Paul Worrilow's new deal with the Lions is a one-year, $3-million contract.
Almost all of that is guaranteed, and he can earn another $1 million in play-time incentives. The contract suggests the Lions plan for Worrilow to at the very least compete for a starting job, and they are likely projecting him to win one. Detroit's linebacking corps was among the worst in the league last year, and they ended up cutting DeAndre Levy before free agency. Even if Worrilow nabs a starting job, they need more help. Lions signed ILB Paul Worrilow to a one-year contract.

Worrilow spent 2016 backing up Falcons MLB Deion Jones. A starter his first three years in this league, Worrilow put up big tackle stats but was brutally ineffective in run defense and coverage. He's best used as a fourth linebacker.

Free agent ILB Paul Worrilow is drawing interest from multiple teams.

The Patriots, Lions, Eagles and Colts have all been linked to him. Worrilow was demoted to a backup role last year but was a tackle machine his first three years as a starter. He's the No. 15 linebacker in Rotoworld's free agent rankings.

Falcons ILB Paul Worrilow (groin) will undergo surgery this week.

Worrilow will miss at least four games, but is likely to be placed on I.R. Philip Wheeler will back up Deion Jones in his absence.

ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure believes ILB Paul Worrilow will hold onto his starting job.

Second-rounder Deion Jones will certainly make a run at the veteran, but McClure thinks Worrilow will hold him off. At the very least, Jones should supplant Worrilow in passing situations. Fourth-round rookie De'Vondre Campbell is expected to start on the weakside.

Falcons re-signed MLB Paul Worrilow to a one-year, $2.553 million contract.

It's the level Worrilow was tendered at as a restricted free agent last week. He was Pro Football Focus' 53rd-ranked inside linebacker among 60 qualifiers last season, struggling badly against the run and in coverage. The Falcons have flirted with veteran free agent MLB James Laurinaitis as a replacement.

Falcons extended a second-round tender to restricted free agent MLB Paul Worrilow.

The tag is worth $2.553 million. Although Worrilow has been one of the NFL's least effective inside linebackers over the past three seasons, he has led Atlanta in tackles in each of those years, and the Falcons intend to keep him at an affordable cost. The Falcons are aware of Worrilow's shortcomings, however, and have flirted with ex-Rams MLB James Laurinaitis in free agency.

Falcons declared LB Paul Worrilow, RB Terron Ward, CB Akeem King, G Ben Garland, T Bryce Harris, NT Joey Mbu and DE Malliciah Goodman inactive for Week 15 against the Jaguars.

Paul Soliai (calf) is back, but losing Worrilow is a big blow to the run defense. Denard Robinson is a must-start option this week.

Falcons MLB Paul Worrilow (knee) has been ruled out for Week 15.

Shoelace Robinson will face the Falcons without their middle linebacker. Atlanta has been getting gashed in run defense even with Worrilow playing.

Falcons MLB Paul Worrilow is day to day with a "bad" calf bruise.

Worrilow missed the entire second half of Sunday's victory over the Giants, suggesting he'll be dicey for Week 3. Allen Bradford filled in against the G-Men, and would do so again against the Cowboys.

Coach Dan Quinn praised MLB Paul Worrilow, saying he's having a "terrific offseason."

"I challenged the guys to have the best offseason they’ve ever had," Quinn said. "He is literally having that." Worrilow has started 28 games since entering the league as a 2013 UDFA out of Delaware. But he was PFF's No. 59 inside 'backer out of 60 qualifiers last season. Worrilow is still likely to be a 2015 starter, playing the Bobby Wagner role in Quinn's defense.

Falcons ILB Paul Worrilow briefly exited Week 16 against the Saints with a left arm injury.

Worrilow smacked Mark Ingram at the line of scrimmage in the second quarter, but appeared to take the brunt of the blow. He walked off the field under his own power but was holding his left arm gingerly. He is expected to return. Worrilow entered the game with the fourth most tackles in the NFL.

Second-year ILB Paul Worrilow is embracing a leadership role in the wake of LB Sean Weatherspoon's season-ending Achilles' injury.

A 2013 UFDA out of Delaware, Worrilow was forced into early action last season because of injuries. He held his own, recording a team-leading 127 tackles, two sacks, and a pass breakup. Worrilow has a long way to go before he is a quality real-life linebacker, but he is a solid LB2 in IDP formats.

Falcons MLB Paul Worrilow recorded a tackle on 16.1 percent of his snaps in 2013.

That's 127 total tackles in 790 snaps for the undrafted 'backer in his rookie season. Worrilow was just behind Vontaze Burfict's league-leading rate of 16.4 percent. Worrilow projects as an every-down player in 2014. He remains squarely on the IDP radar as a midrange LB2.
