Santana Moss is a healthy scratch for Sunday's Week 1 game against the Texans.

It's the first time Moss has been a healthy scratch since joining the Redskins. The 35-year-old is behind Ryan Grant for No. 4 WR duties.
Sep 7 - 12:25 PM

Santana Moss had three catches for 27 yards and a touchdown in Saturday night's preseason game.

Moss played with the second- and third-team offenses, with his touchdown coming on an 11-yard pass from Kirk Cousins. He's behind Ryan Grant for the No. 4 receiver job, but is expected to make Washington's 53-man roster. Moss has a 4/51/1 line through three preseason games.
Aug 24 - 12:28 AM

ESPN's John Keim expects Santana Moss to make the Redskins' 53-man roster.

Keim adds that Moss "still needs a good camp," but believes he has an inside track on the final receiver spot. Leonard Hankerson (knee) missed OTAs and minicamp, and could open 2014 on reserve/PUP. Moss likely only needs to hold off Aldrick Robinson and Nick Williams for the No. 5 receiver job. Rookie Ryan Grant is competing for snaps in four-wide sets.

Santana Moss admits his spot on the 53-man roster is not secure.

"I’ve never not had to go work for my job," he said. "So at the end of the day, there’s always competition." Now 35, Moss' spot was made tenuous by the additions of Andre Roberts and DeSean Jackson, not to mention Moss' sub-par play. He'll battle Aldrick Robinson and Leonard Hankerson for a roster spot.
Jun 9 - 1:19 PM

ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim believes Santana Moss' road to making the roster became more difficult when the team signed DeSean Jackson.

Jackson's signing shifts Andre Roberts into the third-receiver, slot role formerly manned by Moss. Turning 35 in June, Moss was a shell of his former self last season, struggling to a 42-452-2 campaign. Moss will likely have to beat out one of Aldrick Robinson or Leonard Hankerson in training camp to keep his job.

Apr 12 - 10:56 AM

Redskins re-signed WR Santana Moss to a one-year contract.

No terms are available yet, but it's going to be a minimum kind of deal. Moss will turn 35 in June and is coming off a poor 42-452-2 campaign. Andre Roberts has reportedly agreed to a deal to be the Redskins' No. 2 and slot receiver, leaving Moss to compete for a role in three- and four-wide sets.
Mar 11 - 4:01 PM

The Washington Post reports the Redskins and free agent Santana Moss have talked about a new contract.

Moss will turn 35 in June and has lost multiple steps over the past couple seasons. However, he remains a sure-handed receiver who does his best work out of the slot. The Redskins should be aiming higher, but Moss won't command any guaranteed money and will fight for a roster spot this summer if re-signed.
Feb 7 - 10:11 AM

Impending free agent Santana Moss is considered doubtful to re-sign with the Redskins.

Aside from Pierre Garcon, the Redskins don't have much at receiver. They need to be seeking upgrades this offseason, moving on from veterans Moss and Josh Morgan. Moss will turn 35 in June and isn't anywhere close to the player he was early in his career. It's quite possible Moss' playing days ended in Week 17.

Feb 1 - 11:19 AM

Santana Moss caught two passes for 13 yards in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Giants.

It could very well be the final game of Moss' career. He's an unrestricted free agent that will turn 35 in June and can no longer separate. Despite an injury to Leonard Hankerson, Moss finishes his 13th NFL season with 42 catches for 452 yards with two touchdowns. He hasn't topped 600 yards or 50 catches since 2010 and will struggle to find a market come March.

Santana Moss caught two passes for 13 yards in Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Cowboys.

Moss came wide open near the end zone in the first half and was spotted by Kirk Cousins. But the throw was about a foot behind him, and it clanged off Moss' hands for an interception. Moss will take 40 catches and 439 yards into the season finale against the Giants.
Sun, Dec 22, 2013 06:14:00 PM

Santana Moss caught eight passes for 64 yards and one touchdown in Week 15 against the Falcons.

Moss was targeted nine times on a day where Kirk Cousins made his first start and threw 45 passes. Cousins excels in the short-to-intermediate game where Moss does his work out of the slot. It was arguably Moss' best game of the season, which tells you he's not on the fantasy radar.
Sun, Dec 15, 2013 07:03:00 PM

Santana Moss caught three passes for 30 yards in Washington's Week 14 loss to the Chiefs.

Moss has put up consistently modest numbers since the Redskins lost Leonard Hankerson (knee) for the season. He has no fantasy value.
Sun, Dec 8, 2013 06:34:00 PM

Santana Moss had one catch for 15 yards in Sunday night's Week 13 loss to the Giants.

Moss picked up a first down on third-and-seven in the second quarter. It was his only target of the night. Moss can continue to be avoided in fantasy leagues.
Mon, Dec 2, 2013 01:15:00 AM

Santana Moss caught three passes for 27 yards in Week 12 against the 49ers.

Moss was targeted four times on the night. The three grabs were the most he's had in a game since Week 3. Moss is clearly well off the fantasy radar.
