Jaguars WR Ace Sanders missed his lone target in Sunday's Week 6 loss to the Titans.
Since returning from his four-game suspension, Sanders has two catches for 12 yards on three targets. He offers no value or upside in fantasy leagues as the Jaguars' No. 5 receiver behind Allen Robinson, Cecil Shorts, Allen Hurns, and Marqise Lee. Sun, Oct 12, 2014 04:37:00 PM

Ace Sanders caught 2-of-2 targets for 12 yards in the Jaguars' Week 5 loss to the Steelers.

Sanders' presence was only truly felt when he muffed a fourth-quarter punt. He's not on the WR5 radar.

Jaguars activated WR Ace Sanders.

TE Mickey Shuler was waived in a corresponding move. Sanders served a four-game suspension to start the season. With Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Marqise Lee (hamstring) both out, Sanders will be asked to play a big role right out of the gate.

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley expects WR Ace Sanders to play in Sunday's game against the Steelers.

Sanders hasn't been able to practice the first four weeks due to his suspension, but will be asked to step in right away with Marqise Lee and Cecil Shorts both sidelined by hamstring injuries. He should see the majority of snaps in three-wide sets over Mike Brown.

Jaguars WR Ace Sanders' four-game suspension is over.

Sanders needs to be ready to hit the ground running as both Marqise Lee and Cecil Shorts are sidelined by hamstring injuries. The 5'7/178 jitterbug projects as a complement to starters Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson.

Suspended WR Ace Sanders returned to the Jaguars on Sunday.

Sanders took a leave of absence after it was announced he'd be suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the substance abuse policy. He missed the first three preseason games but might get some work in the finale. Once the season starts, Sanders can't practice with the team until Week 5.

NFL suspended Jaguars WR Ace Sanders four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Sanders won't appeal the suspension, but expects to miss the majority of training camp as he tends to "personal issues." Without coming out and saying it, Sanders made multiple allusions to substance-abuse issues. "I’ve decided to go seek that help and get that attention," he said. "Counseling, anybody that can give me insight." Already no higher than No. 4 on the depth chart, Sanders has greatly jeopardized his role in the Jaguars' offense. Coming off an uninspiring rookie campaign, Sanders may not have a role when he returns.

Jaguars placed WR Ace Sanders on the non-football illness list.

His stay there should be short lived. Sanders has a fairly firm grip on Jacksonville's No. 4 receiver job, but can't afford to miss a ton of time coming off a middling rookie season.

The Jaguars' No. 4 receiver job is considered Ace Sanders' to lose.

Cecil Shorts, Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson are locked in as the top-three wideouts. Sanders shouldn't have much trouble beating out Mike Brown and Tandon Doss, but don't expect anything near last year's 51-484-1 line. The Jags won't be going four-wide very often as they try to ride Toby Gerhart and an improving defense to wins.

The Florida Times Union hints Jaguars WRs Ace Sanders and Tandon Doss are competing for the same roster spot.

Both players are competing for return duties, in addition to the No. 5 or 6 receiver role. Doss spent minicamp nursing a minor injury, giving Sanders the current edge. But Sanders averaged just 5.6 yards per punt return as a rookie, while Doss finished fifth in the NFL with 359 punt-return yards and averaged 15.6 yards per for the Ravens. Sanders was the 101st pick in the 2013 draft.

ESPN's Michael DiRocco would be "very surprised" if WR Ace Sanders doesn't make the Jaguars' final roster.

Sanders was pushed down the depth chart by the additions of Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson, but is easily one of Jacksonville's top five receivers. Even if Justin Blackmon returns this season, Sanders should only have to hold off Mike Brown to keep his spot. Sanders may not see much time in three-wide sets with Cecil Shorts moving to the slot, but remains the favorite to handle punt returns.

The Florida Times Union believes Jaguars second-year WR Ace Sanders could be on the roster bubble.

Sanders was the 101st overall pick in last April's draft. "5-foot-7 players who don't make guys miss don't have a ton of value," writes beat reporter Ryan O'Halloran. Sanders averaged just 9.5 YPR on 51 grabs as a rookie, breaking an anemic four tackles. He was the Jaguars' primary slot receiver and lined up in the backfield some. Jacksonville drafted Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee in the second round last month. They plan to use Cecil Shorts in the slot more this season, and that's Sanders' position.

Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell said Thursday he hopes second-year WR Ace Sanders turns into a "Darren Sproles type."

Sanders showed well with 51 catches for 484 yards and a touchdown during his rookie campaign, flashing glimpses of the playmaking ability Caldwell is looking for. Sanders would have to become a bigger part of the Jags' offense and develop into a better red-zone threat to be on the re-draft radar. The latter is difficult to imagine because Sanders stands in at 5-foot-7, 173.

Ace Sanders caught six balls for 50 yards in the Jaguars' Week 17 loss to the Colts.

A fourth-round rookie out of South Carolina, Sanders ends his first NFL season with 51 receptions for 484 yards and one touchdown, starting five games following Justin Blackmon's suspension and Cecil Shorts' year-ending groin tear. Sanders is a 5-foot-7, 178-pound jitterbug-type slot receiver with a better chance to be a real-life contributor for the Jaguars than a big-time fantasy asset down the road. Keep an eye on Sanders' development in his first full NFL offseason, but he likely won't be worth a fantasy re-draft pick in 2014.

Ace Sanders caught four passes for 20 yards in Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Titans.

Sanders was used all over the field, but was held in check by the Titans. Despite being mostly limited to slot duties and not playing on every snap, he's the Jaguars' No. 1 option in the passing game with Cecil Shorts sidelined. Sanders split playing time with Kerry Taylor in two-wide sets and was targeted five times by Chad Henne. Jacksonville will finish off their regular season against the Colts in Week 17.
