Ex-Colts ILB Josh McNary has been found not guilty on rape charges.

McNary was placed on the exempt/commissioner's list after charges were filed in January. The Colts allowed his contract to expire in March. McNary played 262 snaps last season, making four starts in 15 games. With his legal issues resolved, he'll likely get a second chance.

Colts placed ILB Josh McNary on the Exempt/Commissioner's List.

One day after rape charges were filed against him, McNary goes on the same list Adrian Peterson and Greg Hardy were on this season. Essentially, he's not a part of the Colts but he's not cut either as the parties wait for the legal process to play out. McNary was primarily a special teamer this season.

The lawyer for Colts ILB Josh McNary said his client "unhesitatingly denies" all accusations made against him.

McNary was taken into custody Wednesday on one count of rape, one count of criminal confinement and one count of battery for an incident that took place in the early morning hours of Dec. 1. A 29-year-old woman told police she met a man at a downtown bar after a long night of drinking and was raped at his apartment. "The charges and affidavit publicly disseminated on Wednesday afternoon are not evidence of wrongdoing, but simply one side's story," McNary's lawyer said. McNary has not seen any defensive snaps during the Colts' two playoff wins. The Colts have requested that the league place him on the Commissioner Exempt List.

Colts ILB Josh McNary has been charged with rape.

Awful. McNary has also been charged with one count of criminal confinement, and one count of battery. The Colts have acknowledged the charges, but are apparently holding off on a suspension as they investigate "what the relevant facts are." McNary appeared in 15 games this season, playing 262 snaps. He hasn't seen the field during the postseason.

The Indianapolis Star reports the Colts are "very high on" ILB Josh McNary and view him as a potential starter for 2014.

McNary, a UDFA out of Army, appeared in the final seven games, including the playoffs, and contributed 25 tackles. Kavell Conner and Pat Angerer were horrid next to Jerrell Freeman for much of the season, so McNary could get a crack at things in the summer. He's Army's all-time leader in sacks and received positive grades across the board from Pro Football Focus in 2013.

Colts signed OLB Josh McNary.

McNary is Army’s all-time leader in sacks, but a two-year enlistment prevented a team from drafting him in 2011. A strong showing at last week's Super Regional Combine earned him a chance with the Colts. He's a long-shot for a roster spot.
