Donte Moncrief caught 7-of-10 targets for 76 yards in the Jaguars’ Week 7 loss to the Texans.
Moncrief led the team in targets and receiving in a game where Blake Bortles was benched for losing multiple fumbles, and Cody Kessler wound up attempting 30 passes in a half as the Jaguars played from behind. The week before, Moncrief went catch-less on three targets. Although Week 8 against the Eagles poses a favorable matchup, Moncrief’s wild week-to-week inconsistency will render him a boom-bust WR3/flex option. Oct 21 - 5:40 PM

Donte Moncrief came up empty on his three targets Sunday in Jacksonville’s Week 6 loss to the Cowboys.

Moncrief entered Week 6 with 11 catches for 185 yards and a touchdown over his previous two outings, but that all went out the window against Dallas. The ex-Colt blew a fourth-down conversion with an ugly drop in the fourth quarter, not that it mattered much with Jacksonville getting boat-raced. Moncrief's goose egg Sunday serves as a reminder that he'll always be a boom-or-bust fantasy player. We'll see how he fares against Houston in Week 7.
Oct 14 - 8:41 PM

Donte Moncrief hauled in 6-of-15 targets for 76 yards in the Jaguars' Week 5 loss to the Chiefs.

Moncrief led the team in receiving, but there was nothing particularly impactful about his performance. He had 15 yards at the half, and 25 of his yards came on a meaningless catch deep into garbage time. That said, he remains at worst the No. 2 option in a passing game which has created a lot of yardage with Leonard Fournette sidelined. He will be on the desperation WR4 map next week in Dallas.
Oct 7 - 5:37 PM

Donte Moncrief caught five passes for 109 yards and a touchdowin in Week 4 against the Jets.

Moncrief got behind Jets CB Trumaine Johnson for a 67-yard TD. It was his only real highlight, though Moncrief saw the second most targets behind Dede Westbrook. Moncrief didn't have more than 34 yards in any game prior to this week. This will likely go down as one of his best games.
Sep 30 - 5:19 PM

Donte Moncrief caught 2-of-3 targets for 16 yards in the Jaguars' Week 3 loss to Tennessee.

Moncrief is a rotational receiver on a run-first team with a highly inconsistent quarterback. He is barely roster worthy in 12-team leagues.
Sep 23 - 5:46 PM

Donte Moncrief caught 4-of-9 targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' Week 2 win over the Patriots.

There's a Moncrief line if we've ever seen one. Moncrief's four-yard score was a nice grab against tight Stephon Gilmore coverage in the end zone. Moncrief was announced with a knee injury in the second half but ended up playing through it. Despite the team-leading nine targets, Moncrief was fourth in yardage. He's a touchdown-or-bust WR4 for fantasy purposes.
Sep 16 - 8:05 PM

Donte Moncrief hauled in 1-of-5 targets for 14 yards in the Jaguars' Week 1 win over the Giants.

Moncrief got the start and actually saw one more target than Keelan Cole, but he was easily the least productive member of the receiving corps. Moncrief should remain involved because of his red-zone ability, but it would not be surprising if Dede Westbrook jumped him on the depth chart.
Sep 9 - 5:26 PM

Donte Moncrief hauled in 3-of-5 targets for 62 yards in the Jaguars' third preseason game.

Working as a top-two receiver following Marqise Lee's injury, Moncrief got loose for a 37-yard gain early in the second quarter and added two more catches after the break. It was not all roses, however, as Moncrief failed to run off the boundary corner, leading to Blake Bortles' second interception. With Lee seemingly dealing with a serious injury, Moncrief has some late-round appeal in fantasy drafts.
Aug 25 - 9:22 PM

Donte Moncrief (knee) has been fully cleared to practice.

Moncrief was limited at the start of training camp. His knee issue cost him some time this offseason but was never a major concern. Moncrief has struggled with injuries the last two years and hasn't produced when healthy. The Jaguars have ascending playmakers in Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook, but Moncrief's fully guaranteed $9.6 million salary is likely going to play a role in his early season snaps.
Aug 4 - 2:44 PM

The Jaguars' official website believes Donte Moncrief is penciled in as a starter.

Moncrief's fully guaranteed $9.6 million salary for 2018 suggested as much, but the Jags' receiver corps is crowded. Marqise Lee will start, while Keelan Cole was impressive as a rookie and D.J. Chark is a second-round investment. Second-year pro Dede Westbrook also flashed promise as a rookie. Moncrief was something of an underachiever with the Colts. He could leave the door open for competition in camp.
May 21 - 3:07 PM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Donte Moncrief's one-year, $9.6 million contract with the Jaguars is fully guaranteed.

It is an impressive chunk of change for a player who has managed just 56 catches for 698 yards over 21 games the last two years. He will not be 25 until August, however, and has an impressive skill set. Jacksonville is clearly betting on Moncrief reaching his potential this season. Reading into contract information can be a bad idea, but this deal suggests the Jaguars plan for Moncrief to start.
Mar 19 - 11:36 AM

Jaguars agreed to terms with WR Donte Moncrief, formerly of the Colts.

Even with Allen Robinson gone, Moncrief is joining a crowded receiver corps that now includes Marqise Lee, Keelan Cole, Allen Hurns and Dede Westrbook in addition to Moncrief. Perhaps Hurns is still a candidate for release. Of course, coming off back-to-back lost seasons, Moncrief is essentially a flier. Working in Moncrief's favor is his youth (25 in August) and still quite projectable skill-set. From a fantasy perspective, it's hard to see how Moncrief makes an impact in a run-first offense with Blake Bortles at quarterback.
Mar 13 - 4:55 PM

According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, the Ravens "remain focused on" free agent Donte Moncrief.

La Canfora mentioned in the same report that Baltimore is in the mix for fellow free agent Allen Robinson, but the Ravens may not have the cap space to get it done. GM Ozzie Newsome may have to dip into the second and third tiers of the free-agent receiver market in his effort to overhaul Joe Flacco's receiving corps. Moncrief may be best served by taking a one-year, prove-it deal.

Mar 11 - 5:04 PM

The Indianapolis Star expects the Colts and free agent Donte Moncrief to "(part) ways for good."

A physical freak, Moncrief is still only 24. His inconsistency could at least partly be attributed to Andrew Luck's frequent absences in recent seasons. Moncrief has also dealt with injury issues of his own. He will be an interesting case on the open market.
Mar 8 - 9:10 PM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport writes free agent Donte Moncrief and the Ravens is a "match that's worth watching."

Coming off back-to-back disappointing seasons, Moncrief is not going to command a big deal, but that could work to the Ravens' advantage. Desperate for receiving help and short on cap space, Baltimore should take a few high-upside fliers, and Moncrief certainly fits the bill. A one-year, prove-it deal could work for both sides.
