Tavarres King caught 3-of-5 targets for 48 yards in the Giants' Week 11 win over the Chiefs.
King was second on the team in targets with his best catch going for 19 yards. He's a speedy perimeter receiver but isn't more than a desperate WR4 in fantasy. Nov 19 - 6:06 PM

Tavarres King caught 3-of-6 targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' Week 9 loss to the Rams.

King was Eli Manning’s perimeter receiver of choice in this one, drawing six targets compared to Roger Lewis’ three. King hauled in an early touchdown catch and was again targeted by Eli in the end zone in the second half, but Manning’s pass was uncatchable. King can run and may pop up for a handful of big plays as we move forward, but he’s not going to be a trustworthy fantasy bet. He’ll be a low-floor WR4 when the Giants play the 49ers next.

Giants re-signed WR Tavarres King.

This was an expected move after the Giants lost four receivers to injury including Odell Beckham and Dwayne Harris to season-enders on Sunday. King will compete for Travis Rudolph for snaps opposite Roger Lewis while Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard recover from ankle injuries. With the Broncos and Seahawks up next on the schedule, no one in the group is an exciting waiver add.

Giants WR Tavarres King caught 1-of-2 targets for six yards in the Week 10 win over the Bengals.

King opened the night as the No. 4 receiver, but he quickly leaped Roger Lewis for No. 3 duties after Lewis kept making mistakes. King ended up playing 45-of-75 snaps and was the target on Eli Manning's second interception, a terrible deep ball into triple-coverage. King has good size and speed but will head back to the bench when Victor Cruz (ankle) returns next week.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano expects Tavarres King to open the season as the Giants' No. 4 receiver.

According to Vacchiano, King has been the Giants' best receiver the past two weeks of the preseason and one of the best in practice all summer. The light appears to have finally turned on for the 2013 fifth-rounder of the Broncos. He has a solid size-speed combo and would be in line for snaps if any of Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard, or (gulp) Victor Cruz goes down injured.

Giants WR Tavarres King caught 4-of-5 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason finale.

The big night closed out a torrid preseason for the fourth-year journeyman, as he caught 11 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns. He also passed the eye test in doing so. King has almost certainly assured himself a spot on the 53-man roster, but is still unlikely to start out as more than the No. 5 receiver.

Tavarres King caught 2-of-3 targets for 38 yards and two touchdowns in New York's third preseason game.

Both of King's scores came with the second-team offense, but he was a rare highlight on an otherwise dismal offensive evening for the G-Men. King was really moving, almost looking like he was shot out of a cannon. It's possible he's in the mix for No. 4 receiver duties, but the Giants remain attached to Dwayne Harris. Whatever his role, King is well off the fantasy radar.

Tavarres King worked as the Giants' No. 3 receiver in the second preseason game.

He only managed to catch 1-of-3 targets for eight yards -- he just missed staying in bounds for what would have a been a long catch down the sideline -- but he saw significant work with the first-team offense. That spot will likely belong to Victor Cruz if he can get and stay healthy, but that is far from a given. King is not fantasy viable right now, but he is a name to watch.

ESPN New York reports Tavarres King is making a "strong push" for the Giants' fifth-receiver spot.

A 2013 fifth-rounder, King has bounced around the league, catching two passes in three years. The Giants have one of the league's thinnest receiver corps, but King will remain out of sight, out of mind even if he makes the 53-man roster.

Jaguars waived WR Tavarres King.

A 2013 fifth-round pick, King has now been released by three teams in two seasons. King's combination of size and speed will likely land him on someone's practice squad. The Jaguars signed CB Peyton Thompson in a corresponding move. Thompson will serve as insurance in case Dwayne Gratz (hip) cannot play.

Jaguars signed WR Tavarres King.

A 2013 fifth-round pick of the Broncos, King was on the Panthers' practice squad. His signing is an indication the Jags expect at least one of Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Allen Hurns (ankle) to miss Week 3.

Panthers waived WR Tavarres King.

King was thought to be the favorite for situational deep threat duties after Tiquan Underwood was released. He had a solid preseason opener, but followed it up with three lackluster efforts. King will likely get another shot on a receiver-needy team thanks to his 4.40 wheels and 6'1/200 size.

Tavarres King appears to have overtaken Brenton Bersin as the Panthers' No. 4 wide receiver.

The top three are Kelvin Benjamin, Jerricho Cotchery, and Jason Avant. King ran 4.40 at the 2013 Combine with a quality 10-foot-3 broad jump at just over 6-foot, 189. He could serve as a situational deep threat for the Panthers.

ESPN Panthers reporter David Newton said WR Tavarres King's "stock is rising."

King wrapped up a reportedly solid week of camp by catching all four of his targets for 50 yards against the Bills Friday night. A fifth-round pick of the Broncos last season, King has the talent to challenge Jason Avant for the No. 3 receiver job. He is a name to watch this preseason.

Tavarres King and Marvin McNutt would be the Panthers starting receivers if the season started today.

Over the last week, the Panthers have cut Steve Smith, whiffed on Hakeem Nicks/James Jones, and watched Brandon LaFell/Ted Ginn/Domenik Hixon sign elsewhere. GM Dave Gettleman will likely add a veteran in the form of Jerricho Cotchery or maybe Kenny Britt, but King is a name to watch. He led the NCAA in yards per reception at 22.6 as a senior at Georgia, lit up Alabama for 128 yards on five catches in the SEC title game and has 4.47 wheels.
