Seahawks RG Oday Aboushi will start Week 3 against Tennessee.
This confirms earlier reports. Aboushi will take over for Mark Glowinski, who graded as one of the worst guards in the league the first two games. Seahawks LT Rees Odhiambo will keep his job for at least another week. Sep 24 - 8:15 AM

Seahawks RG Oday Aboushi is expected to start Week 3 against Tennessee.

Seattle is shaking up their offensive line after a disastrous start to the season. Aboushi should take over for Mark Glowinski, who is the third-lowest ranked guard at PFF. Seahawks LT Rees Odhiambo is also in danger of losing his job.

Oday Aboushi will begin his Seahawks career at right guard.

It means Germain Ifedi could be shifted to right tackle. Aboushi was primarily a left guard for the Jets, but saw plenty of time on the right side. He did little to suggest he should be a starter at either position. He's just an experiment for the Seahawks, and would ideally be a backup.

Seahawks signed OL Oday Aboushi to a one-year contract.

It's a solid addition to an offensive line that was among the worst in the league. Aboushi spent most of 2016 as a backup, but made some late-season appearances at guard. He gives Seattle depth inside and at tackle. Aboushi has borderline starter traits but figures to remain in a swing role.

Texans claimed G/T Oday Aboushi off waivers from the Jets.

Aboushi started 10 games last season, but fell behind Willie Colon in training camp. He'll provide a swing option for the Texans. Aboushi is eligible to return this week after serving his one-game suspension.

Jets waived G/T Oday Aboushi.

Aboushi got crushed in the Jets' right guard competition, and then earned a one-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy on August 20. The No. 141 overall pick of the 2013 draft, Aboushi started 10 games last season, but turned in a sub-replacement level performance.

Jets G/T Oday Aboushi's roster spot is in "serious jeopardy."

Aboushi opened up camp in a competition for the right guard job, but he quickly fell behind Willie Colon and could be falling off the roster. A one-game suspension to start the year certainly does not help his chances. The 2013 fifth-rounder started 10 games at left guard last season.

NFL suspended Jets G/T Oday Aboushi one game for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

Aboushi was originally in the mix for right-guard duties, but was quickly beaten out by Willie Colon. Aboushi also appears to be behind Brian Winters. The 2013 fifth-rounder enters the year as a deep reserve.

The Newark Star-Ledger's Darryl Slater believes Oday Aboushi is the favorite to start at right guard for the Jets.

Aboushi's primary competition will be Willie Colon and Brian Winters. Colon struggled last season with nagging injuries and is entering the final stages of his career. Winters was terrible in six starts at left guard before tearing his ACL. Aboushi took over at left guard thereafter and played relatively well. Unless he falls on his face in camp, Aboushi should win this job.

Coach Todd Bowles declined to say who the favorite is to start at right guard.

Incumbent Willie Colon will face competition after failing miserably in the run game last year. Oday Aboushi, a fifth-round pick in 2013, is waiting in the wings.

Jets OL Oday Aboushi received reps with the first-team offense at both guard spots during minicamp.

With Willie Colon (biceps, knee) sidelined, Aboushi and Brian Winters were the Jets' starting guards at OTAs. The Jets expect Colon to be ready for camp, but his effectiveness coming off two major injuries is a concern. Aboushi is a candidate to start over one of Colon or Winters this season.

The New York Daily News reports second-year OL Oday Aboushi "has opened eyes" at left guard during Jets OTAs.

Aboushi and Brian Winters are running as the starting guards at OTAs while RG Willie Colon rehabs a torn biceps and recovers from a knee scope. One of the two is going to be a starter this season. If Colon doesn't return to form, both Aboushi and Winters could line up on opposite sides of C Nick Mangold. Aboushi was a college left tackle at Virginia. He's 6'5/308 with 33 7/8-inch arms.

ESPN New York reports the Jets hope either second-year OLs Oday Aboushi or William Campbell can step into a starting role at guard in 2014.

That would seem to be awfully wishful thinking on the Jets' part. Aboushi was a fifth-round pick out of Virginia, where he played left tackle, last April, while Campbell played defensive tackle at Michigan and was converted to offensive line after being drafted in the sixth round. Neither played a single snap in 2013. The Jets would be better off re-signing RG Willie Colon to another one-year deal.

Jets agreed to terms with No. 141 overall pick T/G Oday Aboushi on a four-year contract.

At 6-foot-5, 308 pounds with 33 7/8-inch arms, Aboushi has left-tackle size, but struggled mightily at the Combine. He wheezed to a 5.45 40-yard dash while posting just 17 reps on the bench. He projects as a versatile backup as a rookie. With RT Austin Howard ticketed for unrestricted free agency next offseason, Aboushi could position himself for a starting job if he shows well in 2013.

Jets selected Virginia OT Oday Aboushi with the No. 141 overall pick.

Aboushi (6-foot-5 3/8, 308) made 32 starts for the Cavs, including his final 32 at left tackle. While blessed with left-tackle height and arms (33 7/8"), Aboushi is a so-so athlete, struggled with edge speed in the ACC, and isn't a power blocker. He ran 5.45 at the Combine and managed just 17 reps on the bench. Rotoworld draft guru Josh Norris has suggested Aboushi may need to move to right tackle in the pros, while others believe he'll play guard.
