Chiefs signed OLB Andy Mulumba, formerly of the Packers, to a one-year contract.
Mulumba entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Michigan. He was an important reserve for the Packers in 2013, but an ACL tear in 2014 derailed his young career. Green Bay did not offer him a tender as a restricted free agent this offseason. With Justin Houston (ACL) set to miss the beginning of the season, Mulumba could earn an early role on defense. Free agent OLB Andy Mulumba is visiting the Patriots and Chiefs.

Mulumba is a former "name" undrafted free agent whose development stalled after tearing his ACL late in the 2014 season. He played just 59 snaps between defense and special teams in 2015. Mulumba would seem an unlikely candidate to draw visits in free agency, but it's certainly noteworthy that great organizations in the Pats and Chiefs have taken an interest.

Mulumba tore his ACL in Week 2. He's signed through 2015 and will be back next year to compete for a roster spot on special teams.

Packers OLB Andy Mulumba will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

Mulumba, a special teams-only player, tore his ACL last week against the Jets. With Clay Matthews and Nick Perry dogged by injuries last season, Mulumba played 361 defensive snaps. He'll compete for a roster spot next summer.

Packers OLB Andy Mulumba suffered a "significant" knee injury in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Jets.

Coach Mike McCarthy admitted it "didn't look good." The second-year UDFA played 361 defensive snaps last season, recording 30 tackles and one sack. He hadn't played at all on defense through Green Bay's first two games, instead being limited to special teams. The Packers are deeper on the outside in 2014.
