Theo Riddick rushed eight times for 49 yards while catching all three of his targets for 12 yards in Saturday’s Week 15 win over the Bears.
Despite Ameer Abdullah returning from injury, Riddick started the game and played 30-of-40 snaps in the first half for the Lions. On his final snap of the first half, Riddick lost a fumble on a play that was set up to run out the clock, which Chicago recovered and turned into points right before the half. That just about ended Riddick’s night as he only returned for a third-down play in the third quarter in which he suffered a wrist injury. Riddick had offseason wrist surgery, so his situation will need to be monitored throughout the week, but if available, he is only an FLEX option next week against the Bengals. Dec 16 - 7:43 PM

Date:

Theo Riddick rushed 10 times for 29 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions' Week 14 win over the Bucs, adding six catches for 64 additional yards.

The rushing scores were just the fourth and fifth of Riddick's five-year career. The first was a two-yard bunny on an inside handoff. The second was a rugged 18-yarder where Riddick shed some tackles from the Bucs' awful defense. Despite the two-score day, Riddick isn't about to take the lead on early downs. He will remain best utilized in PPR leagues for the fantasy semifinals in Week 15.
Dec 10 - 5:06 PM

Theo Riddick rushed five times for 21 yards and a touchdown while adding 41 yards on five receptions in Sunday's Week 13 loss to the Ravens.

Riddick started the game in place of an injured Ameer Abdullah, but was out-carried by rookie Tion Green 11-to-5 in the game. Despite being the second option in the run game, Riddick got the first goal line opportunity and converted it into ta touchdown with a 4-yard run on the opening drive of the third quarter. Abdullah's injury doesn't appear to be long term, but if he misses any more time, Riddick will hold lower RB2 value in PPR formats in Week 14 at Tampa Bay.
Dec 3 - 5:31 PM

Theo Riddick rushed five times for 20 yards in the Lions' Thanksgiving loss to the Vikings, adding a 10-yard reception.

Riddick out-rushed Ameer Abdullah 20-14 on one fewer carry, but that's not saying much. Abdullah has been ineffective enough to create an opening for Riddick on early downs, but Riddick doesn't have the skill-set to take advantage. He figures to remain limited to low-end RB3/4 status in PPR leagues.
Nov 23 - 4:49 PM

Theo Riddick contributed 35 yards on nine carries while adding one catch for four yards on two targets Sunday in the Lions’ Week 11 win over the Bears.

The 10 touches were Riddick’s most since Week 2, though his impact was still minimal. Known for being among the better pass-catching backs in the league, Riddick has managed just four catches for 16 yards on five targets over his last two outings. Even in deeper PPR leagues he’s becoming a tough sell as a starter. A breakout game Thursday against the Vikings, a team that held him to 12 yards from scrimmage in Week 4, seems unlikely.
Nov 19 - 6:15 PM

Theo Riddick rushed four times for 35 yards and caught three passes for 12 yards and a touchdown in Week 10 against the Browns.

Riddick scored a game-tying TD in the third quarter on a red-zone dumpoff. He didn't do much outside of an early 21-yard run, and finished with negative rushing yards in the second half. Riddick has been more involved the last two weeks and will be on the FLEX radar for Week 11.
Nov 12 - 4:43 PM

Theo Riddick rushed five times for 11 yards and caught all four of his targets for 62 yards in the Lions' Week 9 win over the Packers.

His longest run went for 14, and Riddick's big pass play on a blitz-beating screen went for 63 yards. Outside of those two plays, Riddick was consistently losing yards. He got one carry from the one-yard line after Ameer Abdullah fumbled on first-and-goal, but Riddick predictably didn't punch it in the end zone. He's allergic to scoring. Riddick will be an RB3/4 next week vs. Cleveland.
Nov 7 - 12:05 AM

Theo Riddick rushed four times for 21 yards and caught two passes for 24 yards in Week 8 against the Steelers.

Riddick wasn't involved in the pass game despite Matthew Stafford's 45 attempts, getting targeted just two times. He's hasn't been much of a factor over the last three weeks, averaging just 45 total yards. Riddick won’t be more than a low-end FLEX for Week 9.
Oct 29 - 11:54 PM

Theo Riddick hauled in 5-of-7 targets for 45 yards in the Lions' Week 6 loss to the Saints.

He also rushed twice for eight yards. This was a game Riddick should have dominated considering the Lions were down big almost from the first kick, so this was a bit of a disappointing performance, especially considering one of his targets bounce off his hands for an interception. The stat line was still better than most we have seen from him this season, but this very well could be his ceiling at this point. Riddick will be just a PPR option after the bye.
Oct 15 - 6:00 PM

Theo Riddick rushed twice for eight yards and caught 4-of-5 targets for 45 yards in the Lions' Week 5 loss to the Panthers.

Riddick showed nifty open-field moves on a 21-yard reception, but the Lions haven't made a commitment to feeding him the rock so far this season. He has reached double-digit touches in just 1-of-5 games. Even against the Saints in Week 6, Riddick will be a low-floor flex option specific to PPR leagues.
Oct 8 - 4:44 PM

Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter blamed defenses scheming against Theo Riddick on Riddick's dip in production through four weeks.

"I wouldn’t say defenses are drastically changing their structure, but every now and then there might be a vital call where Theo may have been one-on-one in the past and now he’s sort of doubled," Cooter said. "He's had success receiving the ball in this league especially and he’s getting attention for it." Riddick played a season-low 25.7% of the snaps in Week 4 and has just nine touches over the last two weeks. If his snaps don't rise in Week 5, he can be cut in 12-team leagues.
Oct 6 - 9:50 AM

Theo Riddick played 18-of-70 snaps (26 percent) Week 4 against the Vikings.

It is both his lowest snap total and share of the season after Riddick had played over 40 percent of the snaps in each of the previous two games. Perhaps the nature of the game and Ameer Abdullah's success contributed to the low snap count, but Riddick now has just nine touches in the last two weeks and has yet to surpass 38 total yards this season. He is not a must-hold in standard formats.
Oct 2 - 8:30 AM

Theo Riddick rushed four times for four yards and caught 1-of-2 targets for eight yards in the Lions' Week 4 win over the Vikings.

It's been all downhill for Riddick since Week 1, when he saw seven targets and scored a touchdown. He's managed just eight catches for 63 scoreless yards in the three games since. It appeared the Lions were giving Ameer Abdullah more chances in this one, as he caught 3-of-4 targets for 15 yards and scored a red-zone touchdown as a ball carrier. Riddick is typically the preferred back in those situations. Riddick is getting close to droppable in non-PPR leagues.
Oct 1 - 5:41 PM

Theo Riddick caught 4-of-9 targets for 38 yards in the Lions' Week 3 loss to the Falcons.

He didn't register a carry. Riddick took a couple big hits on some of his targets, but his nine looks were second-highest on the team behind Golden Tate's 11. Riddick was targeted on first-and-goal from the one-yard line late in the fourth quarter, but he's now had back-to-back down games after scoring a touchdown in the opener. Riddick will be a RB3/4 next week at the Vikings.
Sep 24 - 5:14 PM

Theo Riddick rushed nine times for 20 yards and caught all three of his targets for 17 yards in the Lions' Week 2 win over the Giants.

Riddick didn't get much going. He got all of the clock-killing carries late in the fourth quarter after Ameer Abdullah appeared to tweak his ankle following a 34-yard run earlier on the drive. Riddick should be able to rack up more than a handful of grabs in a shootout against the Falcons in Week 3.
