The Seahawks, Lions and Dolphins have reportedly shown interest in free agent WR/KR Ace Sanders.
No deal is imminent as Sanders remains unsigned 10 days after being cut by the Jags. This "interest" likely amounts to an exploratory phone call between the team and Sanders' agent. Jul 27 - 8:08 AM

Former Jaguars WR Ace Sanders passed through waivers unclaimed on Monday and is now a free agent.

This isn't surprising in the least, as Sanders has been a complete non-factor through his first two NFL seasons. He's small and slow for his size. Sanders has shown nothing as a receiver while averaging a measly 6.4 yards per return as a punt returner. He has one career touchdown across 27 games.

Jaguars waived WR Ace Sanders.

A small (5'7/173), slow (4.55/4.58) gadget player, Sanders was a predictable flop as Jacksonville's 2013 fourth-round pick. He finished his two-year Jaguars tenure with 57 catches, but averaged just 9.5 yards per reception and scored one TD. Perhaps Sanders will get a look elsewhere as a punt returner.

ESPN Jaguars reporter Mike DiRocco said Ace Sanders has been "the talk of OTAs."

DiRocco said Sanders is "catching everything in sight." This is the second positive report we've heard on Sanders in the last week. Behind Allen Robinson, Marqise Lee, Allen Hurns, and possibly Rashad Greene, Sanders isn't guaranteed a roster spot. The 23-year-old was a non-factor last season, catching just 6-of-8 targets for 55 yards. He's competing for the slot receiver job.

Coach Gus Bradley said WR Ace Sanders is "having a very good offseason."

The Jaguars improved their depth by adding Rashad Greene and Neal Sterling with Day 3 picks, but Sanders has the inside track for the final receiver job. Sanders only needs to hold off Sterling and Arrelious Benn to keep his spot.

Jaguars WR Ace Sanders missed his lone target in Sunday's Week 6 loss to the Titans.

Since returning from his four-game suspension, Sanders has two catches for 12 yards on three targets. He offers no value or upside in fantasy leagues as the Jaguars' No. 5 receiver behind Allen Robinson, Cecil Shorts, Allen Hurns, and Marqise Lee.

Ace Sanders caught 2-of-2 targets for 12 yards in the Jaguars' Week 5 loss to the Steelers.

Sanders' presence was only truly felt when he muffed a fourth-quarter punt. He's not on the WR5 radar.

Jaguars activated WR Ace Sanders.

TE Mickey Shuler was waived in a corresponding move. Sanders served a four-game suspension to start the season. With Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Marqise Lee (hamstring) both out, Sanders will be asked to play a big role right out of the gate.

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley expects WR Ace Sanders to play in Sunday's game against the Steelers.

Sanders hasn't been able to practice the first four weeks due to his suspension, but will be asked to step in right away with Marqise Lee and Cecil Shorts both sidelined by hamstring injuries. He should see the majority of snaps in three-wide sets over Mike Brown.

Jaguars WR Ace Sanders' four-game suspension is over.

Sanders needs to be ready to hit the ground running as both Marqise Lee and Cecil Shorts are sidelined by hamstring injuries. The 5'7/178 jitterbug projects as a complement to starters Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson.

Suspended WR Ace Sanders returned to the Jaguars on Sunday.

Sanders took a leave of absence after it was announced he'd be suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the substance abuse policy. He missed the first three preseason games but might get some work in the finale. Once the season starts, Sanders can't practice with the team until Week 5.

NFL suspended Jaguars WR Ace Sanders four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Sanders won't appeal the suspension, but expects to miss the majority of training camp as he tends to "personal issues." Without coming out and saying it, Sanders made multiple allusions to substance-abuse issues. "I’ve decided to go seek that help and get that attention," he said. "Counseling, anybody that can give me insight." Already no higher than No. 4 on the depth chart, Sanders has greatly jeopardized his role in the Jaguars' offense. Coming off an uninspiring rookie campaign, Sanders may not have a role when he returns.

Jaguars placed WR Ace Sanders on the non-football illness list.

His stay there should be short lived. Sanders has a fairly firm grip on Jacksonville's No. 4 receiver job, but can't afford to miss a ton of time coming off a middling rookie season.

The Jaguars' No. 4 receiver job is considered Ace Sanders' to lose.

Cecil Shorts, Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson are locked in as the top-three wideouts. Sanders shouldn't have much trouble beating out Mike Brown and Tandon Doss, but don't expect anything near last year's 51-484-1 line. The Jags won't be going four-wide very often as they try to ride Toby Gerhart and an improving defense to wins.

The Florida Times Union hints Jaguars WRs Ace Sanders and Tandon Doss are competing for the same roster spot.

Both players are competing for return duties, in addition to the No. 5 or 6 receiver role. Doss spent minicamp nursing a minor injury, giving Sanders the current edge. But Sanders averaged just 5.6 yards per punt return as a rookie, while Doss finished fifth in the NFL with 359 punt-return yards and averaged 15.6 yards per for the Ravens. Sanders was the 101st pick in the 2013 draft.
