Patriots re-signed OT LaAdrian Waddle to a one-year contract.
Waddle, 26, made five starts at right tackle for last year's Patriots, struggling mightily as a pass blocker and eventually losing his job to Cameron Fleming after Marcus Cannon's year-ending ankle injury. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport called Waddle an "option" to replace Nate Solder as the Patriots' starting left tackle. New England would be smart to add competition in April's draft. Mar 22 - 4:03 PM

Free agent OT LaAdrian Waddle visited the Patriots on Friday.

Per ESPN's Mike Reiss, "a deal might not be far off." The Patriots could be interested in him as a replacement for Nate Solder, who signed with the Giants last week. New addition Matt Tobin will also be considered for the Patriots' opening at left tackle.

Patriots re-signed OT LaAdrian Waddle to a two-year, $2.425 million contract.

Patriots claimed OT LaAdrian Waddle off waivers from Detroit.

Waddle struggled in six starts coming back from a torn ACL, grading out as PFF's second-worst tackle. He was a big part of Detroit's offensive line issues, but has 24 games of starting experience, is only 24 years old, and costs the league minimum. Waddle should back up RT Marcus Cannon.

Lions waived OT LaAdrian Waddle.

C Gabe Ikard was claimed off waivers in a corresponding roster move. Coming back from a torn ACL, Waddle started six games this season, but was extremely ineffective. He was benched for Michael Ola in Week 11, and had played only 24 snaps since. Cornelius Lucas will back up Ola for Weeks 15-17.

Lions RT LaAdrian Waddle (knee) is active but not starting Week 2 against the Vikings.

Cornelius Lucas will start for the second week in a row at right tackle. Waddle practiced in full all week, but the Lions are being exceedingly careful with their starting tackle. Waddle should be back as the starter next week.

Lions RT LaAdrian Waddle (knee) is not listed on the Week 2 injury report.

Waddle practiced in full the final two sessions of last week and should be a full participant this week as well. The Lions plan to be conservative with their right tackle, so there is still a chance he does not play Week 2. Cornelius Lucas will earn another start if Waddle does not play.

Lions declared RT LaAdrian Waddle, RG Larry Warford, DT Caraun Reid, LB DeAndre Levy, WR TJ Jones, CB Nevin Lawson and TE Tim Wright inactive for Week 1 against the Chargers.

With Waddle and Warford out, the Lions will turn to Manny Ramirez and Cornelius Lucas at right guard and tackle. Josh Bynes will start in the place of Levy.

MLive reported Lions RT LaAdrian Waddle (questionable, knee) is not expected to play Week 1.

Waddle got in full practices on Thursday and Friday, but he is not quite ready to go. Cornelius Lucas will start in his place. With Larry Warford (ankle) also out, the Lions will have a completely new right side of the offensive line to open the season.

Lions activated RT LaAdrian Waddle from the active/PUP list.

Waddle tore his ACL late last season and missed all of camp to this point. He'll resume practicing immediately and try to win back the Lions' starting right tackle job, where Cornelius Lucas and converted TE Michael Williams have been vying for snaps. Waddle will at worst be Detroit's top swing tackle.

Lions RT LaAdrian Waddle (knee) is "weeks away" from being ready for games.

Waddle has been shut down all offseason, leaving Cornelius Lucas and former tight end Michael Williams to compete opposite Riley Reiff. Waddle's Week 1 status remains up in the air, though he is expected to avoid reserve/PUP.

Lions placed RT LaAdrian Waddle (knee) on the active/PUP list.

Waddle missed the entire offseason program with a torn ACL. His Week 1 status remains questionable. The Lions have interest in free agent RT Gosder Cherilus as insurance for Waddle.

Lions RT LaAdrian Waddle (knee) is targeting Week 1 for his return.

Waddle suffered a partially torn ACL in Week 15 and underwent surgery in January. He just started running this week. The Lions failed to draft a tackle, leaving second-year UDFA Cornelius Lucas as Waddle's primary competition.

The Lions expect OT LaAdrian Waddle (ACL) to remain sidelined "for a bit."

Waddle underwent surgery in mid-January. It's obviously not surprising he'll remain sidelined "for a bit," but it's notable that the Lions aren't putting any sort of a timetable on his return. As it stands right now, the Lions' 2014 right tackle is a strong candidate to begin 2015 on the reserve/PUP list, costing him six games.
