Chiefs declared QB Aaron Murray, CB Steven Nelson, CB Marcus Cooper, OL Jeff Allen, TE Brian Parker, WR Frankie Hammond, and DL Rakeem Nunez-Roches inactive for Week 1 against the Texans.

There are no surprises here. RT Eric Fisher (ankle) is officially active for the game, but is expected to come off the bench behind Jah Reid.

Chiefs declared QB Aaron Murray, CB Jamell Fleming, OL Eric Kush, OL Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, WR Junior Hemingway, TE Richard Gordon and DE Allen Bailey inactive for Week 14 against the Cardinals.

Hemingway and Bailey are both week to week with concussions. Fleming was probable with a hamstring, but will not suit up. Everone else is a healthy scratch.

Chiefs fifth-round QB Aaron Murray (knee) has been a full participant in OTAs.

Murray tore his ACL in November, but hasn't had any setbacks and is competing in all drills. He's battling Tyler Bray for the No. 3 job behind Alex Smith and Chase Daniel. Bray has a cannon arm and prototypical size, while Murray has the smarts and plenty of college starting experience.

Chiefs signed fifth-round QB Aaron Murray to a four-year contract.

Murray has plenty of starting experience but is coming off a torn ACL. He's just a shade over 6-feet tall, has an average arm, and is statuesque in the pocket. Murray is no threat to Chase Daniel's No. 2 job behind Alex Smith in 2014.

Chiefs selected Georgia QB Aaron Murray with the No. 163 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

Murray (6-foot 1/2, 207) made 52 starts for the Bulldogs before tearing his left ACL last November, compiling a 35-17 record, 62.3% completion rate, and 121:41 TD-to-INT ratio. He was healthy enough to throw at Georgia's April 15 Pro Day, but did not run for scouts and will likely "redshirt" as a rookie behind Alex Smith, Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray. While Murray was a strong college starter, he is undersized with smallish hands (9 1/8"), an average arm, and very little mobility. Smart (29 Wonderlic) but likely maxed out physically going on age 24, Murray projects as a long-term NFL backup.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Rams are "strongly considering" drafting a quarterback in May.

The Rams used one of their 30 pre-draft visits on Pittsburgh's Tom Savage, and sent QBs coach Frank Cignetti to the Georgia Pro Day to see Aaron Murray throw. They've also shown interest in SMU's Garrett Gilbert and South Carolina's Connor Shaw. Beat writer Jim Thomas believes the Rams will draft a middle-round QB. "I don’t think there’s any question the Rams are taking a quarterback," added Gil Brandt. "(GM) Les Snead has been around looking at those guys."

Georgia QB Aaron Murray (torn left ACL) expects to be at full health for his April 16 Pro Day.

That's a bit hard to believe since Murray just went down in November, but he's been saying he's ahead of schedule for well over a month. Just 6-foot-0 with questionable arm strength, Murray isn't expected to come off the board before day three.
