Luke Willson was held catch-less in Super Bowl XLIX.

Willson was only heard from on a second-quarter pre-snap penalty. The athletic 25-year-old finished his first season as a starter with a 22-362-3 receiving line, showing field-stretching ability but often shrinking in contested situations. As the Seahawks are likely to retain in-line TE Zach Miller for 2015, Willson's role may be reduced. He's essentially Coby Fleener West, but in a much less production-friendly offense for tight ends.
Feb 1 - 10:50 PM

Luke Willson caught 2-of-5 targets for 11 yards in the Seahawks' NFC Championship Game victory.

Willson also added a lucky grab on a two-point conversion. Willson was a bit of an X-factor down the stretch, and will have to remain so if the Seahawks are going to win another Super Bowl. Their receiver corps is a massive liability.
Jan 18 - 7:09 PM

Luke Willson caught four passes for 68 yards with a touchdown in Saturday's Divisional Round win over the Panthers.

Willson has been on our radar ever since the Seahawks took him in the fifth round of 2013 draft because he's 6'5/252 with 4.51 speed. He put that natural athletic on display in Week 16 against the Cardinals (3-139-2) and was at it again Saturday night. Not only did Willson show soft hands, but he busted through Panthers' would-be tacklers for tons of YAC. Volume is a concern in Seattle's run-based, spread-the-wealth attack that also has Cooper Helfet and Tony Moeaki (day to day, calf), but Willson's natural ability is evident.
Jan 10 - 11:48 PM

Luke Willson caught two passes for 32 yards in the Seahawks' Week 17 win over the Rams.

He was targeted four times. Coming off a 3-139-2 Week 16 against the Cardinals, Willson predictably came back down to Earth. He won't be worth DFS thought throughout the playoffs as the No. 3 or 4 option in a low-volume passing attack.

Luke Willson secured all three of his targets for 139 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 16 win over the Cardinals.

Willson was left wide open for a 80-yard touchdown on a blown coverage by Cardinals S Rashad Johnson in the first quarter. He was on the receiving end of both of Russell Wilson's touchdowns, with his second coming on a 20-yard seam route. It's a nice breakout game for Willson, who should continue to see the majority of snaps when Tony Moeaki returns. Seattle plays the Rams in Week 17.

Luke Willson caught 1-of-2 targets for one yard in the Seahawks' Week 14 win over the Eagles.

Willson has now been held to one or zero catches in five of his past seven games.
Sun, Dec 7, 2014 08:16:00 PM

Luke Willson caught 4-of-6 targets for 39 yards Week 13 against the 49ers.

The six targets were the most of any Seahawk and the most for Willson since Week 6. Despite the uptick in usage, Willson will be nothing but a very low-end TE2 Week 14 against the Eagles.

Luke Willson caught 3-of-3 targets for 51 yards Week 11 against the Chiefs.

Willson was wide open for a 27-yard catch on a broken play in the third quarter, and converted a third and seven to start the second. Willson is the Seahawks' go-to pass catching tight end, but that does not mean much of anything at this point. He is nothing but a low-end TE2.

Seahawks TE Luke Willson (ankle) will be a game-time decision in Week 11.

If Willson plays, he will likely lose snaps to Cooper Helfet and/or Tony Moeaki. Seahawks tight ends can safely be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Luke Willson (ankle) returned to practice Thursday, getting in a limited session.

Willson is now on track to play Sunday, but his snaps are up in the air. Willson has struggled, arguably getting out-played by Cooper Helfet. Tony Moeaki is also expected to join the Seahawks' mix at tight end against the Chiefs. Willson is off the TE2 radar.

Seahawks TE Luke Willson (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

With Zach Miller out for the season, Willson should continue to play the majority of snaps if healthy. Tony Moeaki is expected to make his Seattle debut this week and will see time in two tight end sets.

Seahawks TE Luke Willson left Sunday's Week 10 game against the Giants in the second quarter with an ankle injury and will not return.

Willson, who had no catches at the time of his injury, was helped by trainers very gingerly to the sideline. Only Cooper Helfet is left as a healthy tight end for Seattle.

Luke Willson secured 1-of-5 targets for 16 yards in the Seahawks' Week 9 win over the Raiders.

Willson had a number of opportunities for big plays down the seam, but committed at least three drops. Despite impressive athleticism, Willson simply isn't a great football player at this stage of his career. He'll be a low-end TE2 when Seattle takes on the Giants next.

Luke Willson caught one pass for a 23-yard touchdown in Sunday's Week 8 win at Carolina.

Willson, who was over the hamstring tweak that kept him out of Week 8, saved his best for last. With 47 seconds left and the Seahawks down 9-6, Russell Wilson hit the athletic pass-catcher in stride up the seam and he bounced off tackles for the game-winner. There's only very weak TE2 appeal here though, due to lack of volume.
