Chiefs SS Jon McGraw was forced from Sunday's game against the Jets with a left ankle injury, and is questionable to return.
He's been replaced at strong safety by Sabby Piscitelli. If McGraw can't return, it will be bad news for the Chiefs with the Jets going run heavy this afternoon. Sun, Dec 11, 2011 02:03:00 PM

Date:

Chiefs SS John McGraw (shoulder) will not play in Week 11 against the Patriots.

McGraw has never been great in coverage, but losing him in advance of a game against the Patriots is never a good thing. Donald Washington and Sabby Piscitelli will see his snaps, and both are replacement-level talents at best.

Chiefs SS John McGraw is active for the Chiefs' Week 10 game against the Broncos.

He has struggled in coverage, but without him the Dolphins had their way with the Chiefs last week. He'll be tested in run support against the Broncos' persistent ground attack. QB Ricky Stanzi, WR Jerheme Urban, TE Anthony Becht, T Steve Maneri, DT Jerrell Powe, DE Brandon Bair, and LB Demorrio Williams are also inactive.

Chiefs SS John McGraw is expected to face the Broncos after missing one game with a shoulder injury.

McGraw hasn't exactly been an ace in coverage this season, but the Dolphins had their way with the Chiefs secondary missing him last week. His run support will be tested against Tim Tebow and Willis McGahee on Sunday.

Chiefs SS Jon McGraw suffered a shoulder injury in Monday night's game and did not return.

The severity of the injury isn't yet known. Donald Washington and/or Sabby Piscitelli would pick up extra snaps if McGraw is out for Week 9. McGraw has been a downgrade in pass coverage from Eric Berry, but he's held up well in run defense.

Jon McGraw is expected to start at strong safety in Sunday's game against the Lions.

With Eric Berry (knee) out for the year, McGraw and Sabby Piscitelli are prepping for bigger roles. They'll be tested right out of the gate by Matthew Stafford's powerful arm and the Lions' aggressive scheme. McGraw is 32 and was never strong in pass coverage.

Chiefs agreed to terms with S Jon McGraw on a one-year, $810,000 contract.

McGraw made five starts out of necessity last season, but he won't be assured a roster spot in Kansas City's young safety corps. The 32-year-old has never been an asset in pass coverage, and McGraw's special teams role is also waning.

Chiefs FS Jon McGraw is listed as the starter Sunday against the Browns, but Kendrick Lewis is expected to see significant stats.

Lewis and fellow rookie Eric Berry had a rough debut, as Lewis failed to register a tackle and Berry failed to stay at home on Legadu Naanee's 59-yard touchdown catch. The two should rebound nicely against the Browns. Despite his mistakes, Berry remains an elite IDP safety.

Jon McGraw is still running as the Chiefs' first-team free safet ahead of rookie Kendrick Lewis.

With the Jarrad Page situation still at a stalemate, McGraw and Lewis are going toe-to-toe. We like Lewis' upside to win out, although starting two rookies at the safety spots (Eric Berry is the strong safety) would be a bold move for Kansas City.

Chiefs FS Jon McGraw's status for Sunday's game against the Jaguars is unknown due to a thigh injury.

It's a bad time for McGraw to be nicked as Jarrad Page was lost for the season yesterday. McGraw likely would have started, but K.C. now may have to go with free agent pickup Travis Daniels, DaJuan Morgan or nickel back Maurice Leggett at free safety. Upgrade the Jaguars passing game.

The Chiefs will start Jon McGraw over Jarrad Page at free safety this week.

McGraw is normally a special teamer. Page is in the last year of his rookie deal and his job has been tenuous all year, so he can't be happy. The Chiefs are still sure to struggle in the secondary against the Chargers Sunday.

Chiefs re-signed S Jon McGraw.

The cornerstone special teamer and third safety recorded 45 tackles last season.

Chiefs agreed to terms with S Jon McGraw on a two-year contract.

McGraw, a 2002 second-round pick, was Detroit's nickel back for part of 2006. He adds depth to a K.C. secondary that's looking to get younger.

Safety John McGraw suffered a concussion Sunday.

The Lions also lost safety Kenoy Kennedy to a foot injury, leaving them short in the secondary.

Lions acquired safety Jon McGraw for a conditional draft pick.

McGraw was entering his fourth season with the Jets. He's recovering from a knee injury.
