Making his Bills debut, TE MarQueis Gray caught 2-of-2 targets for 71 yards in Buffalo's Week 13 win over the Browns.
Gray's grabs were nearly identical numbers down the left sideline. Gray obviously won't be a fantasy option down the stretch, but he appears poised to cut into Scott Chandler's targets. Nov 30 - 5:53 PM

Bills claimed TE MarQueis Gray off waivers from the Vikings.

RB Phillip Tanner was waived in a corresponding roster move. It's a sign the Bills are optimistic about Fred Jackson's Week 12 status. An H-back who spent time in Cleveland before Minnesota, Gray will contribute on special teams.

MarQueis Gray was the Vikings' primary pass-catching tight end after Kyle Rudolph (groin) left late in Sunday's loss to the Saints.

Gray, an H-back type, saw no targets on 11 snaps. If Rudolph is going to miss time, the Vikings will theoretically need to force feed Cordarrelle Patterson more. They've oddly shown no urgency in that department yet.

Vikings claimed TE/FB MarQueis Gray off waivers from the Browns.

Gray has always been intriguing on the practice field, but hasn't shown much in games. He'll round out the end of the Vikings roster, though if anyone can coax his potential out, it's OC Norv Turner. Turner spent 2013 on Cleveland's staff, so we suspect Norv had pretty much everything to do with claiming Gray.

Browns waived TE/FB MarQueis Gray.

A hyped undrafted H-back last season, Gray was active for 12 games, managing eight touches. He could be headed to the practice squad.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer expects MarQueis Gray to see "a fair amount of time" at fullback in 2014.

Gray saw limited snaps at fullback and tight end last year, so the Browns are hoping to get him more involved. Chris Ogbonnaya was the Browns' starting fullback in 2013, but doesn't have the skill set to handle lead block duties with Cleveland moving to a run-based offense. Gray should see time at fullback in two-back formations and compete for the No. 2 role behind Jordan Cameron.
Jun 7 - 2:49 PM

MarQueis Gray rushed once for four yards in Cleveland's Week 17 loss to the Steelers.

The reserve tight end was held without a catch, but took the rock out of the wild-cat formation. An undrafted rookie, Gray was a quarterback for the University of Minnesota. Gray finishes his rookie season with two catches for eight yards. His athletic upside should give him an inside track to a roster spot next summer.

MarQueis Gray was held without a catch in Week 16 against the Jets.

Teaming up with Gary Barnidge to fill in for Jordan Cameron (concussion), Gray was targeted four times. Barnidge also saw four targets, turning them into two catches for 23 yards. Gray played a good amount of snaps but was no higher than the fourth or fifth option in a weak passing effort.

MarQueis Gray is expected to see a major bump in snaps if Jordan Cameron (concussion) sits out Sunday.

The Browns players and coaches are already talking like they won't have Cameron. Blocker Gary Barnidge is the likely starter and Gray will get some reps on passing downs as an athletic former college wideout and quarterback. It's a black hole for fantasy owners.

Browns claimed TE MarQueis Gray off waivers from the 49ers.

Gray is a developmental project and former quarterback at Minnesota. The 49ers were hoping to stash Gray on their practice squad, but Cleveland plucked him. Undrafted rookie Gray is not a threat to Jordan Cameron's snaps.

49ers undrafted rookie H-back MarQueis Gray is trying to learn the old Delanie Walker role.

Gray was a quarterback and wide receiver in college. Now the 6-foot-3, 240-pounder is being asked to do some in-line blocking, run routes and carry the ball a little. "It's very hard," he said, "but you've just got to stay in the playbook and overcome adversity. ... Blocking and terminology being up front with the big guys – that's the biggest part of being a tight end." Gray could use a year on the practice squad.

The 49ers are listing MarQueis Gray as a running back.

Signed as an undrafted free agent shortly after the draft, Gray played wide receiver and quarterback at Minnesota. Presumably, he'll try to play an H-back type role, although he's probably a practice squad candidate at best.

49ers signed Minnesota TE MarQueis Gray.

Gray (6-foot-3 1/4, 240) shuttled between wide receiver and quarterback for the Gophers and is expected to be a developmental H-back or tight end in the pros. He ran a 4.69 forty with a 1.59 ten-yard split and 30-inch vertical at the Combine. As a sophomore receiver in 2010, Gray caught 42 passes for 587 yards (14.0 YPR) and five touchdowns. He faces long odds on such a deep 49ers roster.
