The Saints did not select a tight end in the 2015 NFL draft.
If the Josh Hill hype machine wasn't in fifth gear before, it should be now. The 6-foot-5 third-year man with impressive Pro Day measureables is set for a massive boost in role following the trade of Jimmy Graham. The Saints, especially offensive schemer Sean Payton, haven't stopped raving about this kid since the season ended. May 3 - 10:58 AM

Saints coach Sean Payton emphasized his "love" for third-year TE Josh Hill on Wednesday.

"This Josh Hill is another player that I love. I love," Payton said. "When you look at his runs, jumps, height, weight, speed, you look at his measurables — and he didn’t go to the Combine, thank God." Payton went on to say he believed Hill would be perceived much differently around the league had he not been an undrafted free agent. Hill is the kind of player whose fantasy hype train could spiral out of control, but he's definitely a candidate for a major step forward in 2015.

Coach Sean Payton said third-year TE Josh Hill is a player "we value a lot."

Speaking Wednesday, Payton talked up both Hill and veteran TE Ben Watson as players whose roles are going to expand with Jimmy Graham out of the picture. Hill's ADP is skyrocketing by the day, as he's proven to be a touchdown-scorer in very limited opportunities during his first two seasons. He has TE1 upside, but is also a candidate to be overdrafted by the end of summer.

ESPN Saints reporter Mike Triplett expects the team to use a committee approach to replace Jimmy Graham at tight end.

Josh Hill sits atop the depth chart as a young riser at the position, but steady veteran Ben Watson will also be a big part of the offense. Former Bengals third-rounder Orson Charles was also signed after the season. The Saints remain a prime candidate to select a tight end in next month's draft and could be a landing spot for Maxx Williams with the No. 31 overall pick they acquired from Seattle.

Saints coach Sean Payton gushed over rising third-year TE Josh Hill at his season-ending press conference, calling Hill "exactly what we're looking for."

The starting tight end job in New Orleans is Hill's to lose following Jimmy Graham's departure. Hill led the Saints in 2014 special teams tackles and has six touchdown catches on 30 career targets. "He's exactly what we're looking for," said Payton with a wide grin, several months before the Graham trade. "Each week you know exactly what you're gonna get. He's talented, he can run, he's young. He's consistent. Those are things that allow you to win." Payton also discussed Hill's eye-opening Pro Day measurables. If your Dynasty league has open offseason waivers, stop what you're doing and pick Hill up.

Josh Hill wasn't targeted in the Saints' Week 17 win over the Bucs.

A second-year undrafted free agent out of Idaho State, Hill closes the book on his sophomore campaign the owner of a 14/176/5 line. He should have a roster spot for 2015.

Saints TE Josh Hill caught two passes for 15 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 15 win over the Bears.

They were the only two targets Hill saw on the night. He now has five touchdowns on the season on 20 targets. The Week 15 scores came at a horrible time for Jimmy Graham owners. Hill is obviously not a fantasy option.

Saints TE Josh Hill is expected to see "a little" more production if Jimmy Graham (shoulder) sits out Sunday.

ESPN Saints reporter Mike Triplett expects the biggest beneficiary of Graham's likely absence to be Marques Colston. After that, Brandin Cooks, Kenny Stills, Ben Watson and Hill will also get a slight boost in targets. Hill does not project to see enough volume to make him much more than a touchdown-dependent TE2.

Josh Hill caught 2-of-2 targets for 48 yards and a touchdown in New Orleans' Week 3 win over the Vikings.

The targets were Hill's second and third of the season, while the score was the second of his career. With the Vikings fixated on Jimmy Graham, Hill got left all alone on his 34-yard score in the first quarter. He'll be lucky to find pay dirt again this season.

As Jimmy Graham stays away from OTAs, second-year TE Josh Hill is handling first-team reps with veteran Ben Watson.

Hill is something of a super-deep sleeper. He made the Saints as a 2013 undrafted rookie out of Idaho State, and offers plus speed (4.66) to go with a highly explosive broad jump of 10-foot-7 at 6-foot-5 and 246 pounds. Hill is someone to consider grabbing in Dynasty leagues. He could appear on the re-draft radar if Graham missed regular season time due to injury or holdout.

ESPN Saints reporter Mike Triplett reports the team is high on second-year TE Josh Hill.

Hill, an undrafted free agent out of Idaho State, played 246 offensive snaps as a rookie and saw plenty of action in the playoffs as the No. 3 tight end. At his Pro Day, Hill posted a 4.66 forty and 36.5-inch vertical. A catch-first tight end with plus athleticism, the Saints could be grooming Hill for eventual No. 2 duties.

Saints TE Josh Hill caught one pass for 23 yards in New Orleans' Divisional Round loss to the Seahawks.

An undrafted rookie out of small-school Idaho State, Hill did a nice Jimmy Graham impression on his 23-yard catch, going airborne to make the grab. Hill won a roster spot in training camp, finishing the regular season with six catches for 44 yards and a touchdown. He'll have an inside track on a 2014 roster spot.
