Chiefs released TE Anthony Becht.

The leg injury Becht suffered against the Chargers last week may have been more serious than mere cramping. The blocking specialist will now have to prove his health before getting a shot elsewhere.

Chiefs TE Anthony Becht left Sunday's game against the Chargers with a left leg injury.

Becht is questionable return. The blocking tight end appeared to be cramping.

Chiefs re-signed TE Anthony Becht.

The blocking specialist is getting the call over Jake O'Connell, who was waived in a related move. It could be a sign that the Chiefs are planning (hoping?) to run the ball down Detroit's throats this week.

Chiefs released TE Anthony Becht.

Becht came oh-so-close to cracking the final roster, mostly based on Tony Moeaki's ACL tear. Instead, the Chiefs claimed Steve Maneri off waivers perhaps to be a tight end in jumbo packages. Becht is strictly a blocking specialist.

Chiefs signed TE Anthony Becht to a one-year contract.

Becht was out of the league last year after losing out to Stephen Spach in Arizona. Now 34, he'll try to stick in Kansas City as a blocker. Coach Todd Haley and Becht were both with the Jets in 2000.

Free agent TE Anthony Becht reportedly worked out for the Falcons Sunday.

The 34-year-old was out of the league last season after playing 158 of 160 games from 2000-2009. Becht had been taking on a bigger role in the media, so we're surprised to hear he was in Flowery Branch to get a look-see from the Falcons. The visit was likely precipitated by the knee injury to blocking specialist Justin Peelle in the preseason opener.

According to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero, the Dolphins have no interest in free agent TE Anthony Becht.

Salguero cites a league source. Becht can block, but he's 33 years old and couldn't beat out Stephen Spach. The Dolphins are thin at TE and Becht is a Bill Parcells favorite, so he may have a hard time finding a job before Week 1.

Cardinals released TE Anthony Becht.

The blocking specialist re-signed in Arizona last March after making visits to the Raiders and 49ers. Steven Spach will handle blocking duties now, with rookie Jim Dray waiting in the wings.

Cardinals re-signed TE Anthony Becht to a one-year, $950,000 contract.

He visited with the Niners and Raides before coming back to Arizona. Becht has caught just 18 balls in the last three seasons, but will help Beanie Wells and the running game.

Free agent TE Anthony Becht is reportedly visiting the 49ers on Tuesday.

The Niners' second tight end will be used strictly as a blocker, so the more physical Becht is a better fit than Chris Baker, who is also visiting this week.

Free agent TE Anthony Becht will visit with the Raiders Monday.

Becht, 33 before next season, would be a blocking complement to Zach Miller. The former first-round pick of the Jets has caught a total of 18 balls in the last three seasons.

Cardinals signed TE Anthony Becht to a one-year contract.

Becht is nothing more than a blocker at this stage of his career. He'll compete for playing time with Leonard Pope and Ben Patrick, neither of whom is an effective in-line tight end.
Thu, Mar 19, 2009 05:46:00 PM

Rams released TE Anthony Becht.

Becht, one of the Jets' infamous former first-round picks, caught just six passes last season and was used mostly as a blocker. He did not have an obvious impact in any game and wasn't worth his $1M scheduled salary.

Rams TE Anthony Becht has been sidelined since July 28 -- the first day of training camp -- with a hamstring injury.

Becht was signed to relieve Randy McMichael of some responsibilities in the run game, but may now risk getting cut. Joe Klopfenstein has earned praise in training camp and is a functional in-line blocker with more athleticism.
