Brice Butler's playing time last year was reportedly limited by mental errors.
Butler played on just 29.4 percent of the snaps last season, posting a 21-280-2 line. At 6'3/214 with 4.37 speed, he's capable of much more. We saw that during the preseason, when Butler caught 13 passes for 206 yards with four touchdowns in four games. Whatever the mental issues are, Butler will be a candidate to flash if he can get them cleaned up and get an opportunity. He's a name to monitor. Apr 28 - 9:10 AM

Brice Butler caught one pass for six yards in Sunday's Week 17 loss at Denver.

Butler appeared in 15 games for the Raiders, but never got a real chance to play significant snaps. He finished with 21-280-2 in his second NFL season. We wouldn't give up on this kid in deep Dynasty formats though, as he's flashed difference-making ability in preseason games. Butler goes 6'3/210 with sub-4.4 speed and will be back for the third year of his rookie contract.

Raiders WR Brice Butler secured 2-of-4 targets for 12 yards and a touchdown in Oakland's Week 10 loss to Denver.

Butler was the recipient of Derek Carr's first touchdown pass, securing a five-yard TD in the second quarter. Butler shares sub-package receiver snaps with Kenbrell Thompkins, Denarius Moore, and Vincent Brown behind starters James Jones and Andre Holmes. Lacking re-draft value, Butler is just a deep Dynasty stash.

Raiders WR Brice Butler caught 2-of-2 targets for 20 yards in Sunday's Week 9 loss to Seattle.

A streak-route specialist in Oakland's offense, Butler never got loose for one of his trademark deep balls. The 24-year-old is the Raiders' No. 4 receiver behind Andre Holmes, James Jones, and Kenbrell Thompkins.

Browns coach Mike Pettine noted that Raiders WR Brice Butler "jumps off the tape."

We've noticed the same thing. Butler was spectacular in the preseason, catching 13 passes for 206 yards with four touchdowns. He's also starting to earn a bigger role in the regular season, as evidenced by his nine targets over the last three weeks. Butler, a 2013 seventh-round pick, should be owned in Dynasty formats.

Raiders WR Brice Butler secured his lone target for 55 yards in Sunday's Week 7 loss to Arizona.

Rotating with Denarius Moore behind Andre Holmes and James Jones, Butler hauled in a 55-yard bomb to set up Darren McFadden's one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Although Butler is big and fast and sometimes flashes big-play ability, he doesn't get nearly enough usage to be even a WR6 in fantasy leagues.

Raiders WR Brice Butler secured 3-of-5 targets for 64 yards and a touchdown in Oakland's Week 6 loss to San Diego.

Working as the Raiders' No. 3 receiver this week -- ahead of Denarius Moore and injured Vincent Brown -- Butler converted a 47-yard catch-and-run touchdown midway through the third quarter, giving Oakland a 21-14 lead. It was the first regular season touchdown of second-year man Butler's career. Butler is big and fast, but isn't worth a re-draft addition. He has slight Dynasty value.

Brice Butler caught 2-of-3 targets for 30 yards in Oakland's Week 4 loss to the Dolphins.

Butler saw increased run in the absence of Rod Streater, but split time with Vincent Brown behind James Jones and Andre Holmes. The 2013 seventh-rounder has three catches for 28 yards on the season.

Raiders declared WR Brice Butler, QB Matt McGloin, CB Chimdi Chekwa, MLB Nick Roach, G Tony Bergstrom, T Matt McCants, and DE Shelby Harris inactive for Week 1 against the Jets.

Butler had a strong preseason, but is still bringing up the rear of the depth chart. Chekwa has a knee injury, while Roach is still sidelined with a concussion. Miles Burris and Kaluka Maiava will pick up the slack for Roach.

Brice Butler caught three passes for 60 yards with two touchdowns in Friday's preseason game against the Packers.

Butler continues to light it up against third-stringers. The 2013 seventh-rounder out of San Diego State now has 11 catches for 178 yards with three touchdowns in three preseason games, surely solidifying his spot on the 53-man roster.

Raiders WR Brice Butler has been diagnosed with a concussion.

It dampens Butler's roster chances, as he's now unlikely to suit up for this weekend's regular-season dress rehearsal. The No. 209 overall pick of last year's draft, Butler caught nine passes across 10 games.

Raiders second-year WR Brice Butler will enter training camp on the roster bubble.

Butler flashed as a seventh-round rookie last preseason, but wound up dropping three of his 17 regular season targets, and didn't catch a pass after Week 6. Blessed with size (6'3/214) and speed (4.37), Butler remains a project entering his second season. His roster odds took a hit when James Jones was signed.

Raiders rookie WR Brice Butler caught three passes for 54 yards in Monday night's Week 3 loss to the Broncos.

Butler, a seventh-round pick out of San Diego State, was targeted four times on the night but had a brutal drop on a first-quarter third-and-17 pass that would have been a first down. Butler shined in the preseason, catching five passes for 108 yards and a score. He has just six catches for 72 yards after three regular-season games. This goes without saying, but leave him on the wire.

Raiders rookie WR Brice Butler has five catches for 108 yards and a touchdown through three preseason games.

One of the few shining lights of a miserable Raiders summer, Butler has flashed big-play ability while pushing for first-team snaps. At the moment, he's still the No. 4 wide receiver behind Denarius Moore, Rod Streater, and Jacoby Ford. Moore has really struggled, however, while Streater suffered a Friday night concussion and Ford has long demonstrated poor durability.

CSN Bay Area calls seventh-round WR Brice Butler the "offensive player of (Raiders) camp."

Per beat writer Scott Bair, Butler has displayed "smooth route running and ability to make the big catch." Butler could open the regular season as high as third on the depth chart, but it won't be a fantasy relevant position in the Raiders' ramshackle offense.
