49ers GM John Lynch said he views new FB Kyle Juszczyk as an offensive weapon.
That much was clear when they decided to give him $21 million over four years including $10.5 million guaranteed. Juszczyk caught 97 passes during his four years in Baltimore including 78 in the last two seasons. He will likely be used as the passing-down complement to Carlos Hyde, and it would not be surprising to see him involved in the running game as well. Juszczyk will be an interesting name in PPR drafts this summer. Mar 13 - 12:25 PM

New 49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk's deal is for four years and $21 million.

ESPN's Trevor Scales reports it includes $10.5 million guaranteed. It's a staggering amount of money for a fullback, though Juszczyk has arguably earned it with his blocking and pass catching. He's also going to play for Kyle Shanahan, a coach who expertly utilized Patrick DiMarco in Atlanta last season. It's a ton of coin, but the rebuilding 49ers can easily afford it.

49ers agreed to terms with FB Kyle Juszczyk, formerly of the Ravens.

Juszczyk is an excellent blocker, but also an adept pass catcher, snagging 78 passes over the past two seasons. He'll be a versatile body out of the backfield for creative play-caller Kyle Shanahan. Slowly but surely, the 49ers are at least adding a few viable NFLers to their skill corps. Juszczyk turns 26 in April.

USA Today's Tom Pelissero reports the 49ers are "among the teams in on" free agent FB Kyle Juszczyk.

Juszczyk may have the hottest market 24 hours into the "legal tampering" period of free agency. The Niners join the Browns and Bills as teams coming hot and heavy after him. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Bills are the favorite, but the Niners and Browns have the most cap space in the league and could drive up the price. "Juice" fits great in Kyle Shanahan's offense.
Mar 8 - 12:24 PM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bills have emerged as the favorite to sign free agent FB Kyle Juszczyk.

Schefter reported earlier Wednesday that the Browns are "very interested" in Juszczyk, so it sounds like he has a somewhat-hot market. Juszczyk isn't the normal fullback; on top of his lead-blocking duties, he can run the ball, catch it, and split out wide as a receiver. Juszczyk has 78 catches over the past two seasons and wants to sign with a team that will give him an even bigger role.
Mar 8 - 10:11 AM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Browns are "very interested" in free agent FB Kyle Juszczyk.

As Schefter notes, there's a Harvard connection, with the Browns employing several analytics-minded Harvard graduates in their front office and Juszczyk a Pro Bowl lead blocker out of Harvard. Juszczyk isn't the run-of-the-mill lead blocker-type. He has a very capable set of hands and is more of a hybrid H-back/TE who is viewed as potential under-the-radar signing in this class.
Mar 8 - 8:19 AM

Kyle Juszczyk caught 2-of-3 targets for 10 yards and rushed twice for 15 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' Week 16 loss to the Steelers.

With Terrance West and Kenneth Dixon struggling in pass protection, Juszczyk has been playing more snaps in the passing game in recent weeks. He made that work count against the Steelers, showing great balance to maintain his feet and find the end zone from 10 yards out late in the fourth quarter to give Baltimore the lead. The Ravens gave up that advantage, but Juszczyk is clearly going to be part of the offense moving forward.

Ravens FB Kyle Juszczyk caught 6-of-7 targets for 56 yards in Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Raiders.

The Ravens proactively schemed plays for Juszczyk in scoring position, but they didn't work. Juszczyk has a big role in OC Marc Trestman's offense as a sort of poor man's Larry Centers, but he isn't worth serious fantasy consideration.

Ravens FB Kyle Juszczyk caught 5-of-6 targets for 26 yards and a touchdown in Baltimore's Week 15 loss to Kansas City.

A checkdown option and sometimes goal-line receiver, Juszczyk has now hit pay dirt three times this season, all on receptions out of the backfield. Juszczyk is a useful player in the Ravens' offense, but has no fantasy value, even in the deepest of Dynasty leagues.

Ravens FB Kyle Juszczyk secured 3-of-6 targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 5 loss to Cleveland.

Juszczyk secured a red-zone touchdown and very nearly had a second, but he was narrowly overthrown by Joe Flacco on the left side of the end zone. Although Juszczyk is a useful player in Baltimore's offense when they get into scoring position, he does not see consistent week-to-week touches.

Kyle Juszczyk caught 4-of-5 targets for 29 yards in Baltimore's Divisional Round loss to the Patriots.

The Ravens' fullback, Juszczyk is a second-year fourth rounder who helped pick up Dennis Pitta's pass-catching slack in 2014, hauling in 19 receptions for 182 yards and a touchdown. He added six more grabs across two playoff games. Juszczyk isn't guaranteed a 2015 roster spot, but will get the benefit of the doubt in camp.

Ravens FB Kyle Juszczyk managed two catches for eight yards in Baltimore's Week 4 win over the Panthers.

Juszczyk made a six-yard catch early in the fourth quarter and was stopped just short of the pylon. Lorenzo Taliaferro punched in the touchdown from a yard out one play later. Juszczyk was coming off a 3-54-1 receiving performance in Week 3 against the Browns. He's not worth rostering in fantasy leagues.
Sun, Sep 28, 2014 04:27:00 PM

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley says Kyle Juszczyk is a favorite of OC Gary Kubiak.

It's notable with Dennis Pitta out for the year. Juszczyk is a fullback that's also capable of playing some tight end and H-back, something that certainly isn't lost on Kubiak. He had three catches for 54 yards and a touchdown last week and Hensley is expecting "increased touches." One team official pointed out that Juszczyk is more durable than Owen Daniels and causes more matchup problems for defenses.

Ravens FB Kyle Juszczyk caught 3-of-4 targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over Cleveland.

Juszczyk caught a swing pass for his touchdown on a red-zone play, dancing into the end zone from nine yards out in the second quarter. Juszczyk did not have a single offensive touch in either of Baltimore's first two games. The Harvard alum is a more valuable real-life than fantasy player.

Ravens FB Kyle Juszczyk is leading the team in preseason receiving with ten catches for 90 yards.

Likened to ex-Texans TE/FB James Casey by new Ravens OC Gary Kubiak, Juszczyk is a "hybrid pass-catching option" who could play a quietly integral role in Baltimore's offense. He's seeing action at H-back, tight end, and fullback. A Harvard alum, Juszczyk has 4.71 speed and a 37-inch vertical at 6'1/248.
