Bucs signed C Ryan Jensen, formerly of the Ravens, to a four-year, $42 million contract.
The deal comes with $22 million guaranteed. Jensen graded as a top-10 center last year, but this is an overpay for a 27-year-old with one full season as a starter. The Bucs had one of the worst rushing offenses in the league in 2017, so Jensen will upgrade their interior run blocking. Jensen's signing should push Ali Marpet back to right guard. He also has a meeting on the books with Indianapolis. Jensen didn't miss a snap as Baltimore's starting center last year and impressed as a run-blocker. Ali Marpet showed well at center for Tampa Bay last year, but the Bucs may be concerned about his health after he missed the final five games with a knee injury. In addition to playing center, the 26-year-old Jensen also has experience at both guard positions.

Ravens OL Ryan Jensen suffered concussion in the team's third preseason game.

Jensen was playing left tackle with the Ravens' offensive line ravaged by injuries. Jensen took a big hit to the head at the end of a run in the first quarter. He appeared very woozy as he walked off the field and was taken straight into the locker room. Jensen will have to pass through the league's concussion protocol before returning.

Ravens practice squad G/C Ryan Jensen currently suffers from severe sleep apnea.

Jensen, a sixth-round pick of the Ravens in 2013, was part of Baltimore's final cuts over the weekend. The Baltimore Sun observed Jensen being visibly "groggy" and "more irritable" this summer. Sleep apnea is common, but Hall of Famer Reggie White died in his sleep due to complications from his severe sleep apnea. The Ravens were fairly high on Jensen prior to this summer.

The Ravens have moved second-year G/C Ryan Jensen to tackle.

Jensen played left tackle in college but is built more like an NFL guard. He measures 6-foot-4 and 318 pounds. The Ravens are giving Jensen an opportunity to compete with Rick Wagner for the starting right tackle job. He didn't appear in a single game as a rookie due to a broken foot. If anything, being able to play any position up front gives him a good shot to be active on game day.
