Seahawks re-signed S Bradley McDougald to a three-year, $13.95 million contract.
A flier one-year signing last March, McDougald was forced into a starting role following Kam Chancellor's injury and performed relatively well. With Chancellor's future at best in question, it made sense for Seattle to bring McDougald back. He should have the inside track on a starting job if Chancellor remains sidelined. Mar 12 - 11:16 AM

The Seahawks are expected to re-sign free agent Bradley McDougald.

McDougald had a solid first year as the starter opposite Earl Thomas in Seattle. He can play both safety spots and shouldn’t cost much to re-sign. McDougald will likely face preseason competition from Delano Hill and Tedric Thompson.

Bradley McDougald could be employed as a nickel corner this year.

The Seahawks ran what amounted to a 4-2-5 last season, employing two linebackers and five defensive backs. That's not a particularly unusual alignment as many teams are placing greater importance on sub-packages. The role of slot corner was occupied by Jeremy Lane, but Lane will be moving outside to spell DeShawn Shead (torn ACL), who won't be ready for Week 1. McDougald is a safety by trade, so it's not a given that he'll be able to make that transition. The Seahawks are certain to draft another cornerback.

Seahawks signed S Bradley McDougald, formerly of the Bucs, to a one-year, $1.8 million contract.

The deal comes with a $750,000 signing bonus. McDougald, 26, also visited the Browns. He would have started in Cleveland, but McDougald will settle in as Seattle's No. 3 safety behind FS Earl Thomas and SS Kam Chancellor, both of whom are recovering from surgeries. McDougald showed promise in Tampa Bay as a box safety, but the Bucs moved on with former Cowboys S J.J. Wilcox.

The Browns hosted free agent SS Bradley McDougald.

With Derrick Kindred and Ed Reynolds currently sitting atop the depth chart, the Browns need help at safety. They missed on Tony Jefferson in wave one of free agency. McDougald is a 26-year-old box safety with man-coverage experience against tight ends. He's been a starter in Tampa Bay the past two-plus years.

Free agent S Bradley McDougald will visit the Seahawks this week.

The Bucs are moving on after signing J.J. Wilcox. McDougald has started 31 games over the past two seasons, and would be an experienced insurance policy on Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas, both of whom are recovering from injury.

Bucs GM Jason Licht said he's interested in re-signing free agent SS Bradley McDougald.

The Bucs are in talks with McDougald, but don't look close to a deal. Entering his age-27 season, there's likely going to be a solid market for McDougald if hits free agency. The Bucs should prioritize re-signing McDougald over Chris Conte.

Bucs re-signed S Bradley McDougald to a one-year, $2.553 million contract.

A restricted free agent, McDougald was tendered at the second-round level. A 2013 UDFA, McDougald started 15-of-16 games last season, alternating between the box and center field. He wasn't all that effective. Ideally he would be the Bucs' No. 3 safety.

Buccaneers extended a second-round tender to restricted free agent SS Bradley McDougald.

The tender carries a $2.5 million value. The Bucs can match any offer he gets elsewhere or let him walk and receive a second-round pick as compensation. McDougald started 15 of 16 games for the Bucs last season while finishing third on the team with 87 tackles.

SS Bradley McDougald left the Buccaneers' Week 9 game against the Giants with a concussion and will not return.

Obviously McDougald will need to go through the league's concussion protocol before he can get back on the field. He'll finish the game with three tackles. Keith Tandy will take over for him at strong safety.

The Bucs reportedly believe SS Bradley McDougald has a chance to emerge as an elite player.

McDougald, a 2013 UDFA out of Kansas, started the final five games of last season in the wake of the Mark Barron trade. During that time, he totaled 36 tackles, one interception and five pass breakups. Elite is a strong word, but McDougald showed signs of being a plus player at strong safety in Lovie Smith's Cover-2.

Bucs SS Bradley McDougald was forced from Saturday's preseason game against the Bills with a knee injury.

McDougald drew the start over Mark Barron, and was playing opposite Dashon Goldson in base sets. More should be known on the injury when the Bucs update on his status. McDougald has been impressing in camp and is in the mix for a rotational safety role.

Bucs claimed DB Bradley McDougald off waivers from the Chiefs.

McDougald, an undrafted free agent out of Kansas, will add depth to the Bucs secondary and contribute on special teams. RB/KR Jeff Demps was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Chiefs waived CB Bradley McDougald.

The move clears a roster spot for CB Sanders Commings, who is coming off injured reserve/designated to return. An undrafted rookie out of Kansas, McDougald had appeared in only one game.
