Ravens hired former Bills OC Greg Roman.

Roman's official title is still being worked out, but he was hired to help jump-start a rushing attack which averaged just 91 yards a game this season. The Bills were one of the best rushing offenses in the league under Roman, and the 49ers finished 8th, 4th, 3rd, and 4th in rushing yards while he was running the show. This is a good hire.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Greg Roman is a candidate to replace Pep Hamilton as the Browns' QBs coach.

Hamilton just left the Browns to become the passing-game coordinator at the University of Michigan, where he will serve under head coach Jim Harbaugh. Roman was fired as the Bills' offensive coordinator just two games into the 2016 season. The Bills' offense actually performed well under Roman, who was thought to be a scapegoat for head coach Rex Ryan. Of course, Ryan himself was let go later in the year. Even if it's not with Cleveland, Roman should find an opportunity in the NFL somewhere this offseason.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Greg Roman is a candidate for Baltimore's offensive coordinator job.

The Ravens are expected to fire OC Marty Mornhinweg as soon as Monday. Roman has been out of the league since getting scapegoated for Rex Ryan's failures two weeks into the season. He doesn't have direct ties to Baltimore, but coordinated under Jim Harbaugh in San Francisco. Roman would be a solid hire for a team that had one of the worst run games in the league. Buffalo was the top rushing offense under Roman in 2015.

Bills fired OC Greg Roman.

Roman is taking the fall for the failures of Rex Ryan's defense, which was absolutely annihilated by Ryan Fitzpatrick, Matt Forte, and the Jets on Buffalo's home turf Thursday night. Ryan's defense got gashed by the run and couldn't generate any pressure last season, something Rex essentially blamed on outgoing DC Jim Schwartz. The Bills are now blaming Roman. Quickly, the Bills have become one of the NFL's most dysfunctional organizations. A full-on house cleaning will likely take place at season's end.

Bills hired Greg Roman as their offensive coordinator.

It's a lateral move for Roman, who spent the last four seasons in charge of the 49ers' offense. During that time, he went to three NFC Championship Games and one Super Bowl, although the offense ranked 20th, 24th, 11th and 26th in yards. Colin Kaepernick also regressed in 2014. Roman will have a ton of responsibility as the OC for exclusively defensive-minded Rex Ryan, but also has his work cut out for him with E.J. Manuel at quarterback.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bills are expected to hire in-limbo 49ers OC Greg Roman as offensive coordinator.

Ryan and Roman worked together as Ravens assistants from 2006-2007. Roman's first, second, and third tasks will be to figure out the quarterback situation in Buffalo. It's the only thing holding the Bills back. Without a first-round pick in the 2015 draft and no real free-agency options, Roman may have to work some magic with E.J. Manuel. The 49ers turned second-rounder Colin Kaepernick into a viable starter under Roman's watch, but he regressed the last couple seasons under Roman and ex-coach Jim Harbaugh.

The Browns have been granted permission to interview 49ers OC Greg Roman for their open offensive coordinator position.

The two sides are scheduled to meet Monday. Roman was a head coaching candidate in previous offseasons, but he has been limited to offensive coordinator interviews this go around after the 49ers' offense regressed in a big way in 2014. Roman is also among the Rams' offensive coordinator candidates.

The Rams have been granted permission to interview Greg Roman for their offensive coordinator job.

Roman has served as the 49ers' play-caller the last four seasons. He's also been connected to Jacksonville's OC job and is scheduled to interview for the Bills' head-coaching vacancy. Roman is the first candidate linked to the Rams since losing Brian Schottenheimer earlier this week.

The Florida Times Union reports in limbo 49ers OC Greg Roman will interview for the same position in Jacksonville.

The interview will take place "later this week." The Times Union had already pegged Roman as a "name to watch" in Jacksonville. Teams are only required to let coordinators interview for head-coaching gigs, but the 49ers have given Roman the go ahead to talk to Jax and Tampa Bay. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Jags have also requested permission to interview Vikings RBs coach Kirby Wilson as they look to replace Jedd Fisch.

49ers OC Greg Roman will interview for the Bills head coaching vacancy Friday.

Roman has been in charge of the 49ers' offense since 2011. During that time, the unit has ranked 20th or worse in 3-of-4 seasons. Colin Kaepernick's lack of progression is a major blemish on his resume, especially with the Bills so lost at quarterback right now.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bills have requested permission to interview in-limbo 49ers OC Greg Roman for their head-coaching vacancy.

Who aren't the Bills going to interview? It'd be easier to name who isn't on the list. Roman was a popular head-coaching candidate two offseason ago, but his star has dimmed of late. He's also been linked to the Bucs and Jaguars' OC jobs.

FOX Sports' Alex Marvez reports the Bucs interviewed in-limbo 49ers OC Greg Roman for the same position in Tampa Bay.

Roman isn't expected to follow coach Jim Harbaugh to Michigan. He'll remain in the NFL to coordinate an offense, where he's being called a "hot commodity." Roman was the 49ers' OC for four seasons, and San Francisco finished as a top-five rushing offense during that time. But their passing game struggled for long stretches. Coach Lovie Smith seems to favor a run-first mindset on offense. Roman has also been mentioned as a "name to watch" for the Jaguars' OC job.

The Florida Times Union pinpoints in-limbo 49ers OC Greg Roman as a "name to watch" for the Jaguars' offensive-coordinator vacancy.

Roman is also expected to be on the Bucs' OC radar. The 42-year-old received plenty of head-coaching interest the previous two offseasons, and was even a candidate for the Jacksonville job that eventually went to Gus Bradley, but he's not believed to be on the radars of any of the teams looking for a head coach at the moment. Ex-Bears coach Marc Trestman is also an option for the Jaguars.

49ers OC Greg Roman is interviewing for the Vikings' head-coaching vacancy on Saturday.

Roman is the type of candidate who could overtake Bengals DC Mike Zimmer as the favorite in Minnesota, having shown an ability to not only maximize limited-talent quarterbacks like Alex Smith, but develop a raw one in Colin Kaepernick into a franchise signal caller. The Vikings need quarterback help any way they can get it. Vikings GM Rick Spielman is also a 49ers admirer, having attempted to build his team (ineffectively) in San Francisco's likeness.
