Texans TE Ryan Griffin suffered a sprained MCL Week 1 against the Chiefs.

Griffin will be sidelined a couple weeks, but he is not expected to need surgery. Griffin caught 1-of-4 targets for 18 yards against Kansas City.

Ryan Griffin caught one pass for eight yards in the Texans' Week 17 win over the Jaguars.

Griffin entered Week 17 having played 286 snaps as the Texans' No. 3 tight end behind Garrett Graham and C.J. Fiedorowicz. He saw increased reps late in the year with Graham battling an ankle injury. We like Griffin's skill set as a pass catcher but he's not much of a blocker. He caught just 10 passes for 91 yards and one touchdown on the season. He'll compete for a spot next summer.

Ryan Griffin caught one pass for six yards in Sunday's Week 1 win over the Redskins.

With Garrett Graham (back) sidelined, Griffin got some third-down reps. He ended up with two targets compared to one for in-line starter C.J. Fiedorowicz.

Ryan Griffin caught five passes for 71 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason game against the Broncos.

It's been an extremely quiet offseason for Griffin, an intriguing sixth-round pick in 2013. He didn't have any catches despite significant playing time in the first two preseason games, and ran exclusively with the deep reserves on Saturday. We did get a glimpse of what Griffin can do, however, as he caught a 31-yard touchdown from Tom Savage with 59 seconds left to set up a game-winning 2-point conversion. Griffin should stick on the final roster behind Garrett Graham and C.J. Fiedorowicz.

Ryan Griffin caught three passes for 49 yards in Week 17 against the Titans.

Griffin, the 201st overall pick in April's draft, appeared in 15 games for the Texans as a rookie, starting eight of the final ten contests. He needs to be owned in all dynasty formats. Griffin is more athletic than Garrett Graham, while Owen Daniels is getting up there in age and has been hit by injuries in recent years. Griffin's season ends with 19 catches for 244 yards and one touchdown.

Texans TE Ryan Griffin (knee) remained limited in Thursday's practice.

Griffin is fully expected to start Sunday's game in place of Garrett Graham (hamstring). The Texans are just managing his reps.

Texans TE Ryan Griffin caught five balls for 66 yards in Houston's Week 16 loss to Denver.

Griffin wound up leading the team in both receptions and yardage on a brutal day from Matt Schaub. An interesting long-term Dynasty prospect, Graham is more athletic than Garrett Graham and more durable than oft-injured Owen Daniels. The Texans close out the regular season against Tennessee in Week 17.

Ryan Griffin is expected to draw another start in Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Garrett Graham's hamstring isn't improving and there's nothing new on Owen Daniels (leg, short-term IR). Griffin played on every single snap in Week 15, catching six passes for 62 yards on six targets. He projects to be used similarly this week, the Texans are a good bet to be in comeback mode for virtually the entire game and Matt Schaub has a history of targeting tight ends in the red zone. Desperate Jordan Cameron owners can find some upside in Griffin.

Texans TE Ryan Griffin caught six passes for 62 yards in Houston's Week 15 loss to the Colts.

Griffin did an excellent job filling in for Garrett Graham (hamstring), looking like no worse of a playmaker in the process. That being said, Griffin's fantasy value doesn't extend beyond deep Dynasty-league stash.

Texans TE Ryan Griffin caught a two-yard touchdown pass in Houston's Week 10 loss to Arizona.

A sixth-round pick out of UConn, Griffin is manning the old Garrett Graham TD vulture role in Houston's two-tight end offense. The reception was the third of Griffin's rookie year. He is just a deep Dynasty league prospect.

Texans agreed to terms with No. 201 overall pick TE Ryan Griffin on a four-year contract.

Griffin stands in at an intriguing 6-foot-6, 247 pounds, though he won't run by anybody (4.87 40-yard dash) and needs work as a blocker. He has the inside track on the Texans' third tight-end spot behind Owen Daniels and Garrett Graham.

Texans selected Connecticut TE Ryan Griffin with the No. 201 overall pick.

Griffin (6-foot-5 7/8, 254) ran a 4.87 forty and put up 21 reps on the bench press at the Huskies' Pro Day. He has strong hands and can line up all over the offense, but Griffin needs work as a blocker. Griffin was set to play college basketball before UConn offered him a football scholarship. He'll slide in behind Owen Daniels and Garrett Graham in Houston.
