Theo Riddick underwent surgery on both of his wrists after the season.
The injuries cost Riddick the final four games of last season, and they might prevent him from participating in the offseason program. While roles throughout the rest of Detroit's backfield remain in flux and could be affected by the draft, Riddick should be locked in as the team's passing-down specialist. Under OC Jim Bob Cooter, the Lions have embraced a quick-pass offense that suits Riddick's skill set. He will again be a worthwhile mid-round investment in 2017 PPR drafts. Mar 26 - 2:53 PM

Lions placed RB Theo Riddick (wrist) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Riddick hadn't played since Week 13 and was already ruled out for Sunday night's game. He won't be available if the Lions advance to the playoffs. Zach Zenner and Dwayne Washington will remain a committee in Riddick's place.

Theo Riddick (wrist) is out for Week 17 against the Packers.

This will be his fourth straight absence. Zach Zenner and Dwayne Washington will lead the backfield in his absence, though Zenner is the more appealing fantasy option of the two.

Theo Riddick (wrist) is not practicing Friday.

He's looking doubtful for Sunday's big game that will determine the NFC North winner. If Riddick sits, Zach Zenner will be the preferred RB2 play.

Theo Riddick (wrist) remained sidelined on Thursday.

It looks like Riddick is going to end the regular season having missed four straight games. Zach Zenner and Dwayne Washington will handle running back duties for Sunday's must-win game against the Packers.

Theo Riddick (wrist) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.

Riddick apparently did more on the side field at practice last week, but he's not ready to return yet. We'll have another update on Thursday. Zach Zenner carried the rock well Monday against Dallas and will be an RB2 if Riddick sits.

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press said Theo Riddick (wrist) ramped up his "side work" last week.

Riddick has been sidelined since Week 13 and has not practiced in the last two weeks. Losers of their last two and in danger of falling out of the playoffs, the Lions could certainly use Riddick Sunday night against the Packers. Zach Zenner started against the Cowboys on Monday night and could get the nod again if Riddick sits.

Theo Riddick (wrist) is inactive for Week 16 against the Cowboys.

Darius Slay (hamstring) is also out after both players were listed as doubtful. Also inactive for Detroit are RB Joique Bell, C Travis Swanson, QB Jake Rudock, OT Cornelius Lucas, and DT Khyri Thornton. With Bell and Riddick out, Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner are the only available running backs.

Theo Riddick (wrist) is doubtful for Week 16 against the Cowboys.

Riddick is not going to play after sitting out practice all week. Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner will split the work with Riddick sidelined. Washington is the better fantasy play, but he is no better than an RB3.

Theo Riddick (wrist) is "considered doubtful" for Week 16.

Riddick's status won't be known until Saturday but he's not going to play after missing practice the last two days. Dwayne Washington is the favorite to lead Detroit in Week 16 carries and will be a back-end RB3 against Dallas.

Theo Riddick (wrist) remained sidelined at Friday's practice.

Riddick can be safely ruled out if he doesn't return to at least a limited practice on Saturday. He's been dealing with a wrist injury. If Riddick sits out on Monday night, which seems likely, Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner would share backfield duties against Dallas. Washington is the more appealing fantasy option but will merely be a back-end RB3 for championship week.

Theo Riddick (wrist) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Riddick has missed the last two games with a wrist injury. The Lions play on Monday this week, so at least Riddick will have a little extra time to get ready. Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner would split carries if Riddick can't get the green light against Dallas.
Thu, Dec 22, 2016 01:20:00 PM

Lions declared RB Theo Riddick, C Travis Swanson, DE Corey Lemonier, DT Stefan Charles, WR T.J. Jones, OT Cornelius Lucas, and QB Jake Rudock inactive for Week 15 against the Giants.

Riddick was listed as doubtful. Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner will handle the backfield work. Graham Glasgow starts in place of Swanson.

Theo Riddick (wrist) is listed as doubtful for Week 15 against the Giants.

Zach Zenner (concussion) is listed as questionable. With Riddick out in Week 14 against the Bears, Dwayne Washington logged 17 touches on over 60 percent of the snaps. Washington is assured of lead back duties against the Giants and could become a threat for 20-plus touches if Zenner sits. Daily Slant: The Giants are middle of the road in terms of rushing yards allowed per game (88.3 allowed to RBs per game), and if Washington can find his way into the end-zone on one of those looks he'll be a very solid $/pt DFS target. His yardage ceiling isn't terribly high, but with the Lions shorthanded it's possible he eats up more of the passing down work as well. In a raw points perspective, the floor is still fairly low, but relative to his price it's hard to argue with his potential workload. Zach Zenner's absence would only further bolster Washington's credibility.

Theo Riddick (wrist) remained sidelined at Friday's practice.

He hasn't practiced at all this week after missing Week 14, suggesting Riddick isn't ready to return. Look for Dwayne Washington to lead the Lions' backfield against the Giants, followed up by Zach Zenner and Joique Bell.
