One personnel man told the National Football Post's Dan Pompei that he thinks free agent OG Brandon Moore is "overhyped."
Moore, 33 in June, is one of the better free agents left, but he's nothing more than a stopgap at this point. Moore is said to be seeking "starter money" -- $3-4 million annually -- in what has already proved to be a down market. Apr 7 - 9:18 AM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Total Access Friday that free agent OG Brandon Moore remains unsigned because he "wants starter money."

Starter money on the 2013 free-agent market for a guard is something between $3.5 million annually (Donald Thomas) and $7.8 million per year (Andy Levitre). Moore is probably targeting a Thomas-like deal, but getting $1.5 million to $2.5 million offers. 33 years old, Moore has visited the Lions and Dolphins while drawing lighter interest from the Cowboys and Bears.

Free agent OG Brandon Moore visited the Lions, but left without a contract.

It's unclear when the visit took place. MLive.com believes Moore may not become a real option for the Lions until after the draft. He may be off the market by then.

Free agent OG Brandon Moore has yet to visit the Cowboys.

Moore has been connected to Big D for the better part of a week, but the Cowboys are out of money again after signing LB Justin Durant and DB Will Allen. Reports have pegged Dallas as having as little as $25,000 to spend. If/when RT Doug Free is cut loose, the Cowboys could make a run at Moore, who'd be a great add for their woeful interior line.

The New York Daily News reports free agent OG Brandon Moore left his Dolphins visit without a contract, and will now make trips to Detroit and Dallas.

Per reporter Manish Mehta, "all indications" are that Moore's Dolphins visit went well. That is, aside from the offer, we'd suppose. Moore was one of the top interior linemen in all of football last season, but teams will hesitate to give a multi-year deal to a player who is three months shy of his 33rd birthday.

ESPN New York reports free agent OG Brandon Moore is drawing interest from the Cowboys and Lions in addition to the Dolphins.

Moore visited the Dolphins on Wednesday, but it's unknown if he's lined up visits with either Dallas or Detroit. Moore is going on 33, but both teams need to upgrade their interior line. Moore was Pro Football Focus' No. 4 rated guard last season.

Free agent OG Brandon Moore is visiting the Dolphins on Wednesday.

The Dolphins are going to shop until they drop. A 16-game starter each of the past eight seasons, Moore would be replacing RG John Jerry with Richie Incognito entrenched at left guard.

ESPN Chicago reports the Bears have "explored" free agent OG Brandon Moore.

Going on 33, Moore said Thursday he's had "surprisingly" little contact with the Jets. He's likely moving on from Gang Green, and would be a strong addition for a Bears team that neglected offensive line play for most of the Lovie Smith era.

Free agent RG Brandon Moore says he's had "surprisingly" little contact with the Jets.

The Jets have a ton of holes, and they're rumored to not be interested in signing many of their own free agents. Moore is one of the top guards available after Andy Levitre and Louis Vasquez, but at 33 years old his main goal is to find a Super Bowl contender. The Jets are the NFL's furthest team from that.
Mar 7 - 9:00 PM

ESPN New York says there's "little chance" impending free agents RG Brandon Moore and LG Matt Slauson return to the Jets.

Moore is in the top tier of free agent guards and should land a decent deal as a 32-year-old strong run-blocker. The Jets already have money tied up on the offensive line with LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson and C Nick Mangold. Slauson probably has a better chance of returning because he shouldn't command high dollar, but Vladimir Ducasse has been groomed to be his replacement.
Feb 8 - 8:33 AM

Jets RG Brandon Moore recently underwent a "minor surgical procedure."

The details are undisclosed, though the Jets do expect Moore to return to practice next week. Barring a setback, he should be available to face the Bills in the season opener. Moore was one of the most effective pass-blocking guards last year, yet one of the least effective in the ground attack.

According to Pro Football Focus, Jets RG Brandon Moore is the only guard in the league not to allow his quarterback to hit the ground once through 16 weeks.

In other words, Moore hasn't allowed a sack or a knock-down of Mark Sanchez. PFF grades Moore as one of the best pass-blockers, but also one of the least effective run-blocking guards in the NFL.

Jets activated RG Brandon Moore (hip surgery) from active/PUP and waived C Taylor Boggs.

The Jets played it cautiously with their 31-year-old guard, leaving him out of practices for the first two weeks of camp. He's now passed his physical and fully recovered. Still going very strong, Moore graded out as a top-ten guard last season per Pro Football Focus. He was a top-five pass blocker.

Jets RG Brandon Moore (hip surgery) will not be ready for the start of training camp.

Moore is "not sure" of his timetable for recovery. The 31-year-old mauling guard had surgery in early February, so he's now over five months removed from the operation. There's been no discussion of Moore beginning the season on PUP.

Jets RG Brandon Moore says his recovery from February hip surgery is going "according to plan" so far.

Moore, about six weeks removed from the procedure, has resumed walking but not running and can bike and do strength work. His recovery timetable has been set at "three to six months," so Moore in a worst case scenario would miss only the first few weeks of training camp. Turning 31 in June, Moore graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 10 overall guard in the NFL last year.
