The Redskins have no plans to re-sign free agent WR Santana Moss.
Moss turned 36 last month and was a healthy scratch in the majority of the Redskins' games last season. They're better off giving guys like Ryan Grant and Jamison Crowder a chance. Moss' NFL career appears to be over even though he has stated he wants to continue playing. Jul 21 - 12:31 PM

Free agent WR Santana Moss wants to continue his playing career.

"I’ve got another year in me," Moss said. "I’m a free agent right now, you know how they do us old guys." The soon-to-be 36-year-old is coming off a 10-catch season across 133 snaps for the Redskins. It was by far the least-productive season of his career. Moss seems to know he may not be given another opportunity. He'd only be joining a team as a veteran presence, not a contributor.

The Redskins haven't ruled out re-signing free agent WR Santana Moss.

Moss was limited to 10 games last season, playing just 133 snaps. He hasn't drawn any known interest on the open market. Moss could have to wait until after the draft to sign with a team.

Santana Moss caught 3-of-5 targets for 25 yards in the Redskins' Week 17 loss to the Cowboys.

Moss closes the book on his 14th NFL season the owner of a 10/116/0 line. He was active for 10-of-16 games. Moss has had a long and productive career, but is quite possibly at the end of the line. He turns 36 in June.

Coach Jay Gruden admits Santana Moss is the "odd man out" for the Redskins at receiver at the moment.

Pierre Garcon, DeSean Jackson, Andre Roberts, Aldrick Robinson, and rookie Ryan Grant are all ahead of 35-year-old Moss, who doesn't play special teams. He's a mere veteran presence at this point, and is unlikely to get an opportunity on offense unless there's an injury. Moss has been inactive all four games.

Santana Moss is a healthy scratch for the second straight week.

The Redskins are stashing 35-year-old Moss as wide receiver insurance. He isn't a part of Washington's offense.

Santana Moss is a healthy scratch for Sunday's Week 1 game against the Texans.

It's the first time Moss has been a healthy scratch since joining the Redskins. The 35-year-old is behind Ryan Grant for No. 4 WR duties.

Santana Moss had three catches for 27 yards and a touchdown in Saturday night's preseason game.

Moss played with the second- and third-team offenses, with his touchdown coming on an 11-yard pass from Kirk Cousins. He's behind Ryan Grant for the No. 4 receiver job, but is expected to make Washington's 53-man roster. Moss has a 4/51/1 line through three preseason games.

ESPN's John Keim expects Santana Moss to make the Redskins' 53-man roster.

Keim adds that Moss "still needs a good camp," but believes he has an inside track on the final receiver spot. Leonard Hankerson (knee) missed OTAs and minicamp, and could open 2014 on reserve/PUP. Moss likely only needs to hold off Aldrick Robinson and Nick Williams for the No. 5 receiver job. Rookie Ryan Grant is competing for snaps in four-wide sets.

Santana Moss admits his spot on the 53-man roster is not secure.

"I’ve never not had to go work for my job," he said. "So at the end of the day, there’s always competition." Now 35, Moss' spot was made tenuous by the additions of Andre Roberts and DeSean Jackson, not to mention Moss' sub-par play. He'll battle Aldrick Robinson and Leonard Hankerson for a roster spot.

ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim believes Santana Moss' road to making the roster became more difficult when the team signed DeSean Jackson.

Jackson's signing shifts Andre Roberts into the third-receiver, slot role formerly manned by Moss. Turning 35 in June, Moss was a shell of his former self last season, struggling to a 42-452-2 campaign. Moss will likely have to beat out one of Aldrick Robinson or Leonard Hankerson in training camp to keep his job.

Redskins re-signed WR Santana Moss to a one-year contract.

No terms are available yet, but it's going to be a minimum kind of deal. Moss will turn 35 in June and is coming off a poor 42-452-2 campaign. Andre Roberts has reportedly agreed to a deal to be the Redskins' No. 2 and slot receiver, leaving Moss to compete for a role in three- and four-wide sets.

The Washington Post reports the Redskins and free agent Santana Moss have talked about a new contract.

Moss will turn 35 in June and has lost multiple steps over the past couple seasons. However, he remains a sure-handed receiver who does his best work out of the slot. The Redskins should be aiming higher, but Moss won't command any guaranteed money and will fight for a roster spot this summer if re-signed.

Impending free agent Santana Moss is considered doubtful to re-sign with the Redskins.

Aside from Pierre Garcon, the Redskins don't have much at receiver. They need to be seeking upgrades this offseason, moving on from veterans Moss and Josh Morgan. Moss will turn 35 in June and isn't anywhere close to the player he was early in his career. It's quite possible Moss' playing days ended in Week 17.

Santana Moss caught two passes for 13 yards in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Giants.

It could very well be the final game of Moss' career. He's an unrestricted free agent that will turn 35 in June and can no longer separate. Despite an injury to Leonard Hankerson, Moss finishes his 13th NFL season with 42 catches for 452 yards with two touchdowns. He hasn't topped 600 yards or 50 catches since 2010 and will struggle to find a market come March.
