New Browns OT Chris Hubbard expects to play right tackle in 2018.
That's where Hubbard filled in for the Steelers last season, but the Browns have a massive hole at left tackle following Joe Thomas' retirement. Second-year third-rounder Shon Coleman was a liability for the Browns on the right side last year, but perhaps he will get a look on the left this offseason. The Browns will presumably add another body, as well. Mar 15 - 1:55 PM

Browns signed OT Chris Hubbard, formerly of the Steelers, to a five-year, $37.5 million contract.

The deal comes with nearly $18 million in guaranteed money. Hubbard can play all over the field but saw most of his snaps at right tackle in Pittsburgh. He didn't wow over his 780 snaps last year, but the 26-year-old obviously represents a sizable upgrade on Shon Coleman, who was among the league's worst tackles in 2017. In Cleveland, Hubbard will be reunited with former Steelers OC Todd Haley.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the Steelers expect to lose free agent OL Chris Hubbard on the open market.

The Steelers believe Hubbard can "start elsewhere" and will get a "quality contract." Capable of playing all five positions along the offensive line, Hubbard was forced into 10 starts in 2017 with RT Marcus Gilbert missing time with injury and suspension. Gilbert earned replacement-level marks from Pro Football Focus, with a few awful games skewing his overall ratings. He turns 27 in April.

Steelers re-signed OL Chris Hubbard to a one-year, $1.797 million contract.

A restricted free agent, Hubbard signed his "original-pick" tender. Hubbard appeared in 15 games last season, starting four at right tackle. Hubbard is capable of playing all five positions along the line. He turns 26 later this month.

Steelers extended restricted free agent OL Chris Hubbard an original-pick tender.

The right of first refusal tender entitles Hubbard to a $1.8 million base salary. Teams can theoretically make him an offer sheet without giving up a draft pick, but the Steelers would be able to match. A former UDFA out of UAB's now-defunct football program, Hubbard held his own in four starts at right tackle last season. He also has the flexibility to play guard and even center.

Steelers signed G Chris Hubbard to a one-year contract extension.

Including the playoffs, Hubbard played only 34 snaps this year. He signed with the Steelers after going undrafted out of UAB in 2013.
