impact Riddick's role. Riddick's status isn't a Week 7 concern.

Theo Riddick carried the ball seven times for 28 yards and caught 3-of-6 targets for 50 yards Week 6 against the Bears.

Riddick had just one target at halftime, but he was forced into lead-back duties after Ameer Abdullah was benched for fumbling early in the third quarter. Riddick had a huge 34-yard catch-and-run to start what appeared to be the Lions' game-winning drive in the fourth quarter, and he gained positive yards on all but one of his carries. Considering the state of the Lions' running game, that is an accomplishment. With Joique Bell (ankle) still struggling with injuries, Ameer Abdullah fumbling and Zach Zenner (chest) uncertain, Riddick will be worth adding in most leagues.
