Donte Moncrief secured 5-of-8 targets for 41 yards in the Colts' Week 11 win over the Falcons.
Moncrief has cooled off considerably since a fast start to the season, and his big-play potential has been compromised by Matt Hasselbeck's noodle arm. Moncrief will be a low-ceiling WR3 option in Week 12 against the Buccaneers. Nov 22 - 5:46 PM

Donte Moncrief caught 3-of-4 targets for 30 yards Week 9 against the Broncos.

Moncrief was invisible until he made two plays in the fourth quarter. The sophomore was never expected to have a big game against the Broncos’ stifling outside corners, but getting out-produced by Griff Whalen is never a good feeling. Despite two bad games in a row, Moncrief will be a WR3 against Atlanta following the bye.
Nov 8 - 7:47 PM

Donte Moncrief caught 2-of-7 targets for 18 yards in the Colts' Week 8 loss to the Panthers on Monday night.

Both Moncrief and T.Y. Hilton had to do battle with top CB Josh Norman, while No. 2 CB Charles Tillman also had a strong game. Andrew Luck tried to hit Moncrief on a couple late deep balls, but Tillman was there every step of the way to bat away the passes. Things won't get any easier next week when the Broncos' elite pass defense comes to Indianapolis for Week 9.
Nov 3 - 1:18 AM

Donte Moncrief caught 4-of-6 targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' Week 7 loss to the Saints.

It was a quiet day for a wideout who ran a ton of routes against burnable CB Brandon Browner, though the touchdown saved things from a fantasy perspective. One of Moncrief's missed connections was a drop. A surprisingly consistent WR2 thus far, Moncrief gets the Panthers' elite defense in Week 8.
Oct 25 - 6:19 PM

Donte Moncrief caught 6-of-11 targets for 69 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' Week 6 loss to the Patriots.

Moncrief made a nice sideline catch in the end-zone for the Colts' first touchdown. He scored over Patriots CB Malcolm Butler and was shadowed by Butler for most of the night. Moncrief has been the Colts most consistent receiver this year, outplaying T.Y. Hilton in 3-of-6 games. He’ll be a mid-range WR2 for Week 7 against the Saints.
Oct 19 - 12:53 AM

ESPN Colts reporter Mike Wells said Donte Moncrief is "on his way to being the No. 2 receiver."

Moncrief was quiet during Andre Johnson's breakout last week, but Wells thinks Andrew Luck's (shoulder) return should be good for Moncrief. "He’s developed that relationship with Luck where he’s comfortable and he doesn’t hesitate going to him," Wells said. "Last year as a rookie, he had some concerns about drops. But Luck obviously has trust with him now." Moncrief should carry more value than Johnson the rest of the season, and he is a solid WR3 this week against New England.

Oct 17 - 12:04 PM

Donte Moncrief caught 1-of-3 targets for three yards in Indy's Week 5 win over the Texans.

That one is going to leave a mark. Moncrief out-snapped Andre Johnson 42-40, but was playing behind him in two-receiver sets. Johnson churned out his first good game of the season in the process, going 6/77/2. We're still higher on Moncrief going forward — he's soundly out-played Johnson in 4-of-5 contests, while Johnson's big game came on an emotional night against his former team — but he'll be safer as a WR3 than WR2 against the Patriots in Week 6.
Oct 9 - 12:17 AM

Donte Moncrief caught 6-of-9 targets for 75 yards in the Colts' Week 4 win over the Jaguars.

Moncrief played over Andre Johnson in two-wide sets, but finished behind T.Y. Hilton (13) and Coby Fleener (12) in targets. He was limited by Matt Hasselbeck and the Colts not attempting any plays downfield. Moncrief should continue to play ahead of Johnson. He'll be a high-upside WR3 if Andrew Luck returns in Week 5.
Oct 4 - 5:49 PM

Donte Moncrief caught 4-of-7 targets for 32 yards and a touchdown Week 3 against the Titans.

Moncrief was having a quiet day before climbing over Perrish Cox for an 11-yard touchdown to give the Colts the lead in the fourth quarter. Moncrief tied with Hilton for the team lead in targets with seven on a day Andre Johnson saw just one look. He will clearly be involved in the offense moving forward, and he will be a high-upside WR3 next week against Jacksonville.
Sep 27 - 5:30 PM

The Colts have no plans to reduce Donte Moncrief's role.

Moncrief has been the Colts best receiver through two weeks. He's played the same amount of snaps (107) as Andre Johnson and is expected to remain a big part of the offense. Moncrief could push Johnson to three-wide sets if his strong play continues. Moncrief is the No. 24 receiver in Rotoworld’s Week 3 rankings.
Sep 26 - 5:44 PM

Donte Moncrief caught 7-of-8 targets for 122 yards and one touchdown in the Colts' Week 2 loss to the Jets on Monday night.

A popular redraft add and DFS play this week with T.Y. Hilton battling a knee injury, Moncrief paid off. He was the only Colts player to show up in this one, though, as the rest of the offense stunk up the joint. Moncrief's first catch was a 30-yard grab down the middle, beating Antonio Cromartie's coverage. He later made a leaping, back-shoulder catch down the right side over slot CB Buster Skrine before then beating Cromartie again for the Colts' lone touchdown, a 26-yard score on a shallow crossing route. Moncrief will sprinkle in big weeks as a legit playmaker and is a must-keep in redraft leagues, even as the No. 3 receiver. Moncrief will be a boom-or-bust WR3 in Week 3 against the Titans.
Sep 21 - 11:58 PM

ESPN Colts reporter Mike Wells pegged Donte Moncrief as the "likely" starter opposite Andre Johnson if T.Y. Hilton (knee) can't play Week 2 against the Jets.

As expected, but it's worth noting nonetheless. Hilton admits his "bruised" knee is very sore to the touch, and owner Jim Irsay said his No. 1 receiver could "miss some time." The Colts have the firepower with Moncrief and rookie Phillip Dorsett to be able to give Hilton some rest. The bad news for Moncrief is that he'll go up against Darrelle Revis and company next Monday night. But his sky-high upside and playmaking ability make him a must-add in redraft.
Sep 14 - 7:26 PM

Donte Moncrief caught 6-of-11 targets for 46 yards and a touchdown in Indy's Week 1 loss to the Bills.

Moncrief was running well ahead of Phillip Dorsett for No. 3 duties. His 11 targets were only three fewer than T.Y. Hilton's team-leading 14. With Hilton (knee) expected to miss Week 2 and Andre Johnson turning in a brutal Colts debut, Moncrief could lead the club in looks against the Jets. The playmaking sophomore — Moncrief averaged 9.06 yards per target as a rookie — will be a recommended add on waiver wires this week.
Sep 13 - 6:28 PM

Donte Moncrief caught 2-of-3 targets for 25 yards in Saturday's preseason game.

With Phillip Dorsett (knee) sidelined, Moncrief found himself in three-receiver sets by default, and also served as a punt and kick returner. He flashed some of his explosion on a 20-yard grab late in the first half, but also muffed a punt. If Moncrief sits out Thursday's finale, he'll finish the preseason with three catches for 45 yards. Dorsett has looked like the favorite for the No. 3 job behind T.Y. Hilton and Andre Johnson, but that could change if his knee injury lingers.
Aug 29 - 11:19 PM

Donte Moncrief had one catch for 20 yards on three targets in the Colts second preseason game.

It was Moncrief's preseason debut after sitting out the opener. The Colts started Moncrief over Phillip Dorsett in three-wide sets. Moncrief has had a nondescript training camp, but didn't do anything to hurt his chances for the No. 3 job.
