Browns waived OL Chris Faulk.
The old regime was high on Faulk after he spent his rookie year "redshirting" with a torn ACL, but he couldn't even make it to August for Ray Farmer & Co. A heavy-footed 6-foot-6, Faulk was not a good fit for OC Kyle Shanahan's zone scheme. At best, Faulk will crack someone's practice squad for Week 1. Mon, Jul 28, 2014 02:46:00 PM

Browns second-year OL Chris Faulk (knee) is fully healthy and has no limitations.

Faulk spent his rookie year "redshirting" on injured reserve after tearing his ACL and MCL in LSU's 2012 season opener. He's an imposing 6-foot-6 and 330 pounds but will start the 2014 practice season as a guard. A heavy-footed blocker, Faulk is unlikely to benefit from the Browns' hire of OC Kyle Shanahan, who prefers better movers on the offensive line.

ESPN Cleveland reports the previous Browns regime really liked second-year OT Chris Faulk and expected him to compete for the right tackle job in 2014.

The current regime's thoughts on Faulk are unknown. Faulk spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve after tearing his ACL and MCL in LSU's 2012 opener. He was once considered a possible first-rounder. The Browns may look to upgrade on RT Mitchell Schwartz but also possess zero depth.

Browns undrafted OT Chris Faulk underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Monday.

Faulk tore his ACL and MCL in LSU's season opener last season, and he hasn't been on the football field since. Once considered a possible first-round pick, Faulk may be looking at a "redshirt" season on injured reserve.

Coach Rob Chudzinski is hopeful undrafted OT Chris Faulk (knee) will be ready for training camp.

"We'll see," added Chudzinski. Faulk played in just one game last season, before tearing his right ACL and MCL. He made just 15 career starts at LSU, but he was viewed as a potential first-rounder before the injury. Faulk will compete for a backup tackle spot behind starters Joe Thomas and Mitchell Schwartz.

Browns signed LSU OT Chris Faulk.

Faulk (6-foot-5, 331) made just 15 career starts at LSU before a torn right ACL and MCL ended his junior season after one game. He required separate surgeries for each knee ligament, but declared for the draft anyway. A possible late first-rounder before the injuries, Faulk's best NFL position is likely right tackle. When healthy, he flashes an aggressive mean streak in the run game. Faulk will compete for a swing tackle role with the Browns if his knee cooperates.
