Browns DE Armonty Bryant (knee) is "on schedule" with his recovery.

He'll be placed on injured reserve. Per's Ian Rapoport, Bryant also has a partially torn MCL. That could delay his surgery. A situational pass rusher, Bryant had one sack and 11 tackles through 136 snaps this season. The 2013 seventh-rounder should be healthy in time to compete for a roster spot next season.

Browns DE Armonty Bryant was forced from Cleveland's Week 6 game against the Steelers with a right knee injury, and is questionable to return.

Bryant is technically "questionable," but could put no weight on his right leg, and was carted to the locker room. He's almost certainly done for the day. Jabaal Sheard will see an increase in snaps in Bryant's absence.

Browns seventh-round DE Armonty Bryant says he's sober after struggling with drugs and alcohol in the past.

The small-school East Central (OK) product was busted for DUI less than a week after the draft, and arrested for selling marijuana as a senior. "(I) thought at times I was above the game, and that's one thing they’ve been teaching us at the (rookie) symposium — don’t be above the game," Bryant said. "It's a blessing that I’m even here playing this game and living out a dream of mine." It sounds like Bryant has found perspective just in time, but his career could be toast with any more off-the-field incidents.

Browns seventh-round pick DE Armonty Bryant has a received a one-year deferred sentence after pleading no contest in his misdemeanor drunk-driving case.

He also owes $1,136 in fines. Bryant is expected to report when the Browns begin their rookie minicamp on Thursday. His mistake hasn't cost him his (long) shot at a roster spot.

Browns seventh-round pick Armonty Bryant was arrested Friday for drunken driving in Ada, Oklahoma.

Less than a week after being drafted, Bryant -- a defensive lineman -- was pulled over and issued a standard sobriety test. Police "had problems" getting Bryant to comply with blowing into a breathalyzer, attempting "the test at least 10 times." The result eventually was a .098, above Oklahoma's legal limit of 0.08. Bryant also "repeatedly refused" to blow into an Intoxilyzer. Clearly not the brightest tool in the shed, Bryant was suspended three games as a senior after being arrested on two occasions for trying to sell $20 worth of marijuana to undercover officers. An arrest like this could seal Bryant's walking papers in Cleveland.

Browns selected Eastern Central (OK) DE Armonty Bryant with the No. 217 overall pick.

Originally enrolled at Abilene Christian, Bryant spent one season there and did not play. Bryant transferred to JUCO before ending up at Eastern Central. He only played in eight games as a senior, as he was suspended after being arrested for selling marijuana to an undercover police officer. Bryant still managed 17.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and two blocked kicks. In Cleveland, 6-foot-4, 263-pound Bryant will have to bulk up to play end in Ray Horton's 3-4. He's not being viewed as an outside linebacker.
