Ravens coach John Harbaugh believes it "should be a big year" for Marlon Brown.
Brown will open the year no higher than No. 3 on the depth chart after the Ravens selected Breshad Perriman in the first round, but there will still be plenty of targets for the taking. In theory, Brown will battle it out with Kamar Aiken to be No. 3 on the wideout targets totem pole. Standing in at 6-foot-5, Brown wasn't targeted inside the 20-yard line last season. That needs to change in 2015. May 12 - 7:23 PM

The Ravens are not expected to go into the season with Marlon Brown or Kamar Aiken as a starting receiver.

The Ravens currently have 35-year-old Steve Smith and a bunch of borderline NFL players on their wideout depth chart. Perhaps no team is more likely to spend a priority draft pick at the position, especially with pass-happy Marc Trestman coordinating the offense. The Ravens hold the No. 26 overall pick, a spot they could land someone like Arizona State WR Jaelen Strong or Central Florida WR Breshad Perriman.

Marlon Brown didn't have a single target when the Ravens were inside the 20-yard line in 2014.

At 6'5/214, Brown's strength should be in the red zone -- he caught seven touchdowns as a rookie in 2013. But a poor 2014 training camp coupled with sustained health from most of the Ravens' receiving corps left him with little opportunity. Brown played 27.0 snaps per game and finished with 24-255-0, often operating as the No. 4 receiver. The Ravens can't trust him to step up to the plate should Torrey Smith move on in free agency.

Feb 9 - 9:26 AM

Marlon Brown caught 5-of-8 targets for 39 yards in the Ravens' Divisional Round loss to the Patriots.

With Torrey Smith and Steve Smith Sr. both playing through minor injuries, Brown surprisingly led Baltimore's receiver corps in targets. The five-catch effort was just his second of the season. Brown is a massive target at 6-foot-5, 214 pounds, but lacks the polish to be more than a No. 3 or 4 wideout. His game is without nuance. Turning 24 in April, Brown should be back in Baltimore at his $585,000 salary.

Marlon Brown (concussion) has been cleared to play this week.

Brown is listed as probable after practicing in full the last two days. He'll be the Ravens' No. 4 receiver against Miami.

Ravens WR Marlon Brown left Sunday's Week 13 game against the Chargers in the second quarter with a concussion.

Brown went up high for a cross-field throw and got slammed to the turf by Shareece Wright. He hit his head on the turf and was taken to the locker room. Kamar Aiken has come on as the No. 3 wideout for Joe Flacco.

Marlon Brown secured 2-of-2 targets for 18 yards in the Ravens' Week 10 win over the Titans.

Brown is a chain mover whenever he gets opportunities to make plays, but those have become increasingly few and far between as OC Gary Kubiak hardly uses his sub-package receivers. Brown will continue to share third wideout snaps with Kamar Aiken. He's only worth a roster spot in deeper Dynasty leagues.

Ravens declared WR Marlon Brown, G Kelechi Osemele, OT Eugene Monroe, DE Chris Canty, CB Chykie Brown, LB Arthur Brown, and TE Ryan Taylor inactive for Week 7 against the Falcons.

Brown's inactivity is a surprise as he was listed as probable on the injury report with a pelvis ailment. Jacoby Jones and Kamar Aiken will presumably share third receiver work behind starters Steve Smith Sr. and Torrey Smith.

Marlon Brown is listed as probable for Week 7.

Brown will return after missing last week's game. He'll play in three-wide sets against the Falcons, with Jacoby Jones getting limited snaps in sub packages.

Marlon Brown is practicing in full for Week 7.

Brown is on track to return this week after being held out of Sunday's win. He'll be the Ravens' No. 3 receiver against the Falcons.

Marlon Brown (pelvis) is listed as doubtful for Week 6.

Jacoby Jones or Kamar Aiken will fill in as Baltimore's No. 3 receiver.

Marlon Brown (pelvis) remained out of Ravens practice Thursday.

The reserve wideout is looking doubtful for Week 6, which would thrust Jacoby Jones back into a slightly bigger role in the Ravens' offense. Neither player is on the fantasy radar.

Marlon Brown (pelvis) did not practice Wednesday.

Brown appeared to pass Jacoby Jones on the depth chart last week, but it's not clear if the injury will sideline him for Sunday's game. Even when healthy, he'll remain off the fantasy radar.

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley believes Marlon Brown "deserves to be the No. 3" wide receiver over Jacoby Jones.

Jones has more drops (four) than catches (three) this season, while Brown has caught all four of his targets. Brown is not the deep threat Jones is, however, and neither player is likely to see many targets in OC Gary Kubiak's tight end heavy scheme. Brown is a hold in Dynasty leagues, but is still well off the redraft radar.

Marlon Brown caught 3-of-3 targets for 31 yards in the Ravens' Week 4 win over the Panthers.

The stats aren't flashy, but Brown could have bought himself some more playing time going forward with chain-moving receptions in critical situations. He's a more efficient and higher-upside option than Jacoby Jones in Baltimore's No. 3 receiver role. Only 23 years old, Brown is a hold in Dynasty leagues.
