Ty Powell is currently penciled in as the Bills’ primary backup at inside linebacker.

Bills LB Ty Powell is working at middle linebacker during offseason workouts.

With Kiko Alonso moving to weak-side linebacker, the Bills are considering using Powell in a rotation with Brandon Spikes at the MIKE spot. The club has stated Powell is viewed as a long-term candidate to play the "Leo" hybrid position in Pete Carroll's defense.

He notched 15 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks as a senior, also blocking four kicks. Powell demonstrated terrific speed at the Combine with a 4.64 forty and 1.59 ten-yard split. He may have a future in the league as a nickel rusher and special teamer in Seattle.
