The New York Giants are allowing 335.7 passing yards per game through three weeks, the worst mark in the NFL.
The Giants have yet to hold an opposing passer under 300 yards, as they have allowed big yardage to Tony Romo, Matt Ryan, and even Kirk Cousins so far this season. Week 4 brings a trip to Buffalo for the Giants, and although Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor has yet to crack the 300 yard mark in 2015, he is third among NFL quarterbacks in yards per attempt, at 9.2 yards per throw. The Giants D/ST is a low-tier fantasy option this week on the road. Oct 2 - 12:38 AM

The New York Giants will face the Washington Redskins and their NFL-leading rushing attack on Thursday night.

The Washington ground game is off to a great start in 2015, highlighted by a 182-yard rushing effort against the St. Louis defense in Week 2. The contributions of rookie Matt Jones have strengthened Jay Gruden's offense, and gives Washington another solid contributor in their backfield along with Alfred Morris. The run defense of the Giants has been stout, however, allowing just 68.0 rushing yards per game through two weeks. Overall, the Giants defense is still below average with pass defense issues, so DC Steve Spagnuolo's group won't be a startable D/ST option in Week 3.

New York Giants DC Steve Spagnuolo feels good about the Giants defense despite a tough Week 1 at Dallas.

The Giants D/ST did well in the turnover department, but coughed up 436 total yards to Tony Romo and the Cowboys. Spagnuolo told the Newark Star-Ledger that he was "very proud" of his defense and that the underneath passing success of the Cowboys was by design. "I'm better off with [underneath stuff]—or we're better off with that, than the other way. We did talk extensively during the week about keeping all receivers inside and in front." The Giants D/ST won't be a consideration in fantasy leagues this week with Julio Jones and the Atlanta Falcons on the schedule.

Giants RE Jason Pierre-Paul (hand) is reportedly looking at an early season return to the field.

Dan Graziano of ESPN reports that the Giants D/ST may get a key weapon back earlier than anticipated, as Pierre-Paul "expects to be able to play" early in the season. The Giants D/ST won't be an advisable start in Week 1 as they travel to Dallas, but this certainly helps the overall outlook of this fantasy defense.
Sep 3 - 11:59 PM

The New York Giants defense recorded just one sack and zero turnovers in their Week 3 preseason contest against the New York Jets.

The Giants D/ST unit is currently being drafted outside the top-20 fantasy defenses, and for good reason. The Giants were 29th in yards allowed per game in 2014, forking over 375.8 yards to opposing offenses each week. Not only is the Giants D/ST worth ignoring in drafts, but they will not be on the Week 1 streaming radar as a trip to Dallas is on the Week 1 schedule.
