Seahawks DC Dan Quinn said he "certainly" would've been interested in the Browns' head coaching job.
Hey, the Browns finally found a hot name that wants their job! "It's a big-time place," Quinn said. Cleveland chose not to wait until the Seahawks' Super Bowl run was over to make their move, instead settling for Bills DC Mike Pettine as their fourth head coach since 2010. Much like Gus Bradley before him, Quinn is going to ride the Legion of Boom and this dominant Seahawks unit into a head coaching position sooner rather than later. 2013 marked his first year as a coordinator at any level. FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports Seahawks DC Dan Quinn is high on the Browns' list for their head-coaching vacancy.

Quinn interviewed with the Browns on the first of the year. The Seahawks are still in the playoffs, so he can't talk with Cleveland again until Seattle is bounced or wins the Super Bowl. The Browns don't seem to be in any rush to make a hire, so they're likely perfectly content with that. They also want to speak with Broncos OC Adam Gase. Per Glazer, Quinn is showing much more interest in the Browns opening than Gase. Bills DC Mike Pettine's interview reportedly also went well.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Titans owner Tommy Smith is so "smitten with Seattle" that Seahawks DC Dan Quinn is expected to be a finalist for Tennessee's head-coaching vacancy before he even interviews.

This meshes with an NFL Network report that Quinn is viewed as a "top candidate" for the Titans job. As Schefter pointed out, Quinn has yet to interview. It's unclear when that will take place, but it'll likely happen before the Super Bowl. Quinn is in his first season as Seattle's defensive boss. Previously, he ran the Florida Gators' defense. Quinn was an NFL defensive line coach from 2003-2010. The Seahawks fielded the league's No. 1 defense in 2013, finishing seventh against the run and first versus the pass.
Jan 11 - 11:41 AM's Ian Rapoport reports Seahawks DC Dan Quinn is a "top candidate" for the Titans' head-coaching vacancy.

That's a top candidate, not the top candidate. Quinn has also drawn interest from the Browns and Vikings. It's unclear when/if he'll interview with Tennessee. Ravens OC Jim Caldwell, Bengals DC Mike Zimmer and Chargers OC Ken Whisenhunt are other candidates to replace Mike Munchak. Per Rapsheet, the team is also interested in Seahawks OC Darrell Bevell.

Seahawks DC Dan Quinn will interview for the Browns head-coaching vacancy on Wednesday.

Quinn has just one year of coordinating experience at the NFL level, but oversaw the league's top defense in 2013. Patriots OC Josh McDaniels is considered higher on the Browns' list of candidates and will interview later this week. Cleveland is also believed to have interest in Chargers OC Ken Whisenhunt.

The Vikings have requested permission to interview Seahawks DC Dan Quinn for their head-coaching vacancy.

Quinn also appears to be on the Browns' short list after a phenomenal year running Seattle's defense under Pete Carroll. Vikings GM Rick Spielman has said he plans to have a new head coach in place by January's Senior Bowl.

The Browns have requested permission to interview Seahawks DC Dan Quinn for their head-coaching vacancy.

This throws cold water on the notion that Rob Chudzinski was forced out the door with an obvious replacement in mind. Pete Carroll's latest protégé, Quinn has just one year of coordinating experience at the NFL level, but oversaw the league's fiercest unit this season. Defense isn't the Browns' problem, however. We'd ultimately expect GM Mike Lombardi to go with another offensive mind.
