According to ESPN Jaguars reporter Mike DiRocco, the team "really like(s)" Aaron Colvin inside as the slot corner.
Colvin (6'/194) is entering the final year of his rookie deal after being a fourth-rounder in 2014. The Jaguars got him as a draft-day steal after Colvin tore his ACL at Oklahoma. He played just 292 snaps in 2016 following a four-game suspension and season-ending ankle injury but did receive plus marks for his coverage from Pro Football Focus. With Jalen Ramsey outside and Colvin inside, cornerback isn't as big of a need for the Jaguars as offensive line and pass rush. Feb 1 - 10:17 AM

NFL suspended Jaguars CB Aaron Colvin four games for violating the league's policy on PEDs.

GM Dave Caldwell admitted the Jags have known about Colvin's suspension for some time, and it's possible it factored into the signing of Prince Amukamara. Colvin started 15 games last season, recording 73 tackles and four sacks. "I apologize to my family, the Jaguars organization, especially my coaches and teammates, as well as all the Jaguars fans that have been supportive of me since I was drafted here in 2014," said Colvin on Twitter. "I will learn from this." When Colvin gets off suspension in Week 5, he should retake the Jaguars' nickel corner role.

Second-year CB Aaron Colvin has supplanted Demetrius McCray as the starter opposite Davon House.

Colvin is working as an outside corner in base sets and covering the slot in nickel. Injury concerns pushed Colvin to the fourth round last year, but he is a first-round talent who is apparently putting it on display in camp. He should offer a big boost to the Jaguars' pass defense.

Second-year CB Aaron Colvin is expected to open the season as a starter.

Colvin appears to be outplaying Demetrius McCray opposite Davon House. A 2014 fourth-round pick, Colvin redshirted most of his rookie year on the injured reserve-designated for return list after tearing his ACL at the 2014 Senior Bowl. Colvin might have been a first-round pick if healthy last offseason. In nickel, Colvin figures to cover the slot with McCray entering outside.

Jaguars second-year CB Aaron Colvin "stood out consistently" during the offseason program.

A torn ACL suffered in the Senior Bowl prevented Colvin from playing early his rookie year, but he recovered in time to make six appearances late in the season. Now completely healthy and up to 197 pounds, Colvin should take a big step forward as a sophomore. He is the favorite to win the Jaguars' first-team slot corner job in camp.

Jaguars second-year CB Aaron Colvin is up to 197 pounds.

Colvin made six appearances at the end of last season after being activated from the reserve/NFI list. He has a chance to win the Jaguars' first-team slot cornerback job in training camp.

Jaguars activated CB Aaron Colvin (knee) off the reserve/NFI list.

Jaguars rookie CB Aaron Colvin (knee, NFI) remains on track to make his debut at some point in November.

He tore his ACL at the Senior Bowl. Colvin was recently cleared to begin running full speed, and it was determined that his knee is full strength. He may be permitted to begin practicing as soon as next week, which would then give the Jaguars a 21-day window to activate him. Colvin could end up being a starter for the Jaguars in 2015 if he can return to his pre-injury form.

Jaguars rookie CB Aaron Colvin's surgically-repaired right knee is back to full strength.

Colvin cleared the hurdle this week. The Jaguars now fully expect him to play this season. He's on the reserve?NFI list, and will miss at least the next three games before he's eligible to return. Colvin will likely play limited snaps just to get his feet wet this year before pushing for a starting job in 2015.
