Seahawks signed CB Demetrius McCray, WR Jamel Johnson, DT Rodney Coe, TE Chris Briggs and WR Rodney Smith to reserve/future contracts.
A 2013 seventh-round pick of the Jaguars, McCray appeared in at least 14 games each of his first three years in the league before spending 2016 on the street. A big (6-foot-2) corner, he'll get a shot in Seattle. Jan 19 - 5:07 PM

Jaguars waived CB Demetrius McCray, LB Joplo Bartu, WR Shaq Evans, K Sam Ficken, CB Mike Hilton, RB Cameron Marshall, P Ryan Quigley, and WR Jamal Robinson.

McCray was shredded as a 12-game starter in 2014, and barely played last year. Evans played at UCLA and is a former late-round draft pick of the Jets.

The Florida Times Union suggests it's "realistic" for second-year CB Demetrius McCray to win a starting job.

McCray, the 210th pick in last year's draft, played just 96 snaps on defense last season, and 67 of them came in a Week 3 start against the Seahawks. He has good length at 6'0/185 and solid ball skills; he led the FCS Southern Conference in interceptions in 2011 and 2012. We don't envision McCray beating out Alan Ball or Dwayne Gratz for a starting job, but he could be a solid No. 4.

Jaguars agreed to terms with No. 210 overall pick CB Demetrius McCray on a four-year contract.

McCray led the FCS Southern Conference in interceptions each of the past two years. His speed doesn't jump off the page (4.54 40-yard dash), but he's an excellent ballhawker with long arms (33-7/8 inches). He'll look to make the Jags as a special teamer.

Jaguars selected Appalachian State CB Demetrius McCray with the No. 210 overall pick.

McCray (6-foot-1, 187) paced the Southern Conference in interceptions as both a junior (5) and senior (4), earning second-team All-American honors in the FCS last season. He possesses long arms (33 7/8") and ran 4.54 at the Combine with a 36-inch vertical. With ballhawking ability and plus length and athleticism, McCray offers starting potential down the road. The Jags have now taken two safeties and two corners in this draft.
