Giants signed OT Michael Bowie to a reserve/future contract.
The signing occurred two weeks ago, but we find it notable. The former Seahawks draft pick started nine games as a 2013 rookie before injuries sent his career off the rails. He spent a couple years in Cleveland but could never get healthy and actually stepped away from the game back in August. Bowie is ready to attempt a comeback, and tackle is one of the Giants' bigger needs. Jan 24 - 6:39 PM

Browns placed OT Michael Bowie on the reserve/retired list.

Bowie is calling it a career after missing the last two seasons with shoulder injuries. He appeared in nine games for the Seahawks in 2013, spending time at both right tackle and right guard. Bowie entered the league as a seventh-round draft pick out of Northeastern State.

Browns placed OT Michael Bowie on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, ending his season.

Bowie initially hurt his shoulder last August with the Seahawks and was waived/injured, but the Browns claimed him and stashed him on I.R. in hopes of getting a return in 2015. That won't happen, as the shoulder is still a problem. Bowie made nine starts for Seattle in 2013 and excelled as a run blocker.

Browns GM Ray Farmer believes OL Michael Bowie (shoulder) could be a major factor this season.

Claimed off waivers in August, Bowie missed all of 2014 recovering from shoulder surgery. He’s expected to be ready for the start of training camp, where he’ll compete for a swing role behind contract-year RT Mitchell Schwartz. The Browns could also give Bowie a look at guard.

Browns OT Michael Bowie (shoulder) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Bowie was claimed on waivers in August and missed the entire year to shoulder surgery. He graded as a top-15 run blocker by PFF over nine 2013 starts. Bowie played right tackle in Seattle, but could move to guard when healthy.

Browns claimed OT Michael Bowie off waivers from the Seahawks.

The Super Bowl champs figure to be none-too-pleased by rookie Browns GM Ray Farmer's sniping of their 2013 starting right tackle, but Seattle GM John Schneider knew the risk of waiving Bowie injured as opposed to keeping him on the roster and placing Bowie on I.R. at final cuts. Bowie is an unlikely 2014 contributor due to a severe shoulder injury, but excelled in nine starts last season, particularly as a run blocker, and was just barely 22 years old. The Browns figure to stash Bowie on I.R. and let him compete for a job in 2015.

Seahawks waived/injured OT Michael Bowie.

It's a risky move from GM John Schneider. Bowie appeared in 10 games (nine starts) last year, including Seattle's Divisional Round win over the Saints. He's expected to miss 4-6 months to shoulder surgery, but could draw interest on waivers. Bowie will be reverted to I.R. if he passes through unclaimed.

GM John Schneider confirmed second-year OT Michael Bowie will get the first crack at the Seahawks' starting right-tackle opening.

Last year's starting RT Breno Giacomini signed with the Jets. There's currently no real competition on the roster for Bowie, but the Seahawks could stand to upgrade at right tackle, right guard, and left guard in next week's draft. Bowie started nine games last season and was a plus run blocker.

Seahawks seventh-round OT Michael Bowie suffered what is believed to be a "serious" shoulder injury in Thursday's preseason finale.

Bowie will probably miss a few weeks. He's had an impressive training camp, earning the backup spot behind Breno Giacomini at right tackle.

Seahawks signed No. 242 overall pick T Michael Bowie to a four-year contract.

Bowie transferred to Northeastern Oklahoma State after being kicked off Oklahoma State's roster, where he was a starter. He'll be nothing more than a developmental prospect at right tackle.

Seahawks selected Northeastern Oklahoma State T Michael Bowie with the No. 242 overall pick.

Bowie was a starter for Oklahoma State prior to transferring this season. Coach Mike Gundy said his removal from the team was due to a violation of unspecified team rules. He is nothing more than a developmental right tackle prospect.
