Ka'Deem Carey exited Week 2 against the Eagles with a hamstring injury.

Carey was splitting snaps with Jeremy Langford in the first quarter, but Carey quickly got hurt. Langford ended the first half with five yards and one touchdown on four carries. Rookie Jordan Howard got some reps in the third quarter.
Sep 19 - 10:30 PM

Ka'Deem Carey rushed four times for nine yards and caught one pass for 10 yards Saturday against the Chiefs.

His one catch was a nice fourth-down conversion in the third quarter. Carey was the third back through the rotation Saturday, working behind Jeremy Langford and Jacquizz Rodgers but ahead of rookie Jordan Howard. He will not see any fantasy value in that role, but he would be a name to remember if something happened to Langford.

Bears RB Ka'Deem Carey (concussion) was still in a non-contact jersey at Wednesday's practice.

Just being at practice means Carey has progressed through the concussion protocol, but it is likely he sits out this week's game. That should give more work to rookie Jordan Howard, who appeared to be buried on the depth chart in the first preseason game.

Bears RB Ka'Deem Carey suffered a possible concussion in Thursday night's preseason opener.

Running behind Jacquizz Rodgers, Carey was injured in the second half and will not return. Carey is competing for snaps in Chicago's backfield with Rodgers, Jeremy Langford, and rookie Jordan Howard.

The Chicago Sun Times cautions to "not count out" Ka'Deem Carey in the Bears' running back battle.

A technically sound player with mediocre physical traits, Carey has averaged 4.01 yards through his first 79 NFL carries. Touches are up for grabs in Chicago's backfield, where Jeremy Langford is the tentative front-runner and power back Jordan Howard was added in the fifth round. Coach John Fox has said publicly the Bears will "ride the hot hand" at running back this year.
May 25 - 9:09 PM

Ka'Deem Carey rushed seven times for 16 yards and a touchdown and caught his only target for one yard and a touchdown in the Bears' Week 16 win over the Buccaneers.

Carey played the role of vulture on Sunday with a pair of one-yard touchdowns. With the game well in hand, Carey was able to pad his stats with a few carries in garbage time. He’s still a distant third on the running back depth chart behind co-starters Matt Forte and Jeremy Langford. Carey and the Bears will finish the year next week with a home game against the Lions.

Ka'Deem Carey rushed five times for 17 yards and a touchdown Week 13 against the 49ers.

Recovered from a concussion which kept him out last week, Carey surprisingly got a drive to himself in the fourth quarter and scored what looked like the game-winning touchdown late in the game. He also converted a third-and-10 which allowed the Bears to run down the clock for a game-winning field goal attempt to close out the game. Robbie Gould missed the kick, but it still was a big play. It is difficult to believe Carey is going consistently get work ahead of Matt Forte and Jeremy Langford, but crazier things have happened. He is worth a speculative add in deep leagues.

Ka'Deem Carey (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 12 against the Packers.

With Matt Forte set to return from his knee injury, Carey wasn't slated for a big role anyway behind Forte and Jeremy Langford. He may go back to being a weekly inactive since he doesn't contribute on special teams.

Ka'Deem Carey left Week 11 against the Broncos with a concussion.

Carey took a helmet-to-helmet to hit in the third quarter. He had nine carries for 32 yards in a committee with Jeremy Langford before going down. With Chicago on a short week, Carey will be in a race to get cleared for Week 12.

Ka'Deem Carey rushed 14 times for 56 yards in the Bears' Week 10 win over the Rams.

The Bears certainly haven't missed a beat without Matt Forte (knee), going 2-0 and leaning on Jeremy Langford and change-up back Carey. Langford dominated work and totaled 182 yards and two touchdowns, but Carey had a couple meaningful carries when the game was still in question before getting a bunch of work late in garbage time. He's proven a solid backup.

Ka'Deem Carey rushed seven times for 28 yards in the Bears' Week 9 win over the Chargers on Monday night.

Carey shockingly got the start in the backfield and received three of the first four carries. Jeremy Langford owners were sent into hyperventilation, but Langford took over after the opening drive and out-touched Carey 21-7, while piling up 142 total yards and a score. Carey is the "veteran" of the group and got the nod to start, even after being a healthy inactive four times already. With Matt Forte (knee) expected to miss Week 10 at St. Louis, Carey will again be the COP back.

The Chicago Tribune doesn’t consider Ka’Deem Carey a lock for the 53-man roster.

Carey has been playing behind Jacquizz Rodgers and Jeremy Langford throughout the preseason. He isn’t guaranteed a spot as the No. 4 running back. Carey’s lack of special teams value is working against him.

ESPN Chicago’s Jeff Dickerson believes Ka’Deem Carey needs a strong preseason to secure his roster spot.

The Bears signed veteran role player Jacquizz Rodgers in free agency and drafted Jeremy Langford early in the fourth round. A holdover from the failed Phil Emery regime, Carey has lost his support system with rookie GM Ryan Pace and new OC Adam Gase now calling the shots. Many teams carry only three running backs. Carey may need to show special teams value to stick around.

ESPN Chicago expects Ka'Deem Carey's role to increase under new coach John Fox.

The Bears are moving to a more run-based scheme after being among the most pass-heavy teams last year. A fourth-round pick, Carey has a limited skill-set and struggles in pass protection, but will be a candidate for a slight uptick in snaps in his second season. Carey should return as the top handcuff to Matt Forte. He's a low-upside RB5/6 in Dynasty leagues.
