Benny Cunningham played 28-of-60 snaps (47 percent) Week 10 against the Packers.
Tarik Cohen was limited to just 13 snaps despite the Bears playing from behind the entire second half. Cunningham looks like the passing-down back of choice right now in Chicago, and while that may not result in much fantasy value for him, it makes Cohen droppable in standard leagues. Benny Cunningham (hamstring) is inactive for Week 7 against the Panthers.

Cunningham has eaten into Tarik Cohen's snaps when active this season, so this is an upgrade to Cohen's fantasy outlook. Chicago also declared Markus Wheaton (groin), CB Sherrick McManis (hamstring), LB John Timu (ankle, knee), C Hroniss Grasu (hand), DL John Jenkins, and QB Mark Sanchez inactive for Week 7.

Benny Cunningham (hamstring) is questionable for Week 7 against the Panthers.

Cunningham will probably suit up after putting in a limited week of practice, but his status is at least worth monitoring since his absence would mean more snaps for Tarik Cohen. The 27-year-old has gone for 96 yards and a touchdown on only 11 touches this season.

Bears RB Benny Cunningham (high-ankle sprain) has resumed practicing, and was "full" on Thursday.

Howard went down just 11 days ago, so the "full" return is surprising. Perhaps he's being rushed with Jordan Howard (shoulder) at less than 100 percent. Howard seems like he will suit up against the Steelers, but Cunningham would be nice insurance.
Sep 21 - 2:41 PM

Bears RB Benny Cunningham has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain.

Even with Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen locked in atop the depth chart, it's a not insignificant injury for the Bears, who are going to have to rely on their backfield with a depleted receiver corps. Cunningham could miss anywhere from 4-6 weeks.
Sep 11 - 2:46 PM

Bears RB Benny Cunnigham was carted off the field with an ankle injury in Week 1.

He went down early in the second quarter after receiving zero touches in the early going. Cunningham's loss would mean more playing time for Tarik Cohen.
Sep 10 - 1:52 PM

Bears signed RB Benny Cunningham, formerly of the Rams, to a one-year contract.

It's a solid, under-the-radar signing for the Bears. Cunningham is a dependable pass-catching and pass-protecting runner out of the backfield who didn't get many opportunities behind Todd Gurley in L.A. Cunningham can also return kickoffs; he has a 27.1 average on 95 career returns. His addition could spell trouble for Jeremy Langford and/or Ka'Deem Carey behind Jordan Howard.
Mar 21 - 9:04 PM

Free agent RB Benny Cunningham will visit the Bears on Tuesday.

Cunningham met with the Jets earlier this month, but he did not land a deal. The Bears appear set in the backfield with Jordan Howard, Jeremy Langford, and Ka'Deem Carey, but Cunningham can contribute as a kick returner.
Mar 21 - 10:12 AM

Free agent RB Benny Cunningham will visit the Jets.

The Jets want backfield depth after releasing Khiry Robinson. Cunningham didn't see a ton of work in Los Angeles behind Todd Gurley, but he's shown that he can be a factor when called upon, particularly in the passing game. In New York, he'd be the No. 3 back behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell.
Mar 9 - 5:14 PM

Rams placed RB Benny Cunningham on injured reserve with a neck injury, ending his season.

Cunningham went down in Week 13. Todd Gurley's change of pace finishes the year with a modest 37 touches, just 21 of which were carries. Cunningham is a poor runner and average pass catcher. With Cunningham in the final year of his contract, the Rams could look for an upgrade this offseason.

Benny Cunningham (neck) is doubtful for Week 15 against the Seahawks.

Cunningham hasn't practiced or played since hurting his neck in Week 13. Malcolm Brown fared poorly in a change-of-pace role last week with 14 rushing yards and a lost fumble on only four carries. Todd Gurley should see another big workload against Seattle.

Benny Cunningham (neck) is doubtful for Week 14 against the Falcons.

He didn't practice all week and isn't going to play on Sunday. It's a slight upgrade for Todd Gurley, though Cunningham hasn't exactly been a drain on his workload. Cunningham has averaged just 3.36 touches across 11 games this season. Consider Cunningham week to week.

Benny Cunningham rushed six times for 40 yards and caught 3-of-5 targets for seven yards in the Rams' Week 10 win over the Jets.

The Rams' change-of-pace back worked into the game whenever Todd Gurley needed a breather. Although Cunningham is a useful asset to the Rams' offense, he lacks value in re-draft leagues as a lightly used role player.

Coach Jeff Fisher said he expects RB Benny Cunningham (thigh) to return to the lineup Week 6 against the Lions.

It's bad news for Todd Gurley owners. With Cunningham out each of the past two games, Gurley has seen a spike in pass-game usage. Gurley averaged five targets per game without Cunningham, but was seeing just two with him. The Lions are the only team yet to allow a rushing touchdown to an opposing running back. Week 6 doesn't look like a slump-busting spot for Gurley.

Rams declared RB Benny Cunningham, DT Michael Brockers, DE William Hayes, QB Sean Mannion, OT Pace Murphy, DE Robert Quinn and WR Nelson Spruce inactive for Week 5 against the Bills.

Cunningham's absence is a bit of a surprise. He left last week's game with a hamstring injury but was able to practice on a limited basis on Thursday and Friday. Todd Gurley could see more work in the passing game with Cunningham sidelined. Kenny Britt (thigh) and Cody Davis (groin) are active for Los Angeles.
