Steelers DE Stephon Tuitt (biceps) is not expected to play Week 2 against the Vikings.

Tuitt returned to a limited practice on Friday, but he apparently is still not quite back from the biceps injury he suffered in the season opener. He will have a good shot to suit up Week 3.

Steelers DE Stephon Tuitt (biceps) is questionable for Week 2 against the Vikings.

Vance McDonald (back) and J.J. Wilcox (concussion) also drew the questionable listing while Jerald Hawkins has already been ruled out with a knee injury. Tuitt practiced on a limited basis Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday. He may need another week.
Sep 15 - 2:36 PM

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said DE Stephon Tuitt (biceps) could play Week 2 against the Vikings.

The news keeps getting better for Tuitt, who was thought to have a season-ending injury on Sunday night. He is at best questionable for this week, but it sounds like he will miss limited time if any.
Sep 12 - 12:16 PM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Steelers DE Stephon Tuitt (biceps) has avoided a season-ending injury.

It was thought Tuitt tore his biceps Week 1 against the Browns, but a Monday MRI apparently revealed good news. Rapoport called him "week-to-week," so he still likely will miss a game or two.
Sep 11 - 1:00 PM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Steelers fear DE Stephon Tuitt suffered a torn biceps in the Week 1 win over the Browns.

He'll undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the injury. If it is indeed torn, Tuitt would be done for the season. Fortunately for him, Tuitt signed a massive five-year extension on Saturday. It would be a big loss for the defense.
Sep 10 - 9:16 PM

Steelers DL Stephon Tuitt sustained a left arm injury in Sunday's Week 1 game and is questionable to return.

Tuitt left the game after just one possession. He has remained on the sideline without his helmet. Tyson Alualu has replaced Tuitt in the lineup.
Sep 10 - 1:30 PM

Steelers signed DE Stephon Tuitt to a five-year, $60-million extension through 2022.

Tuitt was entering the final year of his rookie deal. He was PFF's No. 9-ranked 3-4 end last season, grading well in both pass rush and run defense. Tuitt is an important part of the Steelers' young and rapidly-improving defense.
Sep 9 - 12:27 PM

Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the Steelers and DE Stephon Tuitt are "close to signing a contract extension."

Pittsburgh does not negotiate during the season, so the two sides are running out of time. "We’re going to see," Tuitt said. "It’s ongoing. Hopefully, everything is close. Right now I’m worried about getting better every day to get ready for the Browns." Entering the final season of his rookie contract, Tuitt is expected to land at least $10 million a year on his next deal.
Sep 7 - 10:12 AM

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler was told Steelers walk-year DE Stephon Tuitt could land "$10 million to $12 million per year" on his next deal.

Tuitt is not going to get Muhammad Wilkerson or J.J. Watt money, but he likely will top the deal of teammate Cam Heyward, who signed a five-year extension with just over $52 million in new money in 2015. The Steelers have said they hope to extend Tuitt before Week 1, but the defensive end thinks there is just a "50/50" chance a deal gets done. If the two sides cannot come to an agreement, Tuitt will be a franchise tag candidate.

Aug 24 - 11:16 AM

The Steelers hope to extend contract-year LE Stephon Tuitt before Week 1.

Owner Art Rooney II said so himself on Thursday. Coming off something of a breakout campaign, Tuitt is 24 years old heading into the final year of his rookie contract. He would be a strong candidate for the franchise tag next offseason if the Steelers can't get him locked up.
Aug 17 - 6:58 PM

Steelers LE Stephon Tuitt underwent offseason hand surgery and is not practicing at OTAs.

Tuitt should be fine by camp, but the Steelers have no reason to push the budding star. Tuitt was PFF's No. 9-ranked 3-4 end last season, receiving elite marks in both run defense and pass rush. With one year left on his rookie deal, the Steelers are expected to begin discussing an extension with Tuitt.
May 24 - 1:05 PM

The Steelers are expected to approach contract-year LE Stephon Tuitt about an extension.

Tuitt has amassed 10.5 sacks over the past two seasons while stamping out running games, and should be viewed as a long-term building block in Pittsburgh. The 46th overall pick in the 2014 draft, Tuitt is not yet 24 years old. Tuitt's agent should target a four-year extension that allows him to cash in twice with big signing bonuses, hitting the market again before the age of 30.
Feb 10 - 12:54 PM

Steelers DE Stephon Tuitt (knee) was not listed on the final injury report.

Tuitt is ready to go after sitting out the final two games of the regular season with a knee injury. A force when healthy, Tuitt's return is a big boost to the Steelers' playoff push.
