Ravens waived TE Matt Furstenburg, DL Cody Larsen, and LB D.J. Bryant, and signed TE Phillip Supernaw and OG Will Rackley.
Furstenburg was a slightly hyped 2013 UDFA out of Maryland. We suspect he'll generate some interest on waivers, but OC Gary Kubiak is going with Supernaw instead after having him in Houston. Rackley was a 2011 third-round pick by the Jaguars. He'll compete for a roster spot as an interior reserve. Mon, May 19, 2014 02:23:00 PM

Ravens signed TE TE Matt Furstenburg, DL Cody Larsen, OT J.J. Unga, G/C Reggie Stephens, OT Jordan Devey, LB Brandon Copeland and S Omar Brown to the practice squad.

A promising "move" prospect, Furstenburg could eventually get a look on the active roster if the Ravens don't like what they see from fading veteran Dallas Clark.

Ravens waived TE Matt Furstenburg, DL Cody Larson, and OT J.J. Unga.

Furstenburg is a quality "move" tight end prospect and will surely be re-signed to the practice squad if he clears waivers. He got squeezed out when the Ravens signed Dallas Clark to complement Ed Dickson.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens were more comfortable cutting Visanthe Shiancoe due to UDFA TE Matt Furstenburg's impressive August.

Furstenburg has four catches for 54 yards through three preseason games, including gains of 17 and 24. He's also been shining in practices. Furstenburg ran a 4.62 forty coming out of Maryland and projects as a possible long-term "move" tight end. He's going to make the Ravens behind Dallas Clark and Ed Dickson. Furstenburg is squarely on the radar in deeper Dynasty leagues.

Ravens signed Maryland TE Matt Furstenburg.

Furstenburg (6-foot-3 5/8, 242) managed just 60 receptions for 769 yards (12.8 YPR) and five touchdowns across four college seasons. In fairness, Maryland's quarterbacks were awful. Furstenburg helped himself with a standout Combine, running a 4.62 forty with a 1.59 ten-yard split and 35.5-inch vertical. Despite his smallish frame, Furstenburg is a surprisingly strong blocker and has some Delanie Walker to his game.
